It was 90 degrees this year! I love the vast assortment of arts and crafts tents on the green. What I didn’t love was how there were only 2 ‘beer’ choices within the beer area/stage area. Mike’s hard lemonade and Miller Lite. That is crazy. Clearly Miller Lite was the sponsor because the over 21ID bracelets had their logo on it. I appreciated that there was tents in the music area it was so ridiculously hot. The food from the Rotary Tent and the Kiwanis was nothing special. Not worth $ 12 for a sub-par lobster roll. I would go again because it’s a great idea and a lovely town

Love going to the annual Milford Oyster Festival. Delicious oysters. Delicious oysters. So nice I wrote it twice. Come early before they run out. The busing to and from Law High and the mall works out well. My only suggestion for improvement is what gives with the horrible beer selection? Yuck. Go to one of the local bars instead for a tasty brew at a lower price.

We have been coming to the Milftord Oyster Festival for a few years now. It is always fun, with tons to do. On the green, they have various vendors set up with hot sauce, candles, soaps, clothes, etc. There is also a grill set up on the side if you want to grab a hotdog or burger before eating some oysters. On the other side of the pond, you will find oysters freshly schucked, as well as a beer garden, and a vintage car show. It is definitely a lot of walking so make sure you wear comfy shoes! Easily accessible whether you’re driving or taking MetroNorth. The train stops down the block and driving from NY only takes about an hour or so. You can park at the mall or high school and a cheese bus will take you over to the festival.

Great day, lots to do!!! Always in August, the headliner band this year is Kansas! See you there, it’s a date! My husband and I always ride the ferris wheel overlooking Milford Marina, then go get stuffed on lobster rolls, sausage and peppers and of course… The oysters! Canadian cups are one of my favorites. Small, sweet and juicy… If 7 seas has clams on the half this year, save 2 doz for me.

I love seafood and especially fresh oysters so when my girlfriend suggested we go to the Milford Oyster Festival I was on board without hesitation. When we arrived at the festival it was about 90 degrees and I wanted to get Oysters and Beer pronto. There were no signs to tell you where the oysters were being sold and it took us about 15 minutes of sweating to find them. Once we did find the oysters the tents set up for dining were all packed with what seemed like locals and a pretty rotten band was playing rather loudly with an out of tune singer, not very appetizing. The oysters weren’t cheap and were of decent quality but were not cleaned well and served with a tiny amount of lemon. it was $ 16 for a dozen oysters which is really no break at all considering you have to eat them in 90 degree heat with cheap beer [$ 7 each for bud or some similar swill]. All in all a very amateurishly run festival which is best left to the locals. I drove up from NJ so on my way back we stopped at a great Chinese buffet in Elmhurst queens and I got my fill of oysters. oh yeah and of course all roads back to NY were clogged with traffic on my return so it took me 2 hours to get to Queens when it should have only taken 1 hour. The traffic in CT was worse than that on the Long Island Expressway! Bottom Line: A big waste of time
