Today I ate lunch at a place called Pollo Tropical. Seemingly, a relative of Chipotle: rice, beans and chicken with some vegetables and such, you know, the usual. Upon the arrival of my dish(disgracefully named the TropiChop) I learned that while they may look like relatives, Pollo Tropical does not believe in the same freshness we have come to know from our friends at Chipotle. Nor does Pollo Tropical believe in food that has a taste. Tasteless food aside, their excuse for brown rice is white rice with black beans on top, so that it looks slightly brown. If anything, Pollo Tropical is that weird cousin of Chipotle that no one talks about, and mercifully sits outside at Thanksgiving because everyone is embarrassed that they had to invite him. Needless to say, I am missing our lunch ventures to Chipotle. I hope you are making better decisions than I.

Easily one of the best Pollo Tropical locations. Situated in the main building of FIU, GC, Pollo Tropical serves all of FIU community. So, it’s always packed. Despite it being packed however, your food will be ready relatively quickly. I feel that of all Pollo Tropical locations, this one has the freshest food. You can always see them cooking the chicken. Love this Pollo Tropical!
