If you’ve ever driven down Bird by 144th you’ve definitely seen this place. It’s your traditional Argentine meat/wine/empanada factory. I had previously tried their empanadas which were great so we came for a family dinner. The annoying thing about this place is that you have to order your food at the register and then have them bring it to your table. Which is great for more fast-casual spots, but this place is like a full-on restaurant. So you have to look through this 10 page menu, get your order together and put it all in. If you’re splitting the bill get ready to have everyone’s cards ready to go. But anyway… We ordered the beef + chicken empanadas which were great as always, as well as the parilla for 2 and a pasta dish. Wish I could remember the name of the pasta because it was extremely spicy but no mention of the heat level was on the menu. I personally thought the food was good in general but the meat was a bit overcooked which is a violation — especially at an Argentinian place. The amount of food however was perfect as everyone shared the meats + sides. Aside from the meat being a bit overcooked, the only other negative was the dessert which ended up being really dry. The«Oreo» cake hardly tasted like Oreo and had the texture of a cake that had been made a couple days ago. I’d def go back for their wine selection and empanadas but definitely take it all to go.

The pros: great empanadas(the beef one is delicious), wide variety of wine, the pasta Puttanesca is awesome! The cons: the meat was a bit overcooked, the cakes were stale(maybe it was just that day, but who knows), no table service. All in all, I gave it three stars because I expected more. The location is nice and looks like a good place to have dinner, but it’s really more like a place to enjoy some wine and some appetizers. In my opinion, this place has potential so hopefully I went on an off night. Hey, we all have off nights!

Delicious empanadas, super fresh and upscale atmosphere. The service is friendly and everything I’ve purchased has been a pleasure.

Really only good for tapas, empanadas, and wine. The food is not that great and overpriced. However, you can buy your own wine off the shelf and there is no corkage fee. Tablas are great! Service is so so.

The service was terrible, I ordered something and they gave me the wrong plate which I did not liked, I had to get up several times to get water, bread and asked them if they could bring me the plate that I ordered, the owner was seating besides me and got up to talked to the waitress but did nothing about it. Finally, we left hungry and angry. Never again going to that place. Irella Mantica

I have been here several times, since I live in the area. The empanadas are my favorite for a quick lunch. They have a great selection of Argentinian wines. The pastries are excellent.

I love this spot! It’s a great spot to pick up some empanadas, croquettes and other goodies to go. They have a wonderful selection of wines for purchase, although slightly overpriced. It’s also a cool & casual spot to sit and have a glass(or bottle) of wine and order a «tablada» of cheese & meats. On occasion I’ll have lunch or dinner and I have never been disappointed in my selections. Favorites: steak(flank/skirt); croquettes and the Spanish Omelette. The Omelette is a large portion and though it has onions(can’t special order it) you can’t taste them at all. SN: I hate onions.

I asked for a Ribeye, medium rare. The taste was blant and the temperature was ok at best.

Prices are fare, portions are good, and service is fast. The only reason I’m giving it a 4 star instead of a 5 star is because of the quality of steak I had. There are other local spots nearby who have better quality steak in my opinion. Besides that, the atmosphere is cool and casual.

Absolutely Love this place. It has so many facets and they all work. It’s kind of small and simple but great ambience. Also great for take out As a meat market and deli. They have an excellent selection of gourmet cheeses and meats. Very hard to find anywhere else, especially in this area. As a wine shop. Again the best in the area. No where, I mean no where anywhere near Kendall has a better wine selection. Incredible For breakfast. My favorite great little gourmet dishes for breakfast. My favorite is the bagel with salmon and capers, absolutely mouth watering. As a bakery. The desserts and sweets are great. They even have delicious macarons. Overall, pretty much a one stop shop for delicious food and wine. Great to eat in. Great for Take out. Also must mention. Best Empanadas I HAVEEVERHAD!!! Must try!

Expensive for what you get. Service terrible. Don’t even acknowledge when you walk in the door. Vacio is like shoe leather and same taste.

I I’m having the most delicious breakfast at gauchos. Eggs with ham, patatas bravas, toast, and coffee. I’ve been to gauchos many times, and I love their food. But this breakfast is delicious! Highly recommended. Big portions!

You go to an Argentine place for meat, and I ordered the 6 ounce bife de chorizo. It was a very nice cut of meat which good flavor, and it was juicy. While the salad greens were fresh, they gave me bottles Italian dressing. I thing they could have done better with the dressing, honestly. The French fries were not of this world. All in all a nice option. In addition to the restaurant, they have a great wine selection and a range of other imported goods. The butchery offers fresh meat for you to take home. It’s a clean and well organized restaurant /store.

Second check-in! Again a five star experience. Met Miguel one of the owners he is charming. Families or couples welcome. I love this place! Chicken, pasta and skirt steak all on point order at counter and meal is delivered to your table. Meat market and deli in the back for take out. Best spot in the neighborhood. Value and service are a TEN!

Great Argentinian empanada selection. I usually pick up 15 – 20 and freeze them to be heated as needed(spinach is my fav, family loves the meat one). I’ve never experienced their«real» food, but I imagine it is good, as it gets packed at night, specially with larger parties. The sell some HUGE bottles of wine, right up my alley, haha. Prices are competitive.

Very pleased with this find on what is usually a crowded Saturday. I always go out of my way to search for places that are hidden or underrated for less crowds. We were successful with today’s selection. To start, customer service was excellent! And both English and Spanish dialects are very well spoken by the friendly staff(always a plus). The décor and layout is very nice and comfortable, plenty of seating available. It is not table service, you place your order at the register and place a number on your table and in a very timely manner your food will arrive. I went with the obvious choice a 6 oz Skirt Streak that comes with 2 sides, I picked mashed potatoes(which arrived somewhat cold) and fried yuca(resembles French fries I would not recommend) the steak however was excellent! My hot date ordered the 6 oz Short Rib equally delicious! She also had mash(cold) and tostones which were fresh, hot and delicious. The food was very good, however they fell a bit short on the attention to detail serving the cold mash. Aside from the temperature of their mashed potatoes, we enjoyed our meal, the ambiance and the environment. We would definitely return with the mental note of not ordering the mash or the fried yuca. We took two desserts to go, the caramel cheesecake and a typical Argentinian cake that slips my mind at the moment. Their prices are fair and the staff was friendly and professional. Give them a try!

I love this place… yes it can be a bit pricey, but if you know how to order, it can be a fun experience. First of all, if you do not know your wine, I suggest you download«Vivino», it is great, you can scan the bottle and it tells you the reviews and the average price for the bottle, this is good to know to make sure you are not being overcharged for it. Knowing how to order is also a plus, we decided to order several appetizers including their meat platters, this way we were able to try different things without stretching our wallets… I love the ambiance and the staff is very friendly…
