I had no idea this place existed — we saw the ever-​awesome Ron R check in here and we happened to be mere blocks away enjoying a tasty lunch at Alberto’s so decided to check it out. It’s right on 9^th near The National — FYI, 9^th is a one way street so you may have to go up 10^th for a block and loop back around.
The name on the door is «BC Modern Furniture» and they’re open Fri-​Sun from 10 – 4. In addition, they run estate sales and host one day flea markets so check their website for upcoming events and sales. If you visit the store, know that it’s mostly mid-​century furniture with some same era collectables thrown in. It’s not a huge place but it’s very, very well curated. This is some of the nicest looking vintage furniture I’ve seen in town — lots of sideboards, dressers, end tables and some truly glorious sofas. Prices are commensurate with the quality — a big 2 piece sectional sofa with immaculate original upholstery was in the $ 600 range. That said, they’re willing to negotiate so if you see something you love, have the conversation.
The Mister grabbed a fun Maifest stein and a vintage German décor mag from 1964 for $ 10, so we left happy. They are adding things all the time so if you’re trying to up the hipster cachet on your sweet Bay View bungalow definitely check them out.
