I usually don’t come to this bar often, but when I do, my experience has been very pleasant. The atmosphere is lively near the bar area. I wasn’t too impressed with the Coyote Bar, but that could just be my personal preference.

I was walking down water street on a Wednesday night during summer fest and noticed there were more people in this bar than some of the others that I walked past. So I stopped in for a quick drink. Bad idea. I guess it was auditioning night. So that explains the crowd. The music was way too loud for the vibe. The bar staff continually tried to push some overpriced franchise merchandise down your throat. The bouncers were idiots trying to start fights and throw customers out. I touched a server on the shoulder while I leaned in to order a drink and the bouncer came up and started yelling at me about touching the girls. Really? This isn’t a strip club buddy. At the end of the night when I got my bill I was charged triple what I actually drank. I asked to see an itemized receipt which they were reluctant to give. I finally told them that I had to have it to get reimbursed at work. The big extra item ended up being a $ 40 tidal wave. Which I guess was when they poured water on one of the girls at the bar behind me and soaked my back. Glad I paid for that fun experience. The rest of the items were drinks that the bar staff drank. Every time I ordered something, they just made it double and had one themselves without telling me. That and additional shots that I never ordered or even saw anyone drink. The total for the three drinks that I had — $ 127 bucks. When I signed the receipt with a three dollar tip, the server slammed it back on the bar and said,“try again, you just left a three dollar tip on a 130 dollar bill.” Wow. Bottom line: Don’t go, it’s not a very good bar to begin with and you might get ripped off.

Bartenders are great! But the prices could be better. Don’t get very much for your buck. But, my husband and I will be back.

the manager of this bar is such a jerk to call him a douchebag would be an insult to douchebags everywhere I used to cum in and drink 2 – 3 times a week I got banned cuz he went through old credit card receipts and saw I wasn’t tipping enough so wrong

There is something for everyone at this place on the weekends. Traditional Coyote Ugly experience on 1st floor, DJ rocking the 2nd floor, and a relaxed chill zone on the roof top with a bar. People here are fun, talkative, and loud just like any hotspot is supposed to be. If your looking to let loose and have a crazy fun time this is your place!

Ok, so unlike many of the other reviews here I liked the place. Yes when we arrived on Friday at around 6pm we were the only people in the place. Ok, that meant that we were able to get seats at the bar. Yay! The bartender was a fun, attractive, talkative young woman who we enjoyed very much. The drinks were on the pricey side — $ 17 for a Grey Goose and Red Bull and a Jose Cuervo Margarita on the rocks. Soon however others did arrive and it got fun. The bartender was quick to get us involved in a bar game with another couple(which we won), and a group of guys from Michigan on a bachelor party showed up as well. All in all we had a great time. Enjoyed the people and the staff and would come back again. I couldn’t see staying here all night as it would not take long to go broke, but for a stop for a couple of drinks and a fun, lively atmosphere, you bet, I’m there.

This was the most lame bar I have ever been to. Came in on a sunday night, drinks were very high, only one bar girl in the place. Don’t waste your time here

I wanted so badly for this place to be *just like*the movie that I adore. I remember seeing Coyote Ugly in theaters when I was 15 and had a little dream of one day being a pretty«coyote,» dancing on the bar and making drinks. So I was pretty darn excited when I heard a Coyote Ugly was opening in Milwaukee. I had this idea in my head that I would walk in, jump in the mix, and they’d offer me a job… The first time I went, it was just after they opened. I was supporting a friend who was auditioning. I had an awesome time — I even got up on the bar and danced and sang, and the manager wanted me to interview since I already«auditioned.» Seriously. Well, I didn’t take it for several reasons… Every time after my initial visit, this place has gotten skeezier and sleazier. The clientele did a 180: from fun-loving 20– to 40-somethings(males and plenty of females) to primarily dirty, sleaze-bag men. Gross men that have the nerve to hit on me when my boyfriend is standing next to me. The drink prices sky rocketed; last time, it was $ 8 for a short rail rum&diet! The girls pretty much beg for money, which might be correlated with the fact the«quality» of the girls has gone downhill. On the first — and even second — visit, it seemed like pretty normal girls who wanted a fun job and enjoyed the gig. The last time I felt like they were glorified strippers who did not enjoy the gig. Idk, that’s just the vibe I get. Also, I don’t like all the sexual stuff they do(see other reviews, particularly Heidi C’s, for good descriptions)… it’s not cute or sexy. And seriously, that was NOT in the movie. I hear they have a good happy hour but the fear of being begged for $ or hit on by other patrons keeps me from going. Bottom line: I’m incredibly disappointed with this establishment. At this point, I’m not sure if they can turn it around and have it appeal to a non-strip club loving crowd. I won’t be going back unless they make a valiant attempt to clean it up and lower drink prices.

