Tiny little spot, not in the plaza with the big Aurora bakery sign, it’s in the next plaza. Food was good. Inexpensive. I’d go back.

Stopped here twice while in Miami recently. This place feels really legit — lots of yelling in Spanish while trays of trays of pastries are stacked behind their kitchen doors. The pastry they used it the golden/yellowy kind, that is flaky but has much more flavor than some of the regular puff pastry peddled by other purveyors. #alliterationallday Had the guava pastry, the meat pie thing, the coconut pastry, their half dozen Cuban loaves of bread, and some meat/potato ball. The coconut pastry will knock your socks off — sweet coconut on top of a beautifully glazed flaky dream. It’s not overwhelmingly saccharine but instead delightfully balanced. The guava filling is some of the best I’ve ever had and I love the meat pie but only wish that it had more meat because it was so, so good. I took off a star because the meat/potato ball thing tasted a little off, like the oil they fried it in was a bit old or something. But I couldn’t really tell if that was me or the meat ball thing, so don’t judge them based on that. For a bag of 6 rolls, two meat pies, two coconuts, and a guava, I think the whole thing was $ 4 or $ 5. Doesn’t get much more affordable than that!

Great, old school Cuban bakery. The best pastelitos and Cuban bread in Miami. And you’ll never miss the chusmeria going on all the time lol.

I can’t give 5 stars because I haven’t tried everything… yet! My husband was in the hospital & I wanted to bring pastelitos to the nurses/staff so they’d remember my husband if/when he needed something, so I googled ‘Cuban pastries north Miami ’ & found this bakery. It’s a hole in the wall! It’s awesome! Maria is a(wonderful!) character & I bought a box of assorted pastelitos & another, smaller box of croquetas to bring to the hospital. For me, I had a café con leche & a meat empanada. Usually I like baked empanadas, but I was stressed &, well, «when in Rome(or in a Cuban bakery)… I went back the next day for more! This time I had a papa rellena(sp?) & it’s the BEST I’ve ever had! The potato was smooth & creamy & the outside was perfectly lightly fried & the inside ground meat was delicious! My husband texted me for the name of the place — the nurses were asking! I can tell they’re known for their breads and… there’s even WHOLEWHEAT! I saw bags of little garlic rolls that people kept buying. I can also tell they’re known for their sandwiches — huge croissant/roll w/ham & cheese that gets melted in the press thingy. I saw you can order cakes & I’m sure there’s more — I can’t wait to go back & try more!
