I’ve had this spot bookmarked for a long time, finally tried it tonight. I’ve read some bad reviews on here and generally the rating would probably keep some away, but if you’re reading this trust me and ignore those bad reviews. I would hope that a customer eating here isn’t coming for a quick and cheap meal — there’s plenty of spots like that in this town. However, what there aren’t a lot of is Indian restaurants. The time to serve food was admittedly slower than average, but the quality of food definitely explains why. I wouldn’t go to my grandmother’s house expecting her to whip up some authentic Cuban dishes for me in 10 minutes. That same idea goes for the authenticity of the dishes at Mint. So get over that if you’re coming here to eat. With that said, this is one of those small spot in the wall type places. There’s only about 10 or so tables inside. For me, that’s a plus because I am not a fan of loud and crowded places. For the space, they have done well to create a laid back and comfortable vibe. It is very clean and peaceful inside. And before getting to the food, I’ll quickly add that the service was great. Complimentary bread with sauces was served. Our water was constantly filled. And the waiter(Lazaro) was very friendly and spoke with us about our meals, recommended certain items, and made sure we were content with everything. I believe even the chef came to ask us about the food, as did the manager. All were kind and made me and my girlfriend feel very welcome on our first visit. Now the food. Fresh, well cooked, and flavorful. This dishes were all unique. We had a couple skewer style dishes for appetizers — one was chicken and one was cheese. Both were great. House hot sauce was fire hot and went well with the chicken. My girlfriend ordered lamb chops for her main course and I ordered a shredded chicken filled crêpe. FANTASTIC! Everything as so good it will be hard not to order it again next time but we both want to experiment with more items on the vast menu. For dessert we had a shredded carrot and ice cream dish that was light and sweet. Very good as well. Food, drinks(sangria and Indian lager), ambiance, service all A+. I appreciate food made with time, patience, respect, and care. If you don’t, try McDonalds. Thank you, Mint! You made our night. We will be back soon!

Staying in a nearby hotel on business and was craving Indian. Saw this place was within walking distance and decided to give it a shot despite some of the mixed reviews on here, and was very pleasantly surprised. The staff was extraordinarily friendly and efficient. Very good service. I ordered chicken tikka, vegetable biryani and garlic naan. All were very good, nicely cooked and spiced. It’s not the best Indian food I’ve ever eaten, but certainly excellent and I’d happily stop by again next time I’m in Miami.

Service the best and the food that follows exquisite. They updated their China and increased portion size! Yeah won’t have to cook tomorrow! Everything is authentic appropriately seasoned and not overly spicey. The food is fresh and colorful. The servers are well educated and attentive. New ownership and management are taking this establishment to the next level. Go you will be happy you did!

Let me paint a picture for you… Friday night, 6pm party of 1, empty restaurant. Not a single indian staff member(reflag). You pay 35.00 for a vegetarian dish which takes 45 minutes to prepare(no one has yet to set foot in the restaurant in that timeframe), food arrives is mediocre at best and portion is microscopic, but since you paid so much you ask for some small boxes to take your food to go so you can doctor it up at home. The waitstaff insists on packing your food for you so you let them. You get home and 5 different curries and rice are all slopped together in a takeout tray… epic fail. I’ve been going to indian restaurants my whole life. This is the WORSTINDIANRESTAURANTINSOUTHFLORIDABYFAR. This place is a ghost town with the waiters chasing people down who even dare to glance at the menu. Its a shame that they dare bare the woodlands group name(an amazing vegetarian indian restaurant in Broward). Agree with the previous review. You are better off buying frozen or going somewhere else.

Let me start by stating that this is NOT a PAID review. We decided to give Mint Leaf a try since we live within walking distance. Our first experience with Indian food was with Bombay Darbar, and we were hoping for the same flavors and experience here, boy were we wrong. First; they didn’t have a drink menu so we were just told by the waiter what beverages they had. We both went with the Indian beer they had, which was not too bad. We ordered the garlic naan, which was not very flavorful and not up to par next to other well known Indian restaurants in the area’s naan. We ordered the Mint Leaf platter, the best thing on the platter was the salmon. The waiter kept coming by asking if we liked the food, as if she could see I was not happy at all. The platter did not come with any rice, which was disappointing. You would think rice was included with every dish since this is an Indian restaurant, rice is a big part of their culture and cuisine. Nope, if you want rice you have to pay separately for it. Just some advice if you’re looking for Indian food, make the trip to Bombay Darbar, you will not be disappointed. After writing this review I received a message from someone who seems to work at Mint Leaf: «why do you lie, you didn’t even come to the restaurant today and how you can write the reviews, so let me ask you how much the other restaurant paid you to write all the garbages.» I would like to state again, that your food is not up to par with other Indian restaurants in the Miami area. It’s unfortunate that a business that has 3 stars, would take the comments of customers and work towards improving their quality of food. To the person who insisted on writing me this message, you’re right I did not come into the restaurant today. We came in about a month ago, and will not be returning.

