Carolina Skin Centre & Salon

I wish I would have found this place sooner! I am originally from east Texas and Carolina Skin Center more than exceeded my expectations. I had microdermabrasion and an oxygen facial. I will be going back and getting on a schedule at this place! The service was incredible and the customer service was the best I’ve had in midland.

I suggest Jennifer Miles as a stylist. She did an amazing job on my highlights and roots!

My hair was done by Jessica. I wanted a platinum blonde bayalage on my hair and instead she bleached the majority of my hair. I had to do 2 sessions because she messed my hair up so badly the first session. I was there 5 hours and 2 days later, I was there another 5 hours. My hair is completely fried and not blended well at all. She said on the phone she was going to charge me $ 95 and ended up charging me $ 165. I would not recommend anybody to go to this salon.

Went for an eyebrow/​facial wax in July or August 2014. It was nice that they could take me as a walk-​in, & the «lobby» & reception area has a nice ambiance, & the staff are friendly. But the waxing was actually more painful than I preferred (I would rather stick with Mint, since it’s in the same shopping area, just across the parking lot to the east of Carolina’s, also in the San Miguel Square). I just wanted to try it out at Carolina’s, since it was a day when the «waxing guru» at Mint was off, but the scheduling system at Carolina’s is set so that I «had to» make a follow-​up appointment in 6 – 8 weeks. I personally prefer to make my own eyebrow/​facial appointments when I feel like I «need» it, & I especially did not want to feel like I was «married» to Carolina’s after just one (not-​so-​great) «date». I guess some people like to book salon appointments that far in advance, complete with a courtesy reminder call like a doctor or dental appointment. But that’s just not for me. (I also moved about the time of my booked appointment, so I had to ask them to remove my number from their list. That thankfully made the «break-​up» experience easier!)

Horrible highlight experience. 4 hrs later left with fried hair. Ending with having to get 6 inches cut off my once long heathy hair. They were very over booked and the person who originally booked me had someone else do my hair. Took 2 hrs to even put the foils in and then had me sit while they did someone else’s hair. Couldn’t even run a comb through my hair. Traumatic to say the least.

Britney at the front desk is amazing. She goes above and beyond to get you in for an appointment. I’ve had my teeth whitened and a bikini wax from Erika and both services were fabulous. It’s very clean and they are the only local salon/​spa that carries Glo Minerals makeup and skin care.
You won’t be disappointed!

They have an incredibly friendly staff from the front hostess to all of the stylists that I have personally come into contact with. Jess does my hair and she does impeccable work. The price point is low in my opinion for the expert services provided. They always have fresh lemon water and Keurig Kaffe on hand and a spotless facility. Definitely ask for Jess for your color and cut needs. :) Enjoy!

I am originally from Houston and I just happened to be visiting my boyfriend when I discovered this place. At the time there was only one review on this place and I was semi-​worried about getting a microdermabrasion service without completely knowing what kind of place I was getting myself into. With that being said, I am so glad that I gave this place a try! I really appreciate the fact that this place is a one-​stop shop (hair, nails, facials, body care, and makeup) because although I like to get pampered, I appreciate having everything done in one place due to my busy schedule.
Whoever the designer was did a really good job at separating the salon and spa side of things. I really liked that the spa/​skincare side was separated from the hair and nail side of things.
The place is very clean and I did notice that my esthetician used new sponges on me and threw them away after using them (fun fact — by law estheticians are required to use new sponges on clients — however I’ve been to some shady places that did not do this… eekgads!).
My esthetician was very friendly and allowed me to chatter the whole time. Also the receptionist was really cool too and answered a lot of my questions when I was trying to schedule an appointment over the phone.

I went to Carolina Skin Centre for the first time for a brow wax. When I called to make an appointment the gal on the phone was very friendly and professional. I was surprised to hear that there was an opening that day.
When I walked in I was pleasantly surprised that the lobby was clean and simple with a few different product lines neatly lining a few shelves. The waiting room was very quiet and serene. The receptionist offered me tea or water.
Carolina the owner did my brows and she was very sweet and made pleasant conversation. She did forget to give me a brow tint but it turned out okay because it was later in the evening and I didn’t have time for it. I would recommend this place to anyone. They have a full salon and offer a lot of different spa services. It’s how a day spa should be. I look forward to going back.
