You will not regret your decision to use Murphy Dental. Our entire family are clients and are extremely happy. The kids love to come here-how many kids say that about the dentist? Staff are friendly, knowledgeable and very efficient. Both Doctor Murphy’s are really great. They are thorough, experienced, dedicated, professional and so very pleasant. I would have no hesitation in recommending this family business.

I started seeing Dr. Patrick when he was a student at Tufts and followed him to his father’s practice when he graduated. I had a bad experience with my previous dentist who had given me thousand dollar crowns in my 2 front teeth which broke 6 months later when I bit into a bagel and then I was charged by that dentist to bond the crown which also broke about a day later. In 2011, I went to Tufts and got paired with Dr. Pat who gave me 2 new crowns which I have yet to have a problem with(even with bagels). Pat and his staff do a great job of explaining things in a non-technical way that I can actually understand and they send you home with plenty of dental hygiene goodies.

Great dentists and hygienists on staff. Everybody is very friendly and talks you through everything while keeping it light. Very helpful for somebody like me who can get some anxiety about going to the dentist.

If you are like me, nothing can brighten your day like going to the dentist. The sound of the drill is like Mozart in my ear… Not I did not go to the dentist for 10 years. However, a little tooth pain can reverse 10 years of inertia. Dr. Murphy is a nice guy really. He xrayed my teeth, and basically told me I needed a root canal. This is the reason I do not go to the dentist, I replied. We both understood, however, that pain would interfere with my ignorance. He said that he would try to save the tooth and readied his drill… but first he applied novacane. Part of my issue with dentist is a deep sided dislike for my childhood dentist, who believed that pain was an essential part of growing up. He used novacane sparingly in order to heighten the fear effect from his patient. Think Steve Martin in Little Shop Of Horrors… but only with a benign but vapid sophistication But I digress, Dr. Murphy uses lots of novacane and saved the tooth, a happy short and long term ending Recap: Tooth saved, fear of Dentists abated only with the liberal use of drugs Now for the other couple of teeth that need work