Just had my first Indian dining experience and I loved it. The food was delicious. We ordered the mint leaf platter and there wasn’t a single item on it that I did not enjoy. The service was also exceptional. Mario was very attentive and gave us some great recommendations, which was very helpful since I had never tried any of the things on the menu. Overall, an amazing dining experience.

After so many years living in this area I had not tried the Mint Leaf Indian restaurant. As a big fan of Indian food I went during lunch with a few friends and thought it was great. Food was fresh and flavorful the staff was very attentive and very nice. Sad that it wasnt as full as expected being that its a clean place, good service great portions of food and very well priced. I truly enjoyed this place and will return again. I urge if in the area give it a try!!!

You are better off buying a frozen, five dollar box of paneer tikka masala by Tandoor Chef in the frozen section of Publix or Whole Foods. I am extremely disappointed and upset right now. An hour ago I ordered the paneer tikka masala through a delivery service, and I called the restaurant to verify my order. I asked the person on the phone whether the curry comes with naan bread or chutney, to which they replied«no, it doesn’t come with anything.» Fine, I thought. Curry always comes with rice, right? Wrong. My order just arrived and for my $ 14.00 spent, I received a medium sized container of curry ONLY. No freaking rice with this rich, succulent, red curry. What in the actual ____? In what universe does an Indian restaurant not include at least RICE with an order of curry? I called to voice my complaint and the person on the other line told me that the orders in fact do not come with ANYTHING, and that rice is extra, a la carte. I am beyond infuriated. They offered no consolation except to tell me that the«next time» I order, I will receive a free serving of rice. Ummmmm, there will be no such next time. This is just ridiculous.

(they are under new ownership) I must say the service is outstanding, the chef came to our table to check on us several times and the staff was very attentive as well. The food is delicious especially the parata, daal makni, and the butter chicken… This is authentic delicious food that is cooked to perfection…

Let’s start with food — had the samosas, pakoras, cheese & chili naan — everything was phenomenal. You can tell the chef puts love into the food, no frozen samosas here, they’re fresh and perfect! The service is remarkable — super attentive staff and very friendly. I highly recommend eating here if you love good Indian food.

If you love spicy, well seasoned South Asian food you must give this place a try. I have been coming to this place for years and have always been a fan of their lunch Thali. It consists of a main curry dish(vegetarian, chicken, lamb or prawn), rice, dal(lentil stew), raita(yogurt based sauce), salad, vegetable stew and bread. I absolutely love it and the portions are generous. I always recommend coming for lunch since the Thali for that time is a better deal than the a-la-carte dinner items. Sometimes they have given me the regular menu instead of the Thali menu, if this is the case don’t worry, just ask for the Thali menu. Also, ask for the chutneys(sweet and spicy homemade jams) they don’t usually serve them with your food unless you ask for it. The samosas(sort of empanadas) and desserts are excellent as well. I specially enjoy the gulab jamun(deep fried dough in light syrup, sometimes the syrup is rose scented — hmmmm). I rarely see the owner during the day but once I came for dinner at night and he was serving everybody complimentary champagne, who doesn’t love that? Anyways, love this place, come give it a try.

We will not be returning to Mint Leaf. As local Coral Gables residents we explore and frequent all of the local businesses within the community. Having said this we have been to Mint Leaf no less than 5 times and every time we leave I always felt the need/want to express my dissapoint with at least 2 or 3 incidents at any given time. Servers = Rude(Especially the Spanish female) Slow = I’ve watched people get up and leave Marginal = Food is overcooked but flavorful Expensive = Prices should be about 30% less based on quality and other more impressive Indian restaurants. All in all a major dissapointment. We wanted it to be good and we wanted it to get better but it appears that’s just not in Mint Leafs cards. If they don’t turn this around its my kind assumption that this location will end up just like the Brickell location; closed.

In restaurant business they say there are three attributes that count i.e. location, location and location. If true, this place has all the three attributes. If you ask, is there anything that was disappointing, it would be just two Food and Service, but then if you understand restaurant business, you would know by now that these two attributes obviously don’t count in top three. This restaurant is listed on Unilocal but I doubt any Unilocaler has said anything about this restaurant’s cool location. Great anchor, stay anchored leafy, minty oops did some one say Indian ;)

Service was horrible, prices were high, but food was very good. We had a late lunch here with a group of 4. There were only two other tables at the restaurant so the issue was not related to it being packed. We had a few questions about the menu and our waiter seemed to be from another planet. Even basic things like what the lunch special came with seemed to take over 10 minutes to get out of him! He was clearly a native Spanish speaker so we even had our Spanish speaking friend try to communicate with him — no dice! We ordered tea and coffee and the tea didn’t done out until 15 minutes after the coffee came out! On to the good stuff. The food. It was all very very good. The lamb curry and chicken tikka were both outstanding. We also got some extra naan to finish off all the curry. The prices were on the high side(around $ 20 for the lunch special with 2 meats) but this may just be the going price for indian food in Miami. If they fix their service issues this could be a great spot!
