Colosseum NY Pizza is one of those places where you take one look and dismiss it for another hole in the wall, but if you do you’ll be missing out immensely. This is a small classic pizza joint with a fitting theme that you probably would find in New York(never been so don’t judge me on that). I’m serious when I say they make some of the best Hawaiin pizza(or Puka special as they call it) that I’ve ever had. They use whole slices of Canadian bacon and a load of pineapple on top of that. Combined with the greasy cheese and thin crust, it’s a slice of heaven! The guys working here are fantastic with their customers as well. I always get a nice greeting when walking in and even though it’s an older looking building they still keep it well maintained. Highly recommend you stop by to give it a try. If pizza isn’t your thing try one of their other dishes!

These guys are KILLING it!!! The pizza was off the chain!!! We visited for the first time today– had a straight cheese(Cause that’s what this Jersey boy starts out with– Being that ya never wanna go further if it ends up being shitty), Meatball Parm and the garlic knots. All were sooo damn good!!! I felt like I was back east again. Service was insanely great. I say«insanely» because the 2 men behind the counter were controlling the chaos, all the while providing great service!!! The vibe was great as well! They are gonna know my family and I real well in a few months, ’cause we will be back at LEAST once a week. Kudos. Keep doing what you do. The only con I do want to mention is that I worked right across the road about 10 years ago and never ventured into this joint. MYFAULT!!!

Came here with my gf last night and I have to say that their service was very slow. I had a stromboli, 2 slides of pizza, and garlic knots and it took about 45′. And the worst thing was I never got a free cannoli even though my gf checked in on Unilocal when ordering. The stromboli was soggy underneath and so the pizzas. It was so disappointed. That was my first experience and I dont think it will never happen to me again.

Hands down the BEST New York Pizza. We had the Garlic Knots, which were covered with delicious garlic, and the marina sauce was great! We had the meat and garlic pizza, with just the right amount of sauce. Their sauce is so tasty, its not heavy and overpowering. The only down part was the music was really loud, so we ate quickly and left. Cant wait to eat here again.

Ordered 2 slices of Pizza(Puka and Long Island), Knot Garlic Bread, and Stromboli. Checked-In Unilocal to get Free Desert. Pizzas are tasty and very flavorful but very soggy even we asked for Extra Crispy. They forgot to give us the Free desert. We have to ask for it. Then another long wait, so we just walked away. The wait is very long. Took about 45 mins to get all our food. Minus 1 star for the wait, another star for soggy food, another for forgot our free desert…

This is my family’s official pizza place from now on, let me start there. I spent a few years in Jersey and one thing I really miss is the pizza(and the Italian girls) This pizza restaurants is one with that authentic New York taste. I highly recommend it.

I used to go to Rosie’s downtown SJ till I found out about Colosseum! Not to bash Rosie’s but Colosseum tastes great, has fast service, doesn’t break the bank and is even kid friendly too! The owner is a PHHS Pirate :)

This place is a little gem located in a nondescript shopping center off Capitol Ave, look for Mekong Grocery, Colosseum is on the farthest left if you are facing the grocery store. My favorite is their margherita pizza which I normally get by the slice. The pizza is flavorful and pipping hot. I do prefer my pizza to be crispier so I was told I could just ask for«extra crispy» when ordering. The margherita pizza is just a normal slice of cheese pizza but they put slices of tomatoes, dollops of minced garlic and basil. Did I mention they put lots of garlic? Soooo freaking good! I also like their pepperoni pizza and have yet to try their other flavors. I hear their garlic knots and sandwiches are really good too. I’ll be sure to try them the next time I stop by. There’s a variety of beer on tap and a few tv’s so there’s usually some game or sports show playing. The staff is friendly and treat you like a regular even if you’ve only been there once or twice. I think if you check in with the Unilocal app you get a free cannoli.

FOOD: $ 3 Slices or whole pizza $ 17-$ 24. The crust was good but it was missing something. I can’t quite put my finger on it. — Hot Stuff: Hot Sauce, Roasted Bell Pepper, Jalapeño, Pepperoni, Garlic. Has a nice kick. 4⁄5 — Combo: Pepperoni, Sausage, Mushroom, Onion, Bell Peppers, Olives. Fresh ingredients. 4⁄5 — Puka Special: Canadian Bacon and Pineapple. Sweet and savory. 4.5÷5 — Long Island: Chicken, Pesto, Garlic, Mushroom. Probably my fave of the 4. 4.5÷5 — Garlic Knots: 6 soft breaded nots topped with garlic, fresh parsley, and parmesan cheese. Very garlic-ky and greasy. It would be better if it was cheesier. 3.5÷5 — Cannoli: crunchy cannoli filled with cream and mini chocolate chips, topped with powdered sugar. Free with your Unilocal check-in :) 5⁄5 SERVICE Relatively fast and friendly. 4⁄5 FINALTHOUGHTS: I would definitely come back to try other specialty creations. I love that there’s an option to order by the slice.

