Funky hip dive bar — that’s within walking distance to other cool spots? I am sold. PS14 is smack dab in the middle of Vagabond and the White Room so hey — see what’s cookin’ in the midst of things. They have the best people(door | bar | dj) working here! If you don’t act like a punk you get treated w/respect. PS14 keeps it real …

This is on the same block as White Room and next to the Vagabond. It’s the smallest one and also the most low key. I like the pool table and and the size. However, I think this place is hit or miss and much depends on the band playing. I’d love to see this place do well so I am tempted to say that the owners should think about how to re-define it to be either more different from or more complimentary to its neighbors.

Cool spot but be careful with parking your car because it’s a dangerous neighborhood.

I dub this place«MEH.» I almost always come to PS14 to catch a friend’s band playing. The space is a cool hole-in-the-wall. If you manage to get a spot on the couches, it’s a nice place to hang out and have a couple of drinks with your buds. Two things I don’t get: 1) Bathroom placement. It’s up front right by the stage. I know they have to deal with what they have, but when there’s a show going on, I always find it difficult to navigate through the crowd to get up front and to the bathroom. 2) Outside lighting. My complaint has lessened since they seem to have added some ambiance lighting around this area since last I came. Most of the time it’s pitch black and spooky. All in all, it’s all right. I can’t say I have ever had a great time coming here, but I can’t pinpoint a big reason why. Maybe if they added a pool table or something interesting to look at. I dunno. I’d rather venture to the über-ghetto and spend my money on drinks at Churchill’s instead.

Its alright. It used to be better when most nights were free, remember«FREE»? theres always this guy on a blackberry doing the door who is SO firm on the cover charge. the drinks aren’t too expensive. i remember bands used to play here. i love how beatup it is. and it is in the middle of paradise: downtown/overtown

This place isn’t bad. My friend knows the owner so I’ve been getting pretty special treatment in here during my stay here in Miami while I shoot the reality show I’ve been working on here. The bar seems cool. Prices aren’t bad although I think a lot of the shit we’ve been drinking has been comped… but I don’t know cause I’m ususally not paying. Tonight there was a cool little hip hop party going on. For some reason every fucking person in Miami drink Heineken every fucking chance they get… it’s the strangest thing to me. They claim it’s the best beer you can get in Miami, even though they sell all kinds of beer. I don’t know what that has to do with this club, but I saw a lot of people drinkin Heineken tonight in that bitch! Club is clean and fun and has a lot of girls. Decent selection of beer too. Plus it’s within walking distance of a bunch of other clubs and it’s close to where I’ve been living for the past 2 months in Little Haiti. Well close for an LA boy that doesn’t know Miami…

Solid, casual, inexpensive place to hang out. It’s part of this new area that’s slowly springing up night spots. It’s small in the in-side, but they have a good size backyard. They usually set up a dj outside, so if you don’t like what’s going on inside, you can venture out back. This place caters to the more humble local crowd, as opposed to the S. Beach elite. If you come, be prepared to be real and be prepared to ROCK-IT!

I really like this place. It has a good mix of people, not the usual frou-frou crowd that you find at most Miami spots. Good drinks, a pool table, inside/outside areas. All in a shady part of town, yup my kinda place. The only thing that pisses me off is that they always charge some b.s. admission for random nights but whatever. This past Saturday they had an alternative band inside and Jeru da Damaja outside. Both performances were great the bathrooms were not. Ladies learn to squat in the alley(or not) seriously an hour wait for bathrooms, good place to meet Mr. Right or Mr. Right Now(just sayin).

im surprised ps14 wasn’t even listed on , so here it goes. ps14 is fun, its tiny but its really fun. oh and theres a patio in the back so thats good too. theres usually two dj’s spinnin, one inside and one outside(duh) and ive heard about every genre here. indie, hip-hop, drum & bass, electronica, cumbia, you get the idea. check on their website for a schedule, but just so you get an idea. wednesday nights, girls drink free til midnight and there’s a little bbq going on in the patio. yes. bbq! so as you can see, this place is unique. also, they carry a nice selection of beers, including chimay, delirium tremens, boddingtons, lambic, among many many others. drinks are about 8 $ each and the bartenders are quick and helpful.(and cute) also, cover price to get in is usually 5 $ or even 3 $ and sometimes free. you might want to check their myspace page or give them a call. fun place to hang out with locals!
