DOGET: Croquetta preparada, strawberry milkshake This place always has wonderful and delicious food. It mostly serves sandwiches(like 15 different kinds) on cuban bread(I think) and they have some entrees. The service is hit or miss and for some reason they don’t usually check up on you to see if you need anything, which explains the missing star. However, their food has never disappointed and I’ve been here many times.

Cleanliness altogether isn’t too bad for being on 8st but I will say the subs here are amazing!!!

This place is just plain gross! I don’t care how delicious their sandwiches are. Walk in & look up at the dead roaches in their light fixtures. What is that??? Do people not care ??

Not good. They pulled out a pre-made sandwich, and reheated it. It was not worth the price I paid.

Wow! This restaurant left us speechless! i eat a lot of Cuba sandwiches(they are my favorite) but the sandwiches here was hands down, above and beyond anything I have ever had! The portions are large and the appetizers are delicious too. overall prices were good.

It truly is one of the best spots for sandwiches in Miami! I highly recommended the original churrasco sandwich. It comes with homemade bread, house sauce, and shoe string potato chips. This is a must. Wash it down with a Cuban soda, and finish it off with a cuatro leche!

You get a dollar off when you check in yayy. I enjoyed my Milanesa Steak here. I haven’t had a sandwich in a while. Although they are famous for their bread, it’s too much for me.(have to go easy with the carbs) Didn’t like the sticky floor, but always a good place that is not packed and enjoy sandwich, latin food and a good milk shake.

tl;dr: solid cuban sandwiches and coladas for someone on the go This place is right next to FIU, so it’s very easy to get to. The subs are good(I especially like the chorizo one), but nothing extraordinary. The coladas are very strong and delicious. Overall, good for a quick, convenient bite to eat or if you are on the go.

The prices, are on point! The only thing I’ve eaten from here has been the churrasco wraps and the plantains. I am very easy to please, and if I really find something that I am a fan of, I dont tend to experiment. lol They have a garlic cilantro sauce, thats also on point! Definitely recommend!

Good and cheap place for cuban sandwiches. They are good but not life changing. Maybe I need to go and visit the original some time and see if there is a difference. I usually go in for the pan con bistec or the Churrasco sandwich. Though I usually get the 8 inch, I still get really full and can only eat half. This place is also famous because their sandwich was featured on Man vs. Food. Its huge! I mean its stacked with different slices of pork meat, then smothered with potato sticks and Sarussi Sauce. Its impressive and large, but didn’t taste that great. Give me my pan con bistec any day. But then again, I can get this at any corner Latin American Grill. Sarussi sauce«insert less than sign» Poyo Poyo Sauce at Pollo Tropical

This place is known for the Cuban Sandwich so that’s what I went with. The sandwich itself was ok but the bread wasn’t very good. If you like cubans then you may want to try this place but I guess I’m not a big fan. Service was good and the place is clean.

Good sandwich place, but not the same as the original location. Sarussi has locations across Miami, but this location actually differs from the original on 8th St and 67th Ave. Sarussi sells your normal cuban cuisine, but it’s known for their giant sandwiches. They sell a cuban sandwich that reaches 16″ in length! They’re huge, they’re unhealthy, and they’re damn good. We knew we had to order the large 16″ sandwich. Me and my friend split it in an attempt to down it all(and make it cheaper for us). Their Sarussi Original cuban is a blend of smoked ham, baked pork, mozzarella cheese, and their special sauce. The special sauce is what many people love about the place. But the lady making our sandwich barely put any on it. You can order some extra on the side, but we didn’t bother. The sandwich was really good though. They toast it in this pizza oven so that the mozzarella cheese melts over the meat. The bread used for the sandwich is also brushed with this garlic butter to make your arteries feel that much worse. The ham and the pork make a great combo(as always) and meshes really well with the whole sandwich. Overall, a very good sandwich, but probably not up to the ridiculous standards held by many due to the hype. Try the original location. Not that this place is bad. The menu is relatively the same, but the portion sizes and even the taste was different(maybe it was just me?) In any case, this is still a great place to grab a bite if you’re in the area, especially if you’re an FIU student. Real close by.

Pretty amazing. Sarussi Bistec is probably one of the best sandwiches on the planet. I could eat a 16 inch all by myself, which is pretty disgusting. It’s not expensive at all considering the size of the sandwich. Although, what’s weird is the 16 inch is 1 cent more expensive than buying two 8 inches. Weird stuff. Really great food.

Great sandwiches! My favorite is the BBQ, Original and Churrasco! If you like you can ask for extra sauce they will bring you a bottle. note being a cuban restaurant obviously english is not there strength. So since most of us have taken spanish in grade school, its time to brushen up on it don’t you think? This is Miami :) If not, just point to the items on the menu, pretty simple. Also they have free wi-fi so you can use your english to spanish translation app on your iphone/Ipad/blackberry, etc

Sarussi has been on my Miami must-eats for what seems like forever. When my friend asked me if I wanted to go there one night for dinner, I immediately opened my schedule to ensure that it happened. I knew exactly what I was going to get, a Sarussi original. I had a $ 15 gift certificate to spend so paired it with a batido de mamey and covered his sandwich too. Not a bad deal when you consider the amount of food you are getting. The sandwich was pretty much exactly what I envisioned it would be. The bread was super-buttery, the sauce was special(although we had to ask for more) and the stuffing was plenty. The 8-inch was more than enough especially when I had the batido on the side. If you’ve never had a batido, or Cuban milkshake, you really should try one here! Mamey is a special kind of tropical fruit, not too sweet but extra-delicious! Their milkshakes aren’t huge so don’t overpower the meal but like I said before, that and one half of the sandwich filled me up. It wasn’t crowded at all and we sat at the bar for quick service(although it did require some Spanish speaking skills). Overall, the place is really casual and a nice pit-stop when you’re craving some Cuban cuisine.

OK, this is NOT«the» Cuban sandwich. A Cuban sandwich is filled with ham, pork, cheese, pickles, and grilled on a «plancha». Sarussi’s sandwiches are a variation of the typical Cuban sandwich you can find anywhere in Miami. I love Sarussi’s greasy goodness. Their secret sauce definitely makes the sandwich. Is it mind-blowing? No. But it’s damn good and something I get cravings for every once a while. Maybe it’s because you can’t get anything nearly as good as a Sarussi sandwich in NY. Absence makes the heart grow fonder…

Wow Sarussi has changed. I used to go to their original location when I was kid, and before leaving back home to Orlando, tried the newer locale across from FIU last week. I ordered the Churassco sandwich, and was not impressed. I remember this sandwich resembling a Philly Cheese Steak back in the day, but this was just great big hunks of meat on dry hard, oily bread, with potato stix and cheese, and their special sauce which tasted like Smokey ketchup. It reminded me of a sub-par pan con bistec. Maybe it was an off day? But I am not sure I’ll eat here again when I come back to Miami. Next time I need my sandwich fix I’ll try one of the Latin America’s that my dad swears bye… lol

Excellent Cuban sandwiches, but only three stars because nobody speaks English in the joint. I know it’s a Cuban café in Miami, but it is still the English speaking USA after all. Hopefully you watched«Sesame Street» or played Uno as kids because you’re going to need those Spanish counting abilities when you venture into Sarussi’s. It’s worth a trip, language barriers and all.
