I am from Washington DC and I have visited this bakery for the last 5 yrs whenever I am in Miami. I have found it to be the best bakery for Haitian sweets. The Haitian cake, lemonade, coconut cakes, patties, and tablet de pistash candies are my favorite items. Its a mom & pop establishment with friendly folks.

This place is well known for there bread loaf’s and patties which are baked on site. I opted for the Haitian patties filled with ground beef(equivalent to empanadas but smaller in size and spicer in taste). The patties were OK, I typically like them baked softer and the meat more spicer. I’m pretty shocked that this was not the case here as years ago this was the come to spot for Haitian baked goods. The patties I got were hard which causes it to be less flaky and contained less meat than I am accustomed too. I only speak English and did not find it to be a problem here as another review indicated. If I am in the area, I will try them again. My recommendation is to purchase one quantity of what your looking for and try it before buying a large quantity and being disappointed as I was.

delicious haitian bread. Amazing AK-100. Horrible patties. Hardly any taste. I also hate when they make the filling into a paste instead of actually filling it in with the meats. Not a fan and as a Haitian, I KNOW my patties.

While waiting at the traffic light, I became curious about this place because the parking lot was crowded, and I could see lots of customer activity going on. That was a good sign. I had to find out why, and I did. Inside people were lined up getting loaves of fresh hot Haitian bread and patties filled with different meats that resembled empanadas. I did not speak Creole and the young woman serving me spoke limited English, but my eyes detected DELICIOUS sweets in the display cases. I purchased: 1. brown sugar candies similar to New Orleans pralines, but these candies were heaping, full of nut meats, rather than mostly sugar, peanuts and cashews and coconut. I was very impressed with the coconut«praline» because it was strongly flavored with ginger. YUM! 2. narrow pie-shaped«leche» candies flavored with almond. YUM! 3. thick wedge-shaped carrot bread and sweet potato bread. They were moist, dense and full of flavor. YUM! Everything I purchased was FRESH, FLAVORFUL, and INEXPENSIVE. I shall return. Next time I will buy the popular meat patties and dense Haitian bread that are highly recommended by other reviewers.

One of the best Haitian patty places in Miami. I stop by there in the morning at times to treat myself to a taste of home. The patties are reminiscent of the ones I loved from my childhood in Haiti. Hot, flaky and tasty! They offer flavors like beef, chicken and codfish. Each has a good level of spiciness, so be careful if spicy is not your thing.

If you never had Haitian bread it is sort of like Cuban bread but much more dense. You have to check out the bread here simply amazing. Make sure to get it in the morning when they bake it. Comes out hot, and just tastes so ridiculously amazing.

Yum! Yum! Yum! Great Haitian Bakery. Great Haitian bread. The Best bread I have ever tasted. This is pretty much what we come here for. Their patties are good as well. The only setback is the long line. Perhaps best to come early.

Well, I came here because of the following reasons: 1. Increased personal interest in Little Haiti’s offerings 2. Big parking lot, fanced, somewhat modern signage(for Little Haiti, it is) 3. Plenty of cars parked on site 4. They seem to be in the middle of modernizing the interiors and applying fresh coat of paint to the walls, painting an elaborate mural of Haiti. And upon walking in, there was a small line. Walked out to get cash from an ATM machine across the street upon finding that it’s cash only, and walked back in to find an even longer line, nearly to the door. And the long line was a blessing — I was able to see what was popular. It’s not the huge slices of the various types of cakes(although admittingly, they look really good and I was really tempted to order some), not the typical Haitian sweets, breads, or anything that was in the display case(they did not offer too much, but they did offer more than the other Haitian bakeries I had visited prior to this place). Practically everyone ordered the«pates»(Haitian pastelitos) and they were getting both of the only two kinds that are offered here. Beef and lobster pastelitos that were stored in the small warmer in the back and selling like hot cakes. You read that right. Lobster pastelitos. I was confused — lobster is expensive, no? And in Little Haiti? Heck, I just ordered two of each! Result: Flaky, warm, fresh-tasting pastelitos with spicy minced beef and the others with minced lobster were both tasty and filling. I would definitely order them again — especially considering that these were only a dollar a pop($ 1 each). I wouldn’t hesitate to return. CASHONLY

Pretty good Haitian bakery. If you go in the morning get yourself a fresh loaf of Haitian bread. Make sure you eat it within a couple of hours though or it’ll harden so much you can kill a man with it! Another really good option are the pates(pronounced Pah-tays). They are the Haitian equivalent of pastelitos. They are made with puff pastry and come in a beef or cod fish filling, both of which are very good. Live a little! Go get yourself some Haitian baked goods in the ‘hood!
