Best bakery I have eaten at. Love their pastelitos de pollo. They might not make them often but when they do I go l out. Good customer service as well

Ok. So let me start by saying I hope this is a one time incident. I’ve been to this location so many times before but never experienced anything bad, at least not that I know of. But here goes… As my daughter is eating her breakfast guava and cheese pastelito, she cracks it open to find a small roach. Apparently it was in there when the pastry cooked because it was a completely closed pastelito before she cracked it open and had even taken a few bites. I’ll leave the rest to the pictures. I’m kind of disappointed this happened because it was a place I enjoyed going to. To the establishment: please please please be on the lookout for bugs in your establishment. Especially maybe put your foods away at night when bugs come out.

I called the store yesterday to notify them of the find. I asked for the owner but I was told the manager and/​or owner would not be in until today and that they would be calling me back. The lady on the phone was very understanding, asked me when I bought the pastries and took my number down saying the manager or owner would be calling me back tomorrow (which is today). It’s around 2:30 and no call yet. Still waiting and will keep updating the review.

So far they have not let me down. This little hidden gem is my to go place for when I do not have time to make things on my own. They got it all… your typical Cuban bakery with plenty of items to choose from. Savory and sweet. They have pretty good package deals for catering with all kinds of selections. Their cakes are moist, light and the frosting is pretty darn good.
The place is big, clean and the girls hustle behind that counter.
So why did I knock off a star?
I ordered a cake and they wrote in Spanglish. yes they did. Instead of «&» like I requested they put «y» and instead of «congratulationS» they put «congratulation» minor detail but I notice. everything.
Def worth checking out if you are in the area.
Oh did I mention they open at 6:30am??? ohh yea.

Stopped by for a quick cuban sandwich; however, ended up ordering 2 croquetas preparadas and a media noche. Well, let me tell you that I was dissapointed on the food. The croqueta preparada had tons of ham and pork and just two croquetas on the whole sandwich, it was horrible. The media noche didn’t have any taste either, the cheese tasted as if it was cheap american cheese.
Definitely not coming back.
I must say that the service was friendly.

5 bucks for a huge cuban sandwich. the price is great and the sandwich was pretty good. Also, the flan is delicious. The staff thou needs to be a little more attentive. They make one wait when there is no one even in line. But, other then that I will go back anytime for the quick and tasty food.

Worth a drive all the way from north Florida. Every time we are in Miami we make this place a priority. The pastelitos are so good. They have all kinds of cakes and desserts. Huge café con leches to go. The best OJ– freshly squeezed. Warm and soft Cuban bread. This place is a must stop n

Nothing like biting into a pastelito and tasting the filling in each and every bite from beginning to end. The BEST pastelitos in Miami. They’re all massive and stuffed to capacity. Can’t go wrong with the pastelito de queso, guayaba, or carne.

Love this bakery. I grew up in the area, and I really believe this is the best bakery in the area.
The pastelitos are delicious, especially the cheese ones. I ordered a «princess and pirate» birthday cake for my daughter’s birthday and I was really impressed. So they definitely go beyond your typical Cuban delicacies.
I highly recommend it.

I bought pastelitos and croquetas from vicky’s bakery in april 2011 for my daughter’s birthday and they were just delicious. The cake I ordered from there was to die for on how delicious and beautiful it was.
They have just this amazing variety of cakes & all these types of desserts. They have ham&cheese sandwiches, and make the best café con leche.
I love this place and this is definitely my local bakery. I have been to many other bakeries to look for my daughter’s cake and this by far was the best!

When this bakery opened about 4 years ago, the quality of the Cuban pastelitos was fantastic. Moist and soft pastry with a tasty filling typical of any Cuban bakery. In the last year, the quality has significantly decreased. The pastries are dry and the fillings spill out. They are not as sweet. They may be trying to appeal to other Hispanics, but are losing the Cuban touch. May need to start driving a little farther for Karla’s…
