Middletown Massage

I’ve had hundreds of massages all over the world… …I love massages! So let me say that Stella is top notch! She is very strong yet simultaneously gentle. Her touch not only gave me relaxation, but carried a healing quality as well. Lastly, she is most intuitive… …her hands focused exactly where my tensions resided, areas I was not even aware of. Thanks Stella, you are a beautiful soul!

A month or so ago, in the aftermath of the Valley Fire, I came to Middletown to visit my dad. Normally I go to Harbin to get massages, but sadly, Harbin was badly damaged in the fire. I decided to give this place a try, and I’m glad I did!
If you are the type to want your massage room that is as sterile as an operating room, or you tire easily of new age-​y stuff, you may not like this place. However, if you are down with hippie stuff like reiki, herbs, etc, are feeling open-​minded, or you just want a great massage (at a great price) in an intimate and unique spot, you should check it out.
The staff was really flexible about scheduling the massage, and when I was late due to fire cleanup-​related traffic, they were very understanding. When I arrived, a few people, including Ellen, who gave me the massage, were just hanging out in the central space of the building. It had such a homey feel, I immediately felt comfortable and relaxed. Ellen’s massage was great, and she did something I never experienced before — sound healing. This involved putting singing bowls and gongs of some sort on parts of my body and striking or playing them, creating a sound and a vibration.
If you have specific expectations for your massage maybe you should express that before going into it, but in my opinion, if you want to get the most out of a massage here you should let the therapist do whatever they feel is good for the session, even if it includes unorthodox techniques like sound healing. This is a unique spot, you might as well get a unique massage!

I like Middletown Massage and it certainly a destination spot for me when I am visiting Lake County. I have found that the staff to be very knowledgeable and dedicated to their craft. They also have a good selection of Chinese OTC supplements as well bulk herbs. Nice selection of book and other items. Overall a place with a peaceful to spend some time. In closing Middletown Massage is not your average rub and buff place. It is the opposite, a warm, concerned and caring community resource.
