Just what I was looking for: good BBQ take-out on my way home so I could relax and watch Bachelor-nation(Ohhh, c’mon– you know you watch it too!). Conveniently located in Crabapple; half a BBQ chicken(with breast), collard greens(vegetable), baked beans(fiber and prevents anemia) and TX toast(lite carb much better than the GA toast by far!) hit the spot. Mmmmm Mmmmmm! Guy on the other line(Cory :) was helpful and took my order right away. He even had it ready in 5 minutes, just like he said. I added two pork ribs for $ 5 bucks(they don’t do beef) just to try them and I had plenty for three meals– really. My total came to $ 17 so really it broke down to about $ 5 a meal– good deal. The best park is, I didn’t have to cook it after a long day. All neatly packed in a brown paper bag– because nothing says good BBQ like a brown paper bag to keep it warm until I arrive. Thank you to my Unilocal friends for this recommend. Will definitely be back.

Cue used to be my favorite BBQ in the area but it has been surpassed by Grand Champion. Have tried several of the options and it has been fantastic. Very tasty and moist with good sides. They have a small seating area but have outside seating when the weather is nice. Must try barbecue when you are in the mood.

Best brisket in town, hands down. It’s moist with great flavor. The mac and cheese is incredible as well. We get take out for family events as well as dining there. Go!

So, so good! I always get a pulled pork sandwich and the macaroni n’ cheese. Delicious. The potato salad is also great.

Very good BBQ place. Pork was smoked just right and sides were very tasty. I think I had beans and slaw and the slaw was not too wet. Sauces were very good.

I really wanted to like this place, but alas, it was a disappointment. Positives: — great Brunswick Stew and Mac ‘n Cheese. We had the redneck lasagne, which is the stew combined with the Mac’n Cheese. Unique and yummy. Negatives: — Ribs: they were dry, overlooked and didn’t have much bark or taste. I had to drench them in Bbq sauce to make it moist enough to eat. — Brisket: it was also very dry, but had good flavor. Perhaps we came at a bad time of day and everything was dried up for sitting too long. We arrive at 5pm and they close at 6pm on Sunday’s. We may try it again for lunch to see if it’s any better.

Yum yum. We got the chicken and brisket, both of which were amazing delicious melt-in-your mouth!!! The quaint Crabapple location is a perfect break for lunch or a casual dinner! Super friendly staff and great food all around. And the MACANDCHEESE — WowZERS! :D Ok ok, Ill say it out loud — the brisket was better than Fox Bros, ahhh! sorry guys, just the truth! ;P

Really enjoyed this establishment. It is hard to find legit bbq int he burbs. A lot of great places are inside the perimeter or spread out. Sampled some of the brisket and ribs with baked beans and mac and cheese. We thought it was a little pricey but the food was really good. Ribs had a decent smoke flavor that is hard to find in some bbq restaurants. The sides were really delicious and the mac and cheese was really unique. The service was top notch as well. Definitely check it out if you are in the area !

I wish they stayed open later but this is the best bbq I’ve ever had. The quality is amazing and they also have the best mac and cheese.

Great BBQ and friendly staff. Really great brisket which seems harder to find in Georgia. Mac-n-cheese a very good side. Not a lot of seating but do have a patio area with extra tables outside. If you’re in the mood for some BBQ you can’t go wrong here!

The best BBQ brisket ever. Great sauces. Excellent baked beans. Macaroni and cheese is usually good, too, but today mine wasn’t even warm. Lunch was $ 16 — WOW! No wonder I was the only customer in the restaurant. This is way too pricey for lunch no matter how good it is. The hospitality of the order taker left a lot to be desired. No greeting. No thank you. The rest of the time she just stood around — didn’t attempt conversation or check on me. If this place is going to survive, they need to seriously update their hospitality and customer service and update their prices

AMAZING!!! not only did GC accommodate the last minute catering we had for our office, they had it ready in 20 min. EVERYTHING we ordered was mouth watering delicious. the entire office went for 2nd and 3rd plates! I would recommend GCBBQ to everyone who asks! OUR order was– brisket, mac n cheese, baked beans, pulled pork and collared greens!

