I’d rank this closer to 3.5÷3.75 than 3 but that option is not available. This is a solid burger joint. I think their focus is higher quality toppings and cheeses which I appreciate. I like the variety of buns too… I had the multigrain which tasted good and very fresh. The burger was well done which wasn’t bad but I prefer more toward medium. Medium well would have been a good compromise. It tasted fine regardless. Overall I rate it a good meal. Although I had a decent burger, liked the presentation and was pleased by the variety of buns and toppings, I’d still take a Five Guys over Smash. I’ll put it this way. You go to Smashburger when you want to eat a burger and feel less guilty about it. You go to Five Guys when you really just want a burger. Also, the fries need work… Some were too crispy and I think it’s because they were shoestring. IMHO, they need thicker fries…

Today was my first and last time for Smashburger. Place was clean, service was fast and friendly(hence 2 stars) but the meat was tasteless. It was missing something(it was my standard loaded cheeseburger). French fries were OK. Less expensive than the burger place across the parking lot and down the road.

Sorry, but this place didn’t «wow» me at all The bun is good but the meat is dry and just tasteless. I could make a better burger for less price at home. It certainly wasn’t cheap. The service is friendly. But the tables were wiped so fast that whomever does this should pay more attention. They were still dirty and we had to grab some napkins and clean them. Not cool. If anyone has a peanut allergy — don’t order the shakes. Nothing is separate from when they make a peanut butter shake and the peanut butter is right on the counter just waiting to cross contaminate.

I drive by this place all the time and wanted to try it. The inside is very clean. The staff is friendly. The burger is good quality beef, but it is a little pricey.

This restaurant is comparable to a Shake Shack. I’m not a fast food fan for the most part, but this is a better quality option. I like that they have healthier choices, like the black bean burger and salads. However, the sodium content is noticeably high in pretty much everything on the menu.

Good variety of burgers. Had the Classic smash and the mushroom truffle Swiss burgers. Tasted great and were the perfect size. I’d put this place above five guys and jakes. Vitamin water at the fountain was a nice option. Not a sweet potato fry fan, but having them on the menu is a nice option for those who do. Great friendly service from ordering to food delivery. Manager was hands on and really working her tail off in all aspects of the operation.

I had heard about Smashburger and was eager to try… Ive has always enjoyed Fiveguys and Jake’s… Arrived around 6:30 and browsed the menu. The young lady taking the orders was placing orders faster than the cook staff could keep up… It got so bad that the cook started yelling at her to slow down. The two got into a back and forth, it quickly ended with two angry faces. one at the register and the other behind the grill. The next customer came to the register and ordered a burger off the menu… but the cashier started talking him out of it because she didn’t like that sauce… Really??? What difference does that make… It was total chaos when the food started coming out… The servers couldn’t tell who’s order was who’s… A total fiasco. I finally got my food… Burger was okay… Nothing special… The experience was awful… Might try another Smashburger… But I’ll never be back to the one in Milford. Hope your experience is better.

I used to live next to Smash Burger for 2 years and never bothered to try it, I was always under the impression that it is one of those places like five guys. Finally on my husbands insistence we decided to eat at Smash Burger. We ordered the Constitution and the Smash sweet potato fries. Both of them were delicious. The burger was juicy and so flavorful, I was craving for more and ordered one more of the same. The fries were perfectly seasoned with Garlic and Rosemary and were delicious to a point where my husband who doesn’t like sweet potato fries almost fought me for eating most of them.

Delicious! ! The shakes are so rich and creamy. Love it. We tried the peanut buttermilk shake. So yummy. We ordered the smash burger. It was tasty. A little small compared to other burger joints but it was nice not having a greasy burger. The burger was hot and fresh. Thumbs up. We also got an order of the smash fries. They were good. The fries were not greasy at all. Very thin and crispy. If your in the mood for a burger, you definitely need to check out Smash Burger!

Terrible customer service. I created my own burger and added guacamole and bacon. If I could show you a picture of how much of each I got you would be appealed. For $ 1.29 each I got a teaspoon of guacamole and half a slice of bacon. When I asked if this was for real they said yes and they could take my burger back and give me a refund. Possibly never eat here again. A $ 10 burger with half a slice of bacon.

