I’ve been going here since 2010 to eat lunch. My favorite is the Churrasco Salad and the Tuna Avocado Wrap. The service is great. Oscar the waiter is always greeting us and knows what I like. If you work by the airport or the Gables, this is a great place to munch and talk business with associates.

This is a great course to play. It’s somewhat expensive during the winter but they are keeping the course in good condition.

I have not played the course but I’ve been going here about 3 months for practice as its not far from my home. That being said don’t try to get here near rush hour as traffic is crazy. The practice range is great and very well kept with plenty of marked targets. Putting and chipping green in back and another putting green in front. Decent pro shop considering its size and they do repairs, club fitting etc. Lessons range from $ 75 – 150 depending on the person. There is a great place to eat as well and while the food is great I have found the service pretty bad every time… sitting at the bar seems to be better. Watch out for corporate tourneys and other events as the place can get really busy with no warning, also they host a big summer camp and groups for kids so don’t get put off if you see a gaggle of 50 kids.

Bullet points: *Decent course *Unfortunate location amidst clusterf***-style traffic and jets directly overhead *Rates are too high for a «decent» public course located adjacent to a major airport The course itself is OK. It’s a fair layout — nice fairway width so wildmen like me can feel comfortable going bombs away with the driver. There is a modest number of sand traps, and water comes into play on only a couple holes. I didn’t find the greens to be too difficult to read. It’s neither long nor short — good length for crappy golfers who are still capable of hitting the ball a long way. You hit a couple good shots here, and you get rewarded for it, unlike at some other courses. On 1 – 2 holes, I felt like Rory McIlroy at the U.S. Open, drilling the ball 300 yards down the middle of the fairway, then punching a 7-iron 8 inches from the hole. Of course, on the remaining 16 holes, I was hitting my irons so poorly you would have thought I have severe physical coordination problems. Like many a South Florida course, it’s windblown, so any holes that play west to east or north to south tend to be more difficult with our typical 15 – 20 mph afternoon ocean breezes. One of the problems with this course is getting there — this area of Miami is godawful. The surrounding area is intensely congested, and no one seems to have a clue how to drive. It shouldn’t take me close to 45 minutes to get from my home to this course in the middle of a weekday, as it’s not *that* far. On a weekend, a city of Miami resident pays $ 65 for a round here, $ 70 if you’re a South Florida resident, $ 95 otherwise. For this course, I find these rates too high. Good golf, but there are nicer courses to be had for similar rates.

Not sure why more people do not know about this place! The food is simply spectacular! The Patty melt, the short ribs, the burgers, the wings, the homemade fries! Their chef is fantastic. The restaurant is brand new at a great public golf course off of 37th. The servers are a delight.