The only reason I give this restaurant 2 stars is because the barbecue was good BUT… The service was awful. The staff was rude and not very helpful. When I walked in and ordered I asked for onions on my sandwich and they said they don’t serve onions. What barbecue restaurant doesn’t serve onions with barbecue. Then I ordered and I got 2 sides for 3.50 $ the sides were smaller than a small cup of ice cream. I was amazed they could serve something like that. Then when I asked for a glass of water I had to get ice out of a retro unclean cooler. They had no fountain drinks. I would not recommend dining in with them but I have to admit the meat is quality and the sides were good even though I only had like one bite.

This is a local gem in the Crabapple area of Atlanta. Went there on a whim for a tapas type gathering that we were having at home and was pleasantly surprised by the quality and taste of the food. Slow cooked brisket, chicken and sausage. I’ve had brisket in Austin Texas which I thought couldn’t be topped. As Everyone knows Austin is the capital of brisket and barbecue but, it has met its rival right here in Atlanta. What’s so special is that the meat is carved to exclude most all fat from the brisket thus you get nothing but tasty slow cooked meat. Chicken cooked to perfection and the sausage is awesome. I had green beans, baked beans and macaroni for my side dishes. All were seasoned to perfection. The macaroni and cheese being the only thing that needed improving. Overall, 4 stars for this place. I will return again and again. Thank you GC for making my impromptu birthday celebration a success!

This place is always at the local BBQ festivals and is located right next to a nail salon I frequent. I was STARVING before my nail appt and ran in for a quick lunch. I got pulled pork and side of brunswick stew and pickles. The pork was soooo good. Very moist and tender! The brunswick was good, but not the best I’ve ever had by any means. Would def. eat here again if I was in the area. Maybe next time I’ll go out on a carb limb and try the amazing looking mac-n-cheese.

We had a fabulous experience! The brisket is oh sooo good! They are apparently known for their mac and cheese and indeed it was very good, as was the smoked sausage, smoked chicken, and the baby back ribs. The service was awesome — a friendly greeting when we walked in the door, patience with our questions regarding the menu and following up with us to make sure everything was okay. Awesome! The only thing I’d change is that the stems were not part of the greens when served, but realizing that may be regional(we’re not from here and remove all stems on our greens) we’re not reducing our rating. It was a great overall experience.

This place was recommended by the venue coordinator where I’m getting married, next April. I’m soooooo glad I took her advice! Since we plan on serving BBQ at our wedding, we’ve been trying a bunch of places, with mixed results. Enter Grand Champion. We had been out on a family outing, so we decided to grab some food to go. I walked in on a Sunday, the restaurant is really clean and cute, and it smelled terrific, but that doesn’t necessarily mean the food will be good. I saw what they had to offer, and the girl behind the counter was really friendly, and helped me put together an order of their pulled pork, and brisket, plus their well — talked about mac & cheese, green beans, and baked beans. She also gave me both sweet and vinegar bbq sauces, suggesting that we mix them together, I paid, and off I went with this awesome smelling package. We live about 25 minutes from this location, yet the food was still hot, the pulled pork and brisket were FABULOUS, super-moist, very flavorful, and the bark of the pork had a terrific flavor. Because of the amounts of cream and cheese in the mac & cheese, I put it in a sauce pan to warm it up, because I ate it later. The much — welcomed addition of gouda to this dish, made it very savory, and the noodles they use are rigatoni, instead of shells. Again, just cheesy goodness. The green beans were yummy, and the baked beans were just right, not too sweet! We did mix up some sauces, and it really tasted amazing, although to be honest, the meat didn’t need anything! The food quality is out of this world, and we were definitely happy! I called my wedding planner today. We’ve decided to use Grand Champion to cater our wedding. That’s trust in itself, and we will definitely be back to grab more food for lunch and dinner. Grand Champion BBQ is good stuff!

I have to grant Grand Champion BBQ a five star update! I returned today and placed a to-go order. I ordered ½ chicken with collard greens and macaroni & cheese. Although there is no «combination plate» of chicken and ribs. Two ribs can be added for $ 3. I could not pass up trying the ribs again! I was not disappointed with the smoked chicken. It was tender and juicy; including the breast. I tried the NC style sauce on the chicken; it was great! The macaroni & cheese is good here also. It is thick and creamy. And I typically do not eat macaroni & cheese. If you want great tasting BBQ; this is the place!
