I know you are jealous about AYCE cheese! You are thinking that you want to go next year but unfortunately you will have to trek to Chicago in 2016 and Minneapolis in 2017 before it returns to Wisconsin in 2018. This event was sold out a few weeks ago. Tickets were only $ 25/person which included an insulated tote bag and all the cheese you cared to sample. They had a bar where you could purchase wine, beer or cocktails to pair with your cheese. They limited the number of tickets to 700 people so lines were easy to navigate. I easily think they could have priced tickets at $ 35 to $ 40 and people would have been pleased. The vendors were also selling their cheeses at the event. I couldn’t believe that I got a big hunk of Carr Valley cheese for only $ 5. The cheese was very reasonably priced so I had to take a few items home with me. There were also additional breakout sessions for $ 30 extra on cheese tasting etc which we decided not to attend. Some of the top rate cheese factories were in attendance: Carr Valley, Sartori, LaClare, etc. My favorite was the goat cheese curds from LaClare. I had to take home a bag for $ 5. The Pritzlaff building is a great venue with big open spaces and an old world charm. The only negative was parking but they warned you when you purchased the tickets that there was limited street parking and not many parking lots nearby. Also, they could have provided water to drink between cheese tastings. Near the end we had all the cheese we could possibly eat without going into a food coma. Today it was amazingly good but tomorrow my body may not be happy for eating all of that cheese!