There is not much to say when reviewing a chane. All o can say is this one is just as clean, fast and delicious as previous locations. I will say the PM crew are much more friendly than the day time crew. I would rather have them over mc ds or the king. I think I like 5 guys fries better but smash burger better

This was my first time back since the Unilocal event the day prior to general opening. I went with my daughters who would probably have rated the visit with 4 or maybe even 5 stars. One daughter had the Constitution which is the local CT burger and the other a make your own with American, smash sauce, Lettuce and avocado. I had a make your own with grilled onions and BBQ sauce on whole wheat bun. The reason for the 3 stars is because the burger had no flavor, no seasoning, and there was hardly any BBQ sauce. We also ordered fries, smash fries and buffalo fries. I love thin fries. You just can’t get them anywhere else. The problem tonight was that the smash fries were too oily and the buffalo fries just didn’t have enough buffalo powder. My daughter said the Oreo shake was delicious. I said the Coke Zero fountain mix was excellent. Not often you get a full flavor fountain mix-certainly not when it comes from behind a bar!

This was a nice surprise. I’ve never had Smashburger until our stay in Connecticut. We don’t eat beef so it’s nice to see options for chicken. I ordered the general chicken burger with fries. Fries were shoe string and pretty tasty. I also ordered the strawberry milkshake which was REALLY good. Got a side of fried pickles. Pickles were eh OK — nothing spectacular. Everyone else enjoyed their meals as well.

I was supremely annoyed when Piada closed, I loved that place. I also love Smashburger so I’m not mad anymore… haha Fresh cooked burgers with interesting topping combos — IMO beats Shake Shack at the same price point. The fries are hit or miss. Depends how much they douse them in the herb/oil blend. They can’t take much without getting super soggy. Less of a zoo than any other Smashburger I’ve been to. Glad they ventured north out of New York City ;)

This is a quickly growing chain and I was glad to see one pop up in Milford. The service is good, the restaurant is nicely decorated, and I like the presentation of the food. It makes me feel like I’m getting an above-average burger, which I am and it’s how they pitch themselves. The classic Smashburger tastes great and the fried pickles are to die for. The burger is cooked just right and the seasoning makes it melt in your mouth. I had a great experience and am eyeing the Sin City burger(limited time only) for a future visit when I’m feeling naughty. I’ll complain a little about the sodium content. I know I’m getting a burger so I shouldn’t be expecting the healthiest item in the world but you don’t need a day worth of sodium(1940mg for a classic smash without sides) in a single sitting for something to taste good. Even the black bean burger is north of 1300mg once it’s assembled. I had hoped for better from ‘fresh never frozen’ but can’t say I’m surprised. Check it out, you’ll still be very happy with your meal.

Unfortunately I walked into smash burger and had to walk right out. Unless your willing to pay $ 10 for 1 person to have a burger and fries– then I advise you not to trip out to Milford. the selection looked amazing but it was WAY to expensive for me. And here I thought five guys was crazy. Smash Burger– please lower your prices for us poor college students and maybe I’ll come back to try it out.

Loved it! I’m not a huge fast food fan. I love a good burger. Walking in I wasn’t sure what to expect. You make your order just as in a fast food joint. They give you a number and you sit at a table. The staff will bring your order. They lost a star because I’m not sure how my child’s order came out so quickly and he was almost done eating by the time I received my order. A little more effort to get it all out at the same time would go a long way. The burger selection was a bit overwhelming for my first time. I went with avocado club burger. Pretty generous with bacon and avocado. I’ve had burgers where they skimped on those ingredients. The burger was pretty well seasoned and not greasy like Five Guys. I ordered the Smash Fries seasoned with olive oil, Rosemary and garlic. The oil all seeped to the bottoms making the bottom fries entirely too oily. I did enjoy the rosemary and garlic but I wish they were better tossed with the olive oil. They are the thin cut fries — not my favorite when it comes to fries but that is my personal preference. To top off my meal I went with the Peanut Butter Shake. I don’t typically order shakes but I figured I’d give it a try. I would of liked a little more peanut butter flavor but the shake itself was a perfect consistency. Overall I’m happy with this place. It’s my new go to for a fast food burger.

I know some people hate chain food restaurants but I like them just as much as the independent locations. I was very excited to hear about Smashburger opening up in Milford. Having moved here from FL I do miss the large chain quick service restaurants and I hope even more will come to town. Came to have a burger before class and the first thing that I noticed about this location was how clean it was. They even had an attendant cleaning out in the parking lot. As soon as I walked in I was greeted. I did feel a little rushed by the cashier lady. I hadn’t ever been here before and I wasn’t sure what I wanted to order off the menu. Ended up ordering the Classic Smash with some french fries. I was given my number and off I went to find a spot. Didn’t wait more than 3 minutes and my order was brought out. Super fresh veggies and a lightly toasted bun. The beef patty was juicy and didn’t taste like it’d ever been frozen. The manager stopped by and asked how everything was. Food was great; I mean I guess some people will hate but it was just what I was looking for. Overall a good experience. Would definitely come back.
