Nice and friendly place in downtown Miami. Healthy, tasty, made by real chefs that’s why it is always creative !! Try the cupcakes and juices ! The concept is original, they have books and they also promote local artist. Back to earth, far away from the glittering Miami

I came on Valentine’s Day since I heard they were offering very creative and delicious pastries. I bought a chocolate cupcake with chocolate mousse filling and a sugar rose as a garnish. The macarons looked amazing!!!

There is nothing that I miss more about working in downtown than this place. I highly recommend their raw oatmeal, flourless /dairy free chocolate cookie, ANY of their delicious soups, their shiitake mushroom tofu salad, beet and walnut spread sandwich, portobello sun dried tomato hummus sandwich, freshly squeezed juices or daily surprise lemonades… Simply AMAZING!!!

This little plaza amid downtown financial buildings has so many nice surprises! One of them definitely being The Newsstand. Although the name is affiliated with Books & Books, the staff working there let us know that they really do their own thing. From the Panther coffee and tea, to homemade sweet treats and lunch offerings, they are independent of the other shops but still bring the same vibe. It’s a tiny shop so there aren’t too many places to sit, but we snagged a spot at a hightop table by the window which was just fine for doing some work for a couple of hours. I tried some of the iced tea which was a great afternoon pick me up, accompanied by a super rich and divine chocolate truffle. They have a few books and pieces from local artists scattered around which are great to peruse. All in all, a nice little spot to hang out in any morning or afternoon!

The Newsstand Café by Books and Books is located in DT Miami and it’s great. It’s a cute little book store with great food and Panther coffee. All of their food is prepared in-house with fresh, local ingredients. Salads, sandwiches and amazing desserts by pastry chef Malka Espinel. It’s tiny but if you can grab a spot, it’s a great place to work from for the morning or afternoon. Their wifi is protected, but we just asked for the password. So it wasn’t very fast but it worked. Tons of great natural light via the glass store front. Loved that. They also feature local artists — you can check their site for who they are featuring at any time. I liked that you could just grab a book and relax while you are checking it out too. They also have outdoor seating if it’s a nice day! Stop in here for a relaxing cup of coffee and yummy treats!

This is a wonderful addition to the staid downtown scene. The sandwiches and desserts are fresh and creative, and I love to peruse the books while waiting for the chow. Also, the employees are usually outgoing and pleasant to chat with, which makes for a welcome retreat, however brief, from the travails of office life.

What can I say? East access to Panther Coffee, friendly staff and a full set of coffee add ins. Great addition to downtown Miami so I don’t have to always have Starbucks or overpriced Illy.

I have had a couple of sandwiches here and breakfast. The quality of the food is good. I recently began ordering cappuccinos. I love that they carry Panther Coffee, however, the baristas really need to be trained on how to make the special coffee drinks. I have ordered a cappuccino about four times. All, but one time, I could tell that the correct technique is not being used to make the cappuccino. Instead of the froth on top coming out nice and creamy smooth(you know when you can actually see a design form in the froth), the froth is just… frothy, not smooth at all, not creamy at all. It comes out the way it would from those automatic coffee machines. I know that they have the right equipment to make the cappuccino correctly – the way it would come out in the actual Panther Coffee shop or any other specialty coffee shop – because one guy, who works the afternoon shift(taller, heavy set, maybe some facial hair-I don’t remember) made it PERFECTLY! My suggestion would be to have all of the baristas re-trained to make the coffee so that it comes out the same way you would find it in a specialty coffee shop. I really like the uniqueness of this café, and will continue to support it, by purchasing food, however, it would be fantastic if the baristas developed the chops to make that specialty cappuccino.

New management. Cleaned up the store. Simplified and streamlined. Got rid of te shelves, added more options for snacks and food while maintaining panther coffee

I was pleasantly surprised to learn that this Books & Books outpost serves up some delicious lunch offerings in addition to coffee, fro yo, and of course, books. The space is small, but they make the most of it. For lunch, they’re serving up grilled cheese on Zak the Baker’s homemade sourdough. You can add your choice of meat and fixins, and a side salad and walk out for under $ 10. They also have salads — include a yummy-looking kale-and-tuna-salad combo. If you’re looking to indulge your sweet tooth, there’s cupcakes and frozen yogurt. And of course, there’s coffee drinks if you’re in need of a quick caffeine fix. There’s a few counter seats inside and tons of outdoor tables to enjoy your meal/snack/drink. The Newsstand is another great option for a quick and reasonably priced lunch in Downtown.

This is great little coffee shop. First and foremost, the staff is INCREDIBLE! They are so friendly and willing to help. The food is great! Almost everything they sell comes from the local community. The juices are pretty tasty. My favorite is the Paradise Punch. I love their sandwiches especially since they are served on Zac’s Bread(local baker). They taste even better with a Mint Lemonade. Wish they had more variety though. Salads are a little bit of a let down. They are very basic. Compared to other places in the area, they are lacking on vegetable choices. Recently, they added a granola bar that can be customized with several fruit options. I also really enjoy their new soft serve which is made of only fruit, water and sugar cane. You can ask for a free sample. Coffee is from Panther Coffee which is a personal favorite of mine. Rodrigo will make your cappuccino very pretty! Overall, it is a very cozy location both inside and outside. The music is always really great. The books they sell are an interesting read. I really love coming by here on my lunch breaks.

The place is totally underrated — staff is supercool: Coffee is from Panther coffee) n midtown — very very nice. Pastries here are awesome — regarding the croissants — never tried the little cupcakes. Its a nice ambiance where you can get a coffee and read a book, magazine — have a conversation. On top of that they have a selection of fresh squeezed juices. Great spot in downtown for a coffee break.

Have to upgrade them a star. Service was very friendly and helpful, food offerings to soon be expanded and an overall feeling of being welcome was given to me here… The Newsstand is definitely being a good neighbor and wanting to earn my business. I will return.

I’m a little surprised that this place only has 2 stars. I’ve come in a few times already since I moved here and have always been greeted by super friendly people every time. Like seriously, these people act like they like their jobs or something! Great coffee, espresso and fro yo! The fro yo is a tad more than I’d like to spend but you do get a lot for your money, so I let it slide. I look forward to trying the sushi and salads. Oh yeah the bookstore is cute too, but I kind of over look it on my way to the coffee bar. But I can see it coming in handy for the workers in the area or for me even of o need a last minute gift. I do wish they were open later, but whatcha gonna do.

Ok coffee, not great. Big ups to the staff though and very good prices on coffee. They are super friendly and helpful. The location is super convenient as it’s right across the street from my office building, and when I just need a quick caffeine jolt and don’t have time to walk to my favorite coffee place, this place will do the trick.
