We visited Miami, and our friend took us to the Magnum Lounge, a gay piano bar that is dark and seductive. You almost would think it a hangout for vampires. But we spent most of our time next door at The Shack. It was a stark contrast from Magnum — where Magnum was crowded and dark with an older clientele, The Shack was open and light with younger folk, as it is basically a shack in the parking lot. They only had a handful of tables, and that was okay. It didn’t take long for the bartender to take his shirt off. My husband and I ordered the«Lindsay Lohan» — basically, a red-headed slut shot and it was a good-sized pour. They played a lot of older songs like«Love is a Battlefield» and«Groove is in the Heart» — perfect bar music. Although the songs weren’t from the original artists so that was different. I only wish it had been Monday, as they offer $ 2 hot dogs with all the fixin’s on Mondays. Not a whole lot to it, but it was enjoyable, and I wouldn’t mind hanging out there again.
