Burnhearts is my favorite bar to go to with friends in Bay View. It provides an excellent selection of harder to find craft beer, has some great cocktails, and a lot of group seating(indoors and outdoors). The inside is an eclectic mix of classic milwaukee bar and retro polynesian/sailer décor. If you don’t believe me you’ll just have to take a quick look around to see all the romantic red lighting, naked hulu girl art, and the wooden woman figurehead in the main bar area. While the front bar room area can be a little loud when crowded the back room is usually a lot quieter and even has a pool table. Parking is usually pretty easy since Burnhearts is located on Logan Ave and not KK!

Burnhearts is my fave, folks. More craft beer than you can shake a stick at, whatever that means. I love the super chill vibe here, and it makes me feel less pretentious about my IPA snobbery. I love the tables in the back. Good for date nights, business meetings, and quiet solo hangs. Maybe my favorite thing about Burnhearts is their street festivals/special events. Mittenfest is rad and the punk basement show thing lives up to its name. Endless heart emojis!

Pretty hip. Popular place to grab a drink with friends. I am not a drinker myself, and found them not carrying much choice for non drinkers as a lot of places do.

Let’s start with I am only giving this place two stars because of the stellar beer selection. Otherwise I would give it a zero for the fact that when trying to order an old fashioned, which by the way, we were told they make really good ones here, the bartender basically told us in a roundabout way that we were delusional to even think that she would take the time to make us a drink because they were just too busy. I’m sorry, I have lived in Wisconsin all of my life, and no matter what bar I have been to, whatever you order, if the bar has it in stock the bartender will make it, no matter how busy they are. Clearly they don’t need the business so I will gladly not patronize that establishment again.

Great selection of craft beer, some mixed drinks, great service, packed many nights a week, hosts many beer tapings and special events. Great music too.

Great beer list, cozy-cool atmosphere, artisan cocktails and wonderful décor. what more can you ask from a neighborhood bar that has obviously taken things to the next level? I like that I ordered a french gimlet and the bartender didn’t roll his eyes or ask me what’s in it. Classic cocktails should be the repertoire of any bartender anywhere, if you ask me. Burnhearts did not disappoint.

Super friendly, knowledgeable, rad bartenders. Super extensive beer list. Super fun atmosphere — it can get busy and is small — so be warned! Super hidden(ish) back area with pool table and shuffleboard! Super, just super.

Best Beer selection in Milwaukee! They always something new to try, that is not avaliable anywhere else. The bartenders are friendly and knowledgeable. The atmosphere is unique and there is even an outdoor sitting area. Go there now! !

Cool bar with an impressive selection of draft and bottled craft and imported beers. The crowd is mixed, but mostly a hipster vibe, I thought so anyway. Bartenders weren’t the friendliest, but I didn’t go to make friends with them. I went to drink a beer, and they served me one. I will definitely visit again.

In addition to being arguably the best beer bar in Milwaukee, Burnheart’s is a place with a great atmosphere. The variety of taps and bottles is extensive and constantly updated, and there’s something for every taste. Burnheart’s has a decent gluten free selection, as well as great– and rare-craft brews. The bartenders are friendly and knowledgeable, and are happy to make recommendations. On the weekends, the place gets pretty packed with the Bay View hipster crowd– my favorite time to visit is during Sunday afternoons when it’s relatively chill.

YES, hipster, antiquey microbrews in Bayview! I liked the Bell’s stout. It’s a little small though… come on a slow night or with a small group.

