Unhappy with what I received. I went in for a blow dry. I had gotten one there previously and paid $ 25 for it and liked it. This time she charged me $ 45 and said something about me not speaking Spanish, in Spanish. I know enough to catch that! There was another girl who was right before me and I have a sneaking suspicion that she was not charged $ 45 for her blow dry. I also asked for it to be wavy and it ended up straight with a little flip to the ends. I won’t be returning.

Worst hair cut ever, I would not recommend this place to anyone, unless you were going for that uneven-looks like I just got ran over by a lawn mower look. I was growing my hair out long and asked that they only trim and thin out the sides. After asking if I wanted to have scissors or Clippers used I saw big locks of hair falling of the top of my head as the lady happily chopped it all off. I ended up having to shave it all off, it was unfix-able and they refused to take responsibility for it. Will never go back and recommend others to avoid it as I am not the only person who has had their worst hair cut here.

So, this place would get a negative star if possible. I made an appointment for a mani & pedi during my lunch hour from work. Me, all excited to get my nails done shows up ONTIME and the woman that is supposedly going to do my nails is working on another woman’s nails, acrylics by the way. She tells me that I have to wait until she is done. So I tell her that is what appointments are for, so that people don’t have to wait. She just basically tells me oh well, you have to wait. I wait about 5 mins and I tell the man at the front desk that I am leaving since I do not have time to waste siting around. He tries bs-ing me telling me that the woman will be done in 20 mins(mind you she was only cutting the girls acrylics at this point… she was atleast going to take another 30 mins). He even tried bribing me into waiting telling me that he’ll give me a discount… whoopty doo… On top of all that, both of them weren’t even nice or courteous. The salon was a WRECK! Hair all over the floor, products stocked on shelves as if a child did it. The man even called another man a monkey when he came in trying to sell a magazine! Trust me, there are PLENTY of salons in the same area… STAYAWAY from Hair Gallery!!! Worst service ever!!!

YOU… ARE… KIDDINGME!!! $ 15 for the worst haircut in my life — and I’ve even been to $ 5, $ 3, even $ 2 hair parlors in the ghettos! I walk in and informed I needed a haircut, then I was instructed to sit down. Fine, I sit down. BADSIGN No.1 This old haircutting guy takes his time to prep up to cut my hair — he looks for something all over the place and still cannot find it and I have no clue what it was he was looking for — he looks over the cabinet, in his drawers and through his hair products — all of which had hair from his previous cuts sticking on them — GROSS. BADSIGN No. 2 He knocks over a trash can by accident and doesn’t fix it. BADSIGN No. 3 He wets my hair even though I was wearing GLASSES and an ear apparatus! HELLO — can’t you at least inform me that you’re going to wet my hair and that I should at least take them off? BADSIGN No. 4 I assumed he was going to ask me how I would like my hair cut afterwards. Well, surprise but N-O-P-E! He immediately starts cutting my hair short much to my surprise! I mean, seriously, this blows my mind away! I immediately interject and told him how I wanted my hair cut. BADSIGN No. 4(yeah, I should have left already but damage was started so let’s just pray he would fix it) He is ROUGH with my head, almost as if he was slapping it around! I felt like I was going to go bald just by him yanking my hair. BADSIGNNO. 5 — The blow dry I would skip it — he had it set at hot, and I could feel my scalp being burned! BADSIGN No. 6 — The result I got a Cuban bola of cheap hair — and at rip-off prices $ 15! The Asian haircutters you hear about in any major city’s Chinatown would have their jaws dropped at this price — NOSHAMPOO, NONOTHING. BADSIGN No. 7 — Certification? And that’s when I looked, and I realized there’s no certification of him being a haircutter by the mirror or anywhere else. Why is this place even open? Why is he even cutting hair? And there’s no ounce of professionalism to be seen by his dress, behavior, or smell(he reeked of cigs). BADSIGN No. 8 — Unsanitary Well, I mentioned the hair sticking onto hair products. But he dropped a comb onto the floor — and nope, it wasn’t sanitized — and he continued to use the same comb. Nothing was sanitized here. Scary! And you know me — I hardly give 1-star reviews. And this is the first time in my whole Unilocal-life which makes me wish for negative stars to the über-extreme! Patronage to this place should be avoided especially if they let that old guy cut hair carelessly.

I went here based on the reviews I saw on Unilocal and because I live three blocks away. I was hoping for a great haircut at a decent price — the holy grail??? I have stick straight hair and only needed a trim… that’s right, I just needed someone who could cut a straight line, no complex layering or coloring, just a straight line. I called and booked my appointment at Hair Gallery. The girl on the phone said I could get a haircut for $ 20. Perfect! So I walked down and Jorge cut my hair. He did a good job — not great but adequate(not really a compliment huh???). The salon is bare, very diverse and focused on fast, friendly service. It is not a high end salon with coffee, tea, or warm mauve and blue tones. It is stark and sterile and kinda feels like the stylists may or may not be there tomorrow. I needed a mani/pedi too so I asked for one and got a pretty good one. The price was $ 36 for both. That included the soak, scrub, small rub, cut, shine and polish. Fine. We will see how long it lasts. In the end I was charged $ 60+tip for a wash/trim, mani/pedi. Not too bad. I am not sure I will go back. I think maybe springing the extra dough for a nicer place may make going to the salon a treat rather than another chore.

I am excited, during my weekly salon visit today, Hair Gallery informed us that they will be accepting their appointments via next year, and we would be able to earn beautybucks for using this new system. This is awesome news, I wont have to call in my appointment, just login to , make my own appointment and ear rewards, also they will be promoting their empty chairs on their new real time system, meaning I can score a blower for under $ 20 and still earn rewards! Im Loving it!

got my hair cut here. It is unisex, I got my head shaved for cheap. I went in on a weekend, was immediately seen. The cut was clean, quick and just how I like my fadez and whatnot. Nice neighborhood spot