I ordered pizza over the phone for a carry out and when I got home, saw the pizza And the calling both were burnt out on the back. Worst, on the phone when I asked him the price of my order, he quoted an amount and when I went there, he charged me more for the pizza as well as Calzone. For the Calzone, I ordered an all veg, no meat calzone. I didn’t think, veg order would make it more costlier than a non. veg Calzone, but he said, since I ordered a veg calzone, it would be charged higher. The pizza nor the Calzone was any good, just spoilt my evening and didn’t even enjoy my pizza.

On October 8th we had a very large pizza order for our office. I called and placed the order with Dino for over $ 800. The order was 40 minutes late, with no phone calls to update us. We had over 80 people waiting. My coworker called and was told a manager would call her about this, but no one called. I have attempted to call, but was told the manager was not in. I emailed through the website and no answer either. We spent so much money and received such poor service.

Definitely one of my favorite go to pizza places hands down! All their pizzas and food are freshly made with fresh ingredients. Love their customer service. Always very friendly! Their garlic knots are amazing. I’m not sure if this is all the time but try checking in every time you come because they do give free cannoli! Thank you for having a store right down the street from my house. Their lunch hours are usually really busy so try coming a little after or earlier. I really do love the atmosphere of this place very much.

Craving pizza late at night but don’t want to call up Dominos or Pizza Hut? Colosseum has high quality pizza waiting for you when you have those ultimate late night pizza cravings. I truly appreciate a place where the people really care and put a lot of love into the food they make. They get extra points for being willing to stay open so late for all those late night cravings. The place isn’t extremely small, but doesn’t fit a whole ton of people either. They have menus set on the counter that you can take to your table once you walk in. They do allow you to split your pizza into two kinds if you want. They have a medium size as well as a large size. You can look at their oven if you want a size reference. My friend and I decided to get a medium pizza that consisted of half margherita and half hot stuff. We also ordered an order of the famous garlic knots and I used the Unilocal check in to get the free cannoli. The cannoli check in deal only works if you dine-in! I thought it would take a lot longer for the pizza to finish, but it actually didn’t take very long. You can also order pizzas by the slice if you aren’t sharing with other people. The medium pizza had 8 slices to it. Before the pizza though, I needed to try one of the garlic knots. If you love garlic and carbs, then you’ll probably love these little twisted delicacies. It truly screams garlic(you might need some mints or gum for afterwards). They are piping hot and dipped in marina they are really something. I’m not a huge fan of overly bready things so it was a little better than average to me. However, my friend adored these. I took a slice of pizza and fell in love with the tomato base. You can really taste the high quality ingredients in the sauce and the cheese. The only thing I would have changed about the pizza is more basil. I could barely taste the basil and if I’m going to order a margherita pizza then it better be throwing basil at me. Otherwise, the pizza was pretty scrumptious. I like that the crust was holding the pizza well and stayed crispy. Nobody likes a soggy pizza crust. The cannoli came wrapped up neatly to our table but I unwrapped that thing once it hit the table and took a giant bite. For a moment I had a huge sugar rush from all the sweetness and richness. The powdered sugar on top really takes it over the edge in terms of sweetness and the filling itself is drowning in richness. The shell reminds me of a waffle cone. Although it was so sickeningly sweet, somewhere in my head it was asking for more. I eventually devoured the whole thing and left the place with a tummy ache. If anything, I would skip out on the powdered sugar because the filling is so sweet. Or tone down the richness of the filling and keep the powdered sugar. You can’t really taste the chocolate chips in the filling either. But hey, the thing was free so it tasted all the better! The total for the food was a little less than $ 28 without tip. In terms of service, the two gentlemen there were great. They made us feel like home and we were very comfortable. When we were bussing our table, they came and told us that they would take care of it. Really nice people who put a lot of love into the food they make! Late night pizza craving? You already know where you should go.

YES to the check-in cannoli. So delish. I bought pizza by the slice. what they do is there is cheese pizza partially baked and they put on your toppings and bake it fully. I had the combo and there was a mountain of toppings. I prefer my pizza baked together. i think that the half baked and continued baking doesn’t allow the toppings to intermingle completely. I thought i was going to eat a million slices but the one slice was more than satisfying

Wow I was surprised by how good this place was. Came here on a last minute decision. Got the margherita pizza. Cheese was OOZING and there was a ton of garlic and flavor on it. So delicious and hot. Would highly recommend if you’re in this area.

Oh man. Can’t remember the last time I had pizza this good, this tasty, this proportionally perfect. Came in late on a Friday night after a long drive up from San Diego looking for some eats, and our half meat lovers, half combo we ordered did not disappoint. The crust held up all the toppings nicely, the pizza wasn’t overly oily and the toppings were all fresh and tasty. Also ordered the garlic bites which came out pipping hot and covered in yummy garlic chunks and a nice marinara dipping sauce. The one large pizza and the bites came out to about 32 $, so 8 $ a person for two slices. Quite reasonable, especially for the quality. The free cannoli for checking in was also a really nice perk. Very rich.
