Had these at the lower east side pickle day in nyc. Got a jar of the half sour pickles. The pickles had a good crunch to them which I really liked but there wasn’t much flavor. I would get them again but I wasn’t crazy about them. I’d like to try the spicy or Italian dill next time.

Highlight of store: the window art changes with the seasons! Sometimes there’s a thanksgiving turkey holding some pickles, come back a month later and it’s a snowman with a pickle nose!!! But also, the pickles are delicious!!! The spicy pickles are remarkably tastier than the regular ones– but I love spicy so maybe I’m biased. The dude who works there is super chill and often gives free spears if you buy a container. You can usually get 2 spears for a dollar. Also he gives out free grillos stickers :). They do sell cool merchandise but id much rather eat pickles than wear them, but hey that’s just me. Though different grocery stores sell grillos pickles, I can enthuastically say it’s more fun to buy in this store.

YUM, I love pickles. I recently had the opportunity to check out Grillo’s Pickles. Travis Grillo back in ’08, decided to use his family recipe to start selling pickles; it originated from Salem, CT(sold out of his ’85 Cutlass Supreme), eventually leading to selling them out of a wooden cart in the Common; now, local stores and grocers stock up in them. The recipe is over 100 years old, and the ingredients are only the pickles, the brine, fresh dill, grape leaves, and garlic slices(yes, you can actually see the dill/grape leaves/garlic slices in the brine!) — that’s it! It is fresh, crunchy, delicious, and just overall, a great pickle! :D The store offers 2 kinds: Original Pickles and the Hot Pickles. They usually sell 2 spears for $ 1, so getting a jar is a great bargain(plus, you’ll be so glad to get a jar as you’ll finish those babies up right away!). Since I have a low threshold for spiciness, I stick to the Original. So, if you’re a pickle fan, check Grillo’s out! :D +over a 100-year old recipe! +Original Picks and Hot Pickles available

OHYEAHGRILLO’S PICKLES what can i say about their pickles. I love it. As we walked in it is a very small store with two coolers with all the pickles. We were looking around seeing which one we should get and the guy goes want to taste any? … is that a question of course we would love to stuff ourselves with pickles even after we just walked in from having lunch next door. so we tried the hot pickles, tomatoes, olives etc etc. The hot pickles and pickled green tomatoes were awesome and we got that along with Jalapenos. The prices are not ball at all. small one is 5 while big one is 7 bucks but for the freshness they are really good for the value. They also had pickled garlic, beets, carrots, mixed veggies etc etc. Def a place to go and take a look at if you like pickles and like them in your sandwiches.

Where else can you get home-made artisanal pickles in the Boston metro area? Shhh, don’t answer that, because I don’t care. Grillo’s is all I need. Long have I loved these dills, enjoying them on hot summer days around Park Street and chill autumn mornings at SoWa. How delighted I was to find the shop a scant mile from my home! Spicy spears are always the way to go for a quick treat, and for something more long-term, I treated myself(at last) to the medley container. Pickled cucumbers, asparagus, onion, yellow bell pepper, and-wait for it-grapes! The only problem I’m going to have is making this sumptuous snack last longer than a few days in my fridge.

The kid has gushed on and on about the product, so if you wanna know what the experience of eating Grillo’s fine picklings, peep this: But a well-deserved five star review is for Travvy-Trav’s pick&mortar store beside the Inman Clover. Decked floor to ceiling with edibles in coolers, 2-for-$ 1 spear buckets and hilarious merch, it’s a one-stop brinin’ shop! Can’t let the availability of a custom designed Grillo’s denim jacket, logo-laden knee highs and a side of dilly toothpaste go unannounced. Yes, toothpaste — the ultimate office gag gift. Oh, and you better get your move on. This pop-up pickle palace is set to shut down in December, so stock up before they lock up!
