Here is a novel approach — when I called to buy flowers for my wife’s birthday (last minute from a plane as they were closing the doors) the owner whose name escapes me started asking questions. She asked what the occasion was, how old is the recipient, what is her style, what flowers does she like — basically thoughtful questions that helped her decide what to put in the vase. When I got to the store (straight from the airport) I was very impressed with arrangement. More importantly, when I got home, my wife was very impressed with the arrangement.
This is my new florist.
