Probably the worst jerk chicken I’ve had since I moved to Chicago 8 years ago. I took a chance on them at Food Truck Festival today in Chicago. I paid $ 10 for the jerk chicken and mac and cheese. I was handed 2 pieces of jerk chicken with no jerk sauce. The mac n cheese looked and tasted like easy mac. I didn’t want to be THAT guy but I was tempted to ask for a refund. Highly disappointed!

Ate from their food truck today with my husband. Cool runnings is the BEST jerk chicken we’ve ever had!(Doesn’t even touch Key West jerk!)

Food was decent. We ordered the oxtail and the jerk chicken. The oxtail and their cabbage was on the salty side. The plantains were dry though. There’s nothing special about the jerk chicken other than meeting standards. Usually that’s always safe at Jamaican joints. Service though, is too slow. Don’t come here rushing. We saw people here waiting for their catering order.

A true Jamaican place, the Jerk chicken is delicious, I ate a whole chicken. The curry goat is delicious as well. I’m hooked for sure on this place. Excellent!

The food was fantastic. Everyone was very friendly. We got the dinner size of the jerk chicken white and it was a whole lot of food! The only bad thing is that they only have 3 stools and a table top to eat so it’s best to order your food as carry out.

Whoa! Had this last weekend at Wickedly Whiting(they had a truck set up) and I was absolutely blown away by their jerk seasoning. Honestly, I had their cabbage dish, too, and it was hands-down the best fried cabbage I’ve ever eaten. I’m going back the next time I visit MC!!!

oxtail lunch is very yummy. It was so good my mom and I had to come back for seconds, right after. Then we came back for a third time before we went home. The staff is exceptionally nice and the reggae music that the food truck plays fits the mood perfectly.

We had curry chicken, jerk chicken, and oxtails, and they were all delicious. Sides are good and plentiful. Prices are reasonable.

Top notch! Very tasty food & great portions. If their food didn’t fill me up so much I’d probably eat there more! Just wish they had more space to eat in.

Damn good food! The food is Jamaican, the staff corrected me, not broadly Caribbean. The jerk chicken and goat curry are absolutely fantastic. I keep craving more of the curry, honestly… It is so, so good. Lots of choices are available for sides, as well as a very good Jamaican ginger beer(N/A) that I’ve never seen in stores. We loved the cabbage(amazing), plantains, red beans & rice, and mac & cheese. Don’t miss out on this place! It is small, with just a window bar and tall stools for dining in during the winter, but with more promise for the warmer months with some outdoor seating. This is not fast food, but you won’t wait too long either, and worth every penny. Try it!

I was searching for a place to pickup some good food to bring home for dinner after a long day at work but I didn’t want the same old same old. I was very pleased to find a great little spot serving authentic Jamaican food.

I liked the chicken and yams, very good. but I was over charged for the lunch dark chicken special they said the run Tuesday thru Thursday. I bought on a Tuesday lunch and was still charged the extra $ 2, but I didn’t Want to complain as this was my first time. The other sides were pretty blahhh. Red beans and rice(I really like popeyes red beans and rice) theirs had no flavor. Macaroni average but my kids didn’t like it. The cabbage side kind of reminds my of an old cabbage soup receipe, it I very oily. So that is why it’s a mediocre review, half the food I liked, and I was over charged on the day the run there lunch specials.

This jerk chicken, beans and rice are really good. I love the flavors and the owners are super nice people. Their work ethic shows in the food taste. The reason for four stars is; there’s no inside dining, only takeout.

Been here twice so far now, and the second time was even better then the first time. Even though the location isn’t that great, the food is amazing. If you like a little spice to your food I would reccomend this place. YUMMY! :)

I’ve been to Jamaica twice. Everywhere I go that claims they have«jerk» seasoning always ends up in complete disappointment. This place is the real deal! The food is fantastic and the jerk is authentic. The staff was a pleasure to deal with also. My new favorite Michigan City food stop!

So happy to have a new ethnic food choice in the area! Jerk chicken, Festival, Rice & Beans, Plantains, Cabbage, Mac & Cheese~ IT’S ALLGOOD! If you can’t escape to the islands bring a taste of it home, kick back, put your feet in the kiddie pool, close your eyes and turn up the reggae music. Don’t be surprised if when you open your eyes those PINE trees kinda look like PALM trees.. .

Just had the absolute BEST curried goat for lunch today. This new Jamaican Restaurant opened up recently here in Michigan City and without a doubt I have just eaten the best curried goat I have ever had in my entire life! I have been eating Haitian and other Carribean food for over 25 years now and I am very impressed with the cook. The curry sauce was the bomb and the goat was so tender it fell off the bone as it should when it is cooked right. The beef patties were all out at the time I went so I didn’t get the chance to taste those. Everything else looked great! The place is just a very small take out place, didn’t really think there were any chairs at all to sit down and eat. The lunch portion was huge so much food I could barely finish it and usually lunch portions are tiny but they really heaped on the food for a lunch portion. It’s located on 11th St. right next to the South Shore train station in Michigan City. Great spot and I’ll be coming back here for sure!