It’s tough to go against the grain sometimes but with Burnhearts I must be missing something. Perhaps this is a place people like because other people like. Or perhaps I don’t appreciate it. But Burnhearts was nothing special at all to me. The bartender wasn’t friendly. The place is small and divey, and there’s nothing too unique about it. They do have a solid draft beer list, but the drinks aren’t all that cheap, especially for Bay View. I paid $ 12.50 for two drinks, on a Wednesday, in Bay View. The music selection(perhaps it was just that night) was loud and intruding. I can understand and dig the whole not having at TV thing, so people can talk to eachother and have conversation rather than distraction. I get it. But the loud music made it hard to do that. I didn’t check out the back which I heard can be cool, perhaps I should have, but it didn’t seem to be «open». When reading the reviews of this place, perhaps I’ve missed something. But I didn’t feel welcome at this bar, I felt like I shouldn’t be there. I’ll take my business elsewhere, but to everyone who loves Burnhearts — you can have my spot.

I agree with Steve L on all accounts. (When it comes to life, but also Burnhearts.) The place has a stellar line-up of tasty brews and much like a few places I adore in Madison(Malt House & Brasserie V) they’re served in the vessels they are supposed to be sipped out of. The other thing I adore… the bartender that was there the afternoon I was didn’t care that we wanted to try all the things. She was kind to pull small oz pours of a few things we were debating about, and that helped us reach some decisions. I like all the little off-shoots of the main bar and the outdoor seating is nice. I do wish the bathrooms were a bit larger though or that there was a lock on them. They’re not really made for two, but as far as I could tell, you can’t close everyone else out.

Yea, it’s hipster — but it’s still cool. I dig Burnhearts. The shuffle board in the back is way rad. Well except for this past weekend, it had barely any sand and was beat to hell on one end. But still, we made it work. They have other games and cards, too. Spades anyone??? They have funky music and some of the funnest beers around. I had something with Chardonnay barrel aged something or other and I only hope to have the nameless exquisite brew again… It’s kind of in a residential area. We got that going on here in ‘sconsin. You never know when a bar or restaurant will pop up in your face. A few blocks from Odd Duck and all that stuff so the walk is totally doable. Again, I just dig it.

Fun and VERY hipster bar a bit off the main drag in Bayview. Came here to have a heart to heart with a friend. The atmosphere was real chill and the booze selection was wonderful. I got a buffalo trace on the rocks, which is rare I can find that whiskey. Overall I would come back again for sure. Maybe with a group so we could play some games together.

How can you not like a bar that holds outdoor festivals like Mitten Fest in the Winter and PBR Fest in the summer including an outdoor bar named«Brandy Land» serving Old Fashioneds? Not to mention they also bring in some great local bands at these fests. But that’s not the real reason to go to Burnhearts. I love this bar. Great casual, cozy atmosphere with a fantastic beer selection and knowledgeable bartenders. They are always happy to give you a little sample just to make sure you’ll be happy. A great deal is the sampler, especially if you order before 8pm. Four 6-oz pours for $ 8. A great way to try a nice selection of different brews. Some of them can have a pretty high ABV, so this is a good way to stay in control… yeah, right. This is a fun place to bring out-of-towners as they’ll get to see a good cross section of typical Milwaukeeans, which are mostly good, friendly folks. Many of the beers come from local Wisconsin brewers as well as our neighbors in Illinois and Michigan who are making some great craft beers as well. They also have a nice stock of specialty beers if you really want to get impressive. You’ll also find a bunch of board games and a pool table in the back room. This is a great place to kick back, enjoy a local beer and/or an Old-Fashioned and a mean game of cribbage. Life is good.

Touted as one of the best beer bars in Milwaukee, it’s sad that I took me over a year to make it to Burnhearts. Boasting 25ish on tap with a healthy mix of both local and national brews, I was glad to be able to try a few new ones. You can tell Burnhearts selects their taps carefully. They had a few breweries represented that I’ve rarely seen around town. Although I shy away from bottle lists, Burnhearts has some great choices. Again, their bottle/can list is curated very well with some unique beers. They even have a few aged bottles. Burnhearts is a great place to kick back and enjoy a beer with friends. However on weekends after 10 pm, it can get a little loud. That’s when the proportion of people ordering PBR and Miller increases. ;)
