Walgreens in my estimation is something of a crap shoot. I really don’t like how blatant the chain is about putting things in lockup in some areas, and not others. Sorry about the little social rant, but seriously, I’ve been to locations in «less affluent areas» where even toothbrushes over $ 3 are under lock and key. Milford, not surprisingly, isn’t locked down at all, so overlooking economic disparity, it’s pretty convenient. Someone almost always greets you when you walk in, and not in the uncomfortable«Hi, welcome, I’m going to make sure you don’t steal anything» way. It’s very rare that they don’t have what I came for, but you do have to pay attention to expiration dates. There have been a few times where I’ve picked up items I’d expect to have about a year’s worth of time on(e.g. ibuprofen, low-dose aspirin) only to discover that they’ve got a month or two left. It probably sounds like«Why four stars then?» and the answer is the people. The pharmacists at Walgreen’s are basically the nicest in town, and I’ve seen(and experienced) them going above and beyond to squeeze every last cent out of your benefits. On just one visit, the pharmacist told me how to save nearly $ 100 on a single prescription. There doesn’t seem to be much turnover in employees like I noticed at CVS before I stopped going there, so Walgreen’s is doing something right in retaining people, and it really shows in everyone’s demeanor. It’s the furthest in-town pharmacy from my house, and it’s the only one I go to.

I love this Walgreens! There is a CVS right across the street, but to be completely honest, other than the pharmacy, CVS sucks! The prices are terrible, very high! And the selection is poor! Even the«CVS» brand is expensive! And they don’t have barely any selection on seasonal items! Walgreens on the other hand has a great selection, and the Walgreens generic brand is always great and cheaper more so than the CVS!!! Plus you get way more when you buy Walgreen brand in some packs of things. Their staff is always friendly and helpful! I just don’t like their pharmacy staff because they are so rude and it’s a HUGE deal if you need assistance from a pharmacist or the people that work in the pharmacy because they don’t want to help you look for over the counter medications, and the pharmacists don’t want to be bothered with your questions, on whether or not other things will interact with other medications, which HEYISTHEIRJOB, but whatever! It seems that the pharmacists and pharmacy staff here is ALWAYS slacking off! Or they must drink A LOT of water, because they are constantly taking bathroom breaks for some reason or another when you need help! They will dodge you the customer, and leave you to «be helped» by whomever is left behind the counter. If there is anyone even there left, that isn’t on break… Don’t go here for your perscriptions, go here to shop, and when you DO shop here, buy your things in the FRONT!!! The gals in the front are so nice! :)
