lol this place is so terrible it’s funny. Friendly’s never has good service but this might be the absolute worst one I’ve ever been too. No greeting when you walk in, took them 5 minutes to acknowledge me. Looked like they were having a meeting in the back. They all saw me walk in but didn’t think to come help me? What were they discussing, new ways to piss off customers? I got take out and most of the orders were missing ingredients or had ingredients I asked to leave off. Also I called an hour ahead to have it ready at a certain time and it wasn’t ready until 20 minutes after the time they said it would be. The only person who seemed to have their shit together was Deb, good job Deb.

We were sat quickly by the host. Then we were forgotten about for 12 minutes. The place is steady but not busy. Host came back & took drink order & said a waitress was assigned. She came quickly with our drink order and took our beakfast order quickly. Meals came quickly. Bacon was done extra crispy as odered. Cinnamon pancakes were excellent. French toast were undercook. GROSS. Definately not my best experience here. Al

I have a love hate relationship with Friendly’s. Service is ALWAYS slow at pretty much every friendly’s regardless of what you order, how many people are there, or who is working. However, they have some delicious ice cream and the honey bbq chicken melt is ridiculously good.

Prices have gone up. Hot dogs are still good even though they don’t have them on their menu. Fry portions are small. We got ice cream take out 2x this week the first was minimal ice cream in the cup with too much toppings yes I know it’s shocking too much topping. But that was because the topping was on the bottom and the minimal amount of ice cream. The 2nd time it was worse. The ice cream sundaes are not cheap so my bf is calling the manager today at the Middleboro location.
Oh, so powerful is the Friendly’s brand to those of us in a certain generation from New England that we continue to give it a go, even thought the story for virtually every Friendly’s location is now virtually the same. You arrive to a half-empty(or half-full) restaurant yet have to wait quite a while to be seated. You order things your kids pine for but which they’re out of(lemonade? seriously?) or are on the menu but which they say they no longer carry(cranberry juice? seriously?) then settle for your third choices, which come out slowly. Then you order your nostalgic choices, which are slow coming out of the kitchen and not quite as good as you remember(how is it possible to make a soggy patty melt?), while the kids order from the kids menu and get kind of cardboard food.(Of particular note at this location were the carrots, which sort of had brown hair on them.) Then the kids get their ice cream at the end, and the sugar rush makes you forget you’ve just spent an hour and a half for the previous foods. This particular location is a «new» fake-diner-style Friendly’s, stuck on the traffic circle in MIddleboro just off the highway, so may gull you into coming with its promise of easy on easy off(not so: the entrance and exit to the circle are death-defying, to say the least) and modern cleanness(not so; dirty inside in an an unappealing way that suggests a bit of careworn lack of attention to maintenance, most specifically a really dirty carpet). We only bump into the two star territory because we had very sincere service from our server, and the well-meaning host was genuinely apologetic we had to wait so long for our table(at a non-rush period). Although perhaps Friendly’s problem is that it hires earnest young people with very little experience instead of older, hiya hon servers who are in it for the long haul. In any event: take a pass.

Stopped in on a Sunday to this Friendly’s in hopes of having a quick lunch. The hostess was nice and was busy running around trying to bus tables and seat guests all by herself. We were seated and waited to place our order for over ten minutes but no waitress came over to us. They were busy talking together. So we left!

Our waiters was really attentive and friendly… that’s is the only reason they’re getting two stars. The food was… bad. Luke warm waffle fries with thick cheese that was barely melted… crispy chicken salad was full of old browning lettuce. Such a disappointment! Wish I had caught the name of the manager working at the time… I did not see him smile once. He looked so miserable and almost angry to be there. I saw him standing around a lot but never checking on any tables. The ice cream was good… I think I’d just come back for ice cream take out. Everything else was just gross!

It gets two stars because the service was very good. The food, on the other hand, was almost inedible. Not a great place unless you are 10 years old and hate food.

Regular Friendlys fare. I must say though the staff works well together, especially under pressure. We went in there on a Sunday evening and the place was BOMBED! We didn’t expect the service to be fast but it was. Our server was very attentive and entertaining. Definitely one of the better locations in our area. The only odd thing was they said that they no longer have Fribbles! The server said they are calling them only milk shakes now?!?

This place used to be okay… lately it’s been nothing but a disappointment. I went there for lunch with a friend and ordered something off their«Under 500 calorie» menu… let me tell you… there Asian chicken stir-fry was definitely something they pulled out of a microwave-steam bag they bought for $ 3.99 at stop n shop. My vegetables, rice, and chicken were all the same texture — mush. I don’t think they like having more than 2 waitresses working at once… takes WAY too long to have a quick lunch. Epic fail.

went there the other night to get some ice cream on a hot summer night. ask for their version of a blizzard. girl says that the machine is making a new batch of soft serve. i said ok i dont mind waiting two second later i get a glorified milkshake and ended up throwing it out before i made it home. if the machine isnt working, just say so i can get something else and not waste my money and ruin my ice cream craving. must have been a sign from god to put down the ice cream… wont be going back

Ordered a salad asked for dressing on the side, came with no dressing, it took the waitress more than 10 minutes to bring me dressing(the place was not even half full)…while waiting I ate a croûton because I was starving…, and could have used the diet coke I asked for when I placed my order, Ibecause I was practically choking on it. service was terrible, food sucked, I am done with friendly’s they used to be pretty good but now they just blow.

I am not the biggest fan of Friendly’s these days. I think the chain started going downhill when it started taking itself too seriously. The food used to be better, it seemed more… well… friendly. This particular location is one of the better I have been to. The food is usually cooked to order, and the service is usually up to par if not spectacular. If I had a choice of which Friendly’s I would visit out of all that I have been to in my life, this would be my choice. The only real reason I still occasionally eat at Friendly’s is my 8 year old. She does enjoy the place, so I indulge her once in a while. As for ice cream, we prefer Peaceful Meadows over Friendly’s any day.

I am not one to complain but the people working here are flat out incompetent. Because my wife loves their crispy honey chicken salad I have given them more chances than I should have. The burgers are never cooked the way I order and are put together sloppily. The french fries are always cold like they were cooked an hour before. It has come to the point where if I pick a salad up for my wife, I pick something up for myself somewhere else. It’s not just the cooks either. The people behind the counter always have trouble finding my order and simple things like asking for extra dressing seems to confuse the heck out of them. On the brightside– The ice cream is still pretty good. But why not go to Peaceful Meadows or Dairy Queen both of which are 5 min. down the street and hire people that could pass a 3rd grade math exam. Bottom line: I would avoid this one like the plague.
