Short sweet and to the point! Amazing one of the best breakfast I’ve had. Coffee is great. People are friendly.

LOVE this little hole the wall place! expect what you pay here, the breakfast menu runs about $ 5/meal. don’t come here looking for fancy yogurt and granola or specialty omelets. a small space, with a counter up front where you can place coffee orders and they’ll make you your coffee/espresso, and the rest of the place is like a small diner. they have funny chinese zodiac place mats even though it’s a cuban restaurant. the hash browns were crispy, hot and so good! haven’t been here for lunch yet, but will try it out!

It’s a hole in the wall but you will get your breakfast served exactly the way you want it. If you decided to sit at the counter you will have instant service within an arms reach away. The Cuban coffee is delicious, it will give you mounds of energy for hours. The owner and all the people working there were very personable. We chatted with him for a while and it turns out he is also originally from New York. We had the bacon and egg special and it came with yummy buttered cuban bread and french fries and coffee all for like $ 3. They do charge an additional service fee to order breakfast when it’s not breakfast time which I kind of though was just silly, but whatever. It’s not like the place is expensive to begin with. We also grabbed some empanadas to go. Apparently they don’t make all different types of empanadas. They made specific types on specific days. On the day we went it was ham and cheese day. We ordered a bunch. The crust was nice but when you bit into it after the cheese was all melted the inside seemed really hollow. It was still tasty nonetheless just not very filling.

I am visiting from LA and all I wanted was an awesome authentic Cuban sandwich before my flight home. From the reviews this seemed like the place to go to feed my craving. As I was ordering said cubano, the owner interrupted and said I really must try this amazing beef stew. Not wanted to be discourteous but set on my cubano I said I’d try a small portion of it. Little did I know that he told the waitress to completely change my order to just beef stew and rice. This could have been endured if only the stew was as amazing as described. Meat: over cooked and dry– he claimed it was melt in your mouth Stew: cold, tasting somewhat like canned stew… no, it was exactly like canned stew… no, it was absolutely canned stew, with big junks of potato added. Rice: again, over cooked into mush Beans: they were beans… not much else could be said Salad: shredded lettuce and three slices of tomato, honestly, the most enjoyable part of the meal. You know, knowing that I’m visiting from another state, he could at least tried to leave me with a better impression of Cuban food and manners. I guess only locals get the good stuff, everyone else gets pushed old stew from yesterday that they need to get rid of. I couldn’t even finish it, I knew I’d hate myself it I did. WARNINGALLTOURISTS: you do not belong here and they will make sure you know it by the time you leave. Better off going to Pizza Hut for good Cuban food.

Wow. This little hole in the wall really was good. 4 – 5 tables plus counter seats. Beer, wine and Cuban Coffee. The espresso con azucar was epic. Try the Cuban especial sandwich(comes with extra meat and cheese)

Delicious cheap food. The empanadas are amazing and dirt cheap. I love small diners like these.

Excellent food, great prices and friendly service. Literally a hole in the wall with a counter and just a few tables. Many locals and regular customers. English is not their first language, but they patiently put up with me. They serve authentic, simple Cuban food(the only other place that comes close is my favorite place in Tampa). I had a pounded-out grilled steak with onions, plantains, rice and beans, and coffee with milk. All for just under $ 10. They take credit cards as long as the bill is over $ 4. The only drawback is that they close at 5pm.

I’ve had better Cuban sandwiches elsewhere. This one is dry and didn’t cook long enough for the cheese to melt. The pork is fatty and inedible. But the plantains are delicious.

This is the Ben’s Chili Bowl of Miami. For non-DC people, Ben’s is probably the most iconic place in Washington, authentic DC flavor and food. My friend and I needed a relatively quick place to stop on the way out of town and wanted authentic Cuban food. It’s the real deal — the cubano is HUGE and yummy(although for me I could use a bit more pickle). Plantains were perfectly fried. The people working behind the counter were lovely and the service was quick. The best thing about Las Palmas is the vibe. It’s legit, no frills, and affordable.($ 16 for two huge sandwiches and two orders of plantains). Loved it.

I’m a huge fan of no-frills restaurants, and this is a great one. The store front is small and open-air. Las Palmas has been there for 30 years, and it has the feel of a place with some history and character. The food looks and tastes like mom cooked it. I had the Cubano Especial sandwich with a café Cubano to finish, and my friend had the chicken fajitas. Both were stellar. The sandwich was loaded with pork and ham. I tried some of the fajitas as well, which my friend ordered with beans & rice and yucca. The fajita meet was cooked perfectly, the rice & beans were well-spiced, and the yucca was great. All-in the meal cost $ 22, tip included. I’d recommend this place to anyone.

Great spot. I don’t think I’ve ever waited more than 5 minutes from the time I order to the time my meal is in front of me. Prices are good, food is super tasty Cuban fare. I love the breaded chicken, it’s very flavorful and always hits the spot.

This review is specifically related to the amazing Colada. If you need to get up or stay up, this is the place to go. Gives you the energy you need and for only $ 1.50 it’s a great deal. My boy J also says they have great breakfast.

Good Cuban Especial! The bread was crisp and fresh. Nice medley of flavors and cooked well. Love how they served with potato sticks. It’s definitely a hole in the wall, but it’s authentic. Don’t be afraid to sit down and take it all in.

Came here in person since I though it was so good the last time… Ordered the grilled chicken with mashed potatoes and plantains. Chicken came oily Mashed potatoes tasted fake/store bought(don’t know how to explain this) Plantains were awesome Customer service was not friendly And my food took forever to come Everything was $ 8.88 so you get what you pay for

Cilantro chicken(I think it’s the Thursday especial del dia) + Sweet, Sweet Plantains + Moros = Thumbs Up. Less greasy and better than some of the other hole-in-the-walls in downtown. Las Palmas delivers to Brickell — round up some co-twerkers in your office and order en masse.
