K’Bello Organic Hair

Here are the pluses of this salon:
It’s organic, you ll find a lot of products you don’t often see, and they smell great.
The owner, Karla, is very friendly and responds quickly to inquiries by either phone or email.
The place is very cozy, I loved the décor which was more home furniture like then office like.
Unfortunately, this turned out to just not be the salon for me. I was very happy at my previous salon, but my stylist moved away, had mentioned this salon, and I thought an organic salon sounded nice since I am into natural/​organic. I spoke with Karla ahead of time about my wanting to be as blonde as possible. When I went in for my appt, I used the phrase Scream Queens Blonde and showed her a few photos, so it was clear that I was seeking to be quite light blonde. As I expected she said this wasn’t possible in the first visit, and could take a few appts, which I understood. We agreed upon the balayage technique. It took about 3 hours which is normal. When it was done, I had some nice blonde highlights. My hair was nowhere near a full head of blonde, but I didn’t expect it to be. What I had looked like a nice start so I felt satisfied. I purchased a shampoo while there, with that and tip I paid about $ 300.
A few days later I washed and conditioned my hair for the first time since the appt, and was disappointed to find it feeling very dry and tangled, it just didn’t feel like my usual healthy soft hair. Balayage is supposed to be much gentler then a full head of color all at once, so I was surprised. I emailed Karla and she got back to me quickly, we discussed what I was using and she made some suggestions about deep conditioning etc to help. It took several washes with a very moisturizing shampoo and conditioner before it felt somewhat normal again. The texture of my hair just didn’t feel comfortable. Karla did offer to have me come in for a deep conditioning treatment at no charge, but I was hesitant because I wondered if perhaps a specific product or ingredient used there just didn’t work well with my hair. Karla was very helpful with replying to my emails and gave me the names of the products she used so I could see if I saw anything I thought I might not react well to. I didn’t notice anything, so I just don’t know why my hair didn’t feel right.
I decided to go back to my old salon for a consultation. The stylist luckily didn’t notice any damage. He wasn’t sure why my hair was feeling dry, but noted sometimes products just don’t work well on some people. He did however say that he wasn’t pleased with how the overall coloring looked, noting very little blonde color in the back and that it wasn’t the light blonde I was asking for, but a darker gold blonde. He explained what he would do, which involved a couple different processes, and why the one balayage process with one type of bleach was not appropriate for my hair. It made sense to me so I decided to let him do my hair. When I left there, my hair was very light blonde pretty much all over and I paid about what I had paid at KBello. I was so happy because I had no idea it was possible to get so light so fast. And when I washed it, it was super soft, no dryness at all. So, I was very happy but also so upset because I paid close to $ 300 at KBello which basically was wasted money and I’m not at all rich. As I had just realized, my hair could have been a lot lighter and feeling healthier. I also want to note that this lightness is not a result of the previous highlights, since as I said there was only sporadic highlights from KBello and I left this salon with a nearly full head of light hair.
Since there are other high ratings, this salon must be a good fit for a lot of people, but sadly I paid a lot to find out it wasn’t for me.

Karla is gives the best haircuts I have had many people give me haircuts and I know she is one of the very best I love my hair right away and as it grows in. She is very sweet and has a lot of product knowledge.

When I met Karla I was stuck in a color rut. I had been doing the same thing for years. She changed it up immediately– getting rid of the overdone red tones. It was a very subtle difference but I got so many complements. And her all organic line has made a big impact on my hair. No more itching after treatments. With no chemicals, my hair feels stronger and healthier. She also gives a great haircut. My hair is kind of in between wavy and curly, which has been a challenge for many stylists. Not Karla. She expertly cuts my hair every time. I’ve referred a few people to her and everyone is always happy. The salon also sells many organic hair care lines that are hard to find. The prices are very reasonable as well. I can’t say enough good things. I highly recommend you visit Karla’s warm and inviting salon and see for yourself!

We moved to Midland Park over the summer and have been struggling with finding a decent men’s haircut… Until now! This is a great new hair salon in Midland Park. My teenage son and I both got our haircuts by Karla and were super impressed. She told us about the organic hair dye and products used at the salon which sound great. The interior is really stylish and comfortable. I highly recommend!
