I was at the hospital for a week and a half. In that week and a half I probably went to this Starbucks three times a day. My coffee was made just as I wanted it but it was never hot. I started getting the hang of it so when I placed my order at the end I would say extra hot. Nobody there was ever friendly by any means, and the Starbucks itself was never very clean.

A god send. I work across the street and though there is a dunkin donuts a few blocks away, and a coffee beanery, the convenience, cleanliness and service of this place have me constantly smiling.

Ok, so this is a brand new Starbucks in the main lobby of the University of Miami Hospital. It opened just a few weeks ago and today was my first time visiting. Right of the bat, the lady asking me for my order was not friendly at all and seemed frustrated. Fine. The lady at the register, Rosa, was super nice. I got my coffee promptly, and the lady that gave me the coffee was nice. Since I have to walk back to my office I asked for a lid stopper thingy, whatever it’s called, but they ran out. Hmmm, I guess I just have to be careful walking. So… the jury is still out, the coffee is decent, I’ll give it a few more tries. Anyways, this is a private Starbucks store and according to them, they don’t participate in the national program like the refills for members and such. This Starbucks does not give you the feeling that you are really in a Starbucks Coffee Shop. There’s no magic. No charm. It looks like a Starbucks, it just doesn’t feel like one. It’s ike the entire Starbucks culture is missing from this one. Maybe it is just me. I’m curious how others feel about it and if it will get better.
