Love this place, pizza is always done correctly, good sauce, cheese, topping proportions. Crust is always crispy. This is a true New Haven style pie. Best pizza in Milford hands down. I typically stick to the basics. Love a plain or pepperoni pie from here. Try the Foxon Park sodas, they’re made locally. Enjoy, highly recommend.

My wife and I made a pit stop here for lunch on our way to Rhode Island from Brooklyn. The pizza is top notch, and as a New Yorker I do not say that lightly. The ingredients Papa’s uses are fresh, the flavors are fantastic, the crust is just right and they cooked our specialty pizzas to perfection. Friendly service too; we would go out of our way to eat here again.

Love Papa’s pizza… Tried almost every pizza place in the Milford area and Papa’s wins every time. Coal oven crispy thin crust, full of flavor, cheaper and just as good as the famous New Haven pizzerias. It would be awesome if they delivered, but then I’d undoubtably order more than necessary!

They have the best pizza around. Love the sauce, thin crust and tasty. Fresh ingredient toppings if you like just cheese pizza then you love to try it. Won’t be disappointed. The owner is very friendly and conversation is always great.

I wanted to try them after I saw the nod they got in Connecticut Magazine alongside the big names of pizza in the area. I picked up a couple pies — the timing worked good for take out, the pizzas were cooked just right, the sauce was spot on, but I haven’t been back since. I guess people have their loyalties and preferences. For a lot of people, it looks like it’s Papa’s II but it’s not my favorite in the area. The pizza was good and it’s definitely worth a taste, maybe this is your new favorite place.

I finally know what the teens mean when they say«I can’t even» because I’m eating a Papa’s II pie as I type this and GIRL I CAN’T EVEN. UNNNNNNNNGH, nah nah nah nah. My eyelashes are fluttering, my brain is tingling, and I think I have diabetes; I’m so happy. I previously said that Michael Anthony’s has the best pizza in Milford, but nah, it’s Papa’s.

After all the rave reviews, I gave in, and it was soooo worth it. I stopped in about 8:30 on Friday night(last night), and placed an order for my family’s decades long go-to: sausage and mushroom. The medium pizza is HUUUUUGE, the size of most places larges. The crust had touches of char, with some places being nice and crunchy and some with a perfect chew. The mushrooms were fresh(a giant must-have in my book!), and the sausage was perfectly spiced. As a tomato/tomato sauce avoider, I was shocked to discover I was in love with theirs, and it was deliciously flavorful, with a balanced sauce to cheese ratio. All in all, a perfect pizza. I waited inside for the majority of the time and watched the staff treat every single person with kindness, humor, and comfortable professionalism. After taking a years long hiatus, I am now a happy pizza eater, IF and ONLY if, it comes from Papa’s. I had absolutely no issue with their price point, either. When you invest that much time and effort into making things from scratch(like that epic sausage) and perfecting everything, you’ve earned it. Supporting local businesses is important, especially when they’re not charging outrageous prices. Thanks for being such awesome people with such an incredible product! Dinner tonight? More Papa’s!

Wow! Their grinders??? Or as they call them, cones! Absolutely awesome. Picture a half a loaf of Italian Bread, gutted and filled to the brim with your choice of meatball, eggplant, chicken, etc. Then topped off with the inside of the loaf. I tried the meatball, killer! Definitely not frozen meatballs, almost like Nana used to make! Huge, could feed my whole family. I will be back to try the others!

If you don’t want to make the trek to New Haven this is truly the closest thing to a Pepes/Modern pizza! My father who grew up in New Haven and was the most loyal to that pizza has made Papas his go to now. Seriously great pizza! Just not much room to sit there…

Yummy pizza and HUGE, killer«cone grinders»! It’s LITERALLY half of a loaf of Italian bread folks! They hollow it out then stuff it with your choice of fillings. I had the eggplant parmigiana which was awesome! Super friendly staff too!

The one on Naugatuck avenue is 100x better. It is also the original one. Papas 2 wasn’t even close to Papas. Onion pizza had onions that were barely cooked and paid $ 37 for two large– one onion and one pepperoni. Wouldn’t mind doing this at the other but I wasn’t impressed with Papas 2 :(

I am extremely picky when it comes to pizza. I loved the pizza from here. I do want to try a lot of pizza places in the area, but I tried this one first and I was not disappointed.

Excellent, thin crust pizza! I have picked up pizza several times and the first thing that impressed me was how friendly the staff is. This is a well-run establishment where customer service is obviously important because the people who work here take the time to greet the customer properly, smile, and make the take-out experience very pleasant. I love that the pizza stays crisp in the box and is delicious to eat at home. There is a great variety of specialty pizzas, and I’ve tried about 4 of them, all quite tasty. I prefer this location much more than the one on Naugatuck. I highly recommend this place for take-out, New Haven style pizza.

Good pizza. Nice, hot cooktemps which allow for the signature wood fired bubbles and toasting. I ordered 2 lg pizzas and 2 sodas and it came to $ 53. So not at all cheap, but decidedly tasty. I think I prefer the original Papa’s by a hair. The onions on my pizza were diced and didn’t cook up the way they always did at the original, a simple detail but it does change the flavor.

Authentic New Haven-style pizza, paper-thin crust made gooey from the red sauce, chewy hot cheese tempting you to burn the roof of your mouth, toppings ample but not overpowering. It was the perfect antidote to avoiding yet more Thanksgiving leftovers! We had a large cheese and a large pep/mush and both were spectacular. Worth the 25-minute wait and the price! Be sure to call ahead as they take their time to do it right.

Whoa Mr Papa, easy on the Parmesan cheese or Romano cheese or whatever it is. On any good pizza those types of cheeses should compliment the mozzarella cheese. They shouldn’t overpower it. Other than that, this pizza is very good and very much like New Haven style pizza. It’s messy, oily, soupy, floppy and my slices looked like they were cut by a one armed blind person. That’s New Haven pizza. The only thing missing was a little blackened char(although some char is clearly shown in the other Unilocaler’s’ photos). Milford has a lot of very good pizza places. It’s hard to say which is better; Jimmy’s or Papa’s. They’re both winners in my book and further proof that one doesn’t need a fancy wood fired oven to make excellent pizza. Although there’s a couple tables(for slices?) Papa’s Pizza II is mostly take-out. It’s located directly next to the Milford Hospital. By the way, don’t bother getting the medium pizza sizes. For a buck or two more you can purchase a large size. You can save the leftovers for tomorrow’s lunch.

My daughter and I ordered a pie to go from here on Friday night and were very pleased. We ordered the pie with meatballs and ricotta and found both the flavors and the crust to be wonderful. Unfortunately, we made the mistake of ordering it on our way to the restaurant rather than ahead of time, and were told it was going to be about 45 minutes until our small pie was ready. When we got there our ticket was still about 4th in line, but since we were there — the cook said he would speed up our order. I must say, if you are looking to sit down and have a fancy meal — this is not the place to go. It looked like mostly regulars picking up their to-go orders, but they do have 2 tables available for seating if you desire. They also have Foxon Park soda, another major plus for us!

Def in the top 3 when it comes to Milford pizza. Our go-to is the ‘Pizza Di Lucky… Mozzarella, Fresh Tomato, Basil, Olive Oil, and Garlic. Awesome pie, even on day 2, and isn’t that what it’s all about?