Wow. Just wow. I remember the original in NY, and this isn’t even close. In the 45 minutes we were there, we heard five different songs thanks to three of them being repeated. The hype girl on the bar, while very cute, didn’t seem too comfortable with her prancing back and forth. She was trying, sorta, but the crowd really didn’t help, as it was a large number of older guys in cowboy hats and big belt buckles. Beer is cheap, the bartenders were friendly, and this could work as a dive bar on its own with some help, but it needs to lose the franchise tag and the constant screams of «get me wet» and«buy my underwear» unless they manage to get all of the dudebro’s to come in.

All I can say is «The movie lied!» Well not completely… there were girls dancing on the bar. May have been girls that had no place dancing on a bar, but they were girls. I still have the image scarred in my mind of a «Bride to be» on stage with a skirt up to her ass with a thong on… wait for it… with a big ass and set of thighs that looked like she stood outside in a hail storm. All I can say is I have finally been to a Coyote Ugly. Will I go back? Probably not, unless the talent is better in other cities. Just saying.

I stopped in here Thursday Night around 10:00. I expected a crowd, but it was almost empty. A Bachelor Party, two couples and several single guys(me included). Hung around for one drink, basically because the bartenders were hot. Maybe it would be more fun on a different night, but I won’t be in a hurry to find out. They are Wheelchair Accessible, but the space itself is very narrow and I think if it were crowded, it wouldn’t be very wheelchair«friendly».

Oh hello overpriced drinks… and dude-fest. I should of known, I mean they made a movie about this bar(not the Milwaukee one granted). But still, it had a lot to live up to and left me with a lot to desire. I didn’t see the Coyote Ugly personality in the bartenders, maybe 2 of the 5 were a good fit, the others were ‘shy’? Plus, random drunk girls dancing on the bar only added to the amount of horny drunk guys trying to sneak a peak up their skirts. Yeah, I don’t really see any girls stopping in there any time soon, which means it’ll stay a sausage-fest for a long time. That place has so much potential but no one goes back after their first visit. Disappointing. The only cool thing is that I can check this off my bucket list and never to return. But hey, if you’re looking to embarrass a friend on his birthday, $ 20 gets him a «body» shot and some ‘mean love’ from the bartenders. So a quick in and out may be in order for a special occasion.

I’ve been living in Milwaukee since August and have avoided Water St. entirely until Sunday night. An out of town friend wanted to see what Coyote Ugly was all about, so we made a visit after dinner. The bartenders were pleasant and I enjoyed the interaction they had with their customers. One thing they should taken note of is that not everyone living in the city contributes to the«Drunkest City in the US» crown on the city’s head. I quit drinking about 18 years ago because I just wasn’t very good at it to make the long story short. I was a little bummed when the bartenders decided to exploit my sobriety as part of their evening schtick though. «How’s your soda, Kip… How’s that water, Kip?» Totally lame. I realized long before this visit to Water St. that not everyone is respectful of one’s decision to better their life and kick their vices to the curb. i never realized I’d go to an establishment where the employees would be completely insensitive about it. I will definitely never return, but will toss advice to the bartenders in case they ever serve someone who doesn’t drink again… don’t charge them senseless amounts for soda or water and watch the amount of tips you receive grow. If it doesn’t make sense now, it will after you treat someone decently and show them a little respect. If you’re a college-aged student looking to get dunk, laid, or dance on the bar… this place rules! Heh.

I came here on a Saturday night after a Bucks game. It seemed to be a lot of people out that night but Coyote Ugly wasn’t as populated. I do like that is has two levels and a lot of space downstairs. It’s cool that the girls dance on the bar like in the movie. Plus they try to get other ladies involved so it’s a good atmosphere in there. However, the crowd was a bit odd. Maybe it was just the night I went on but There were quite a few older people in there(40’s mostly) and definitely not enough women for my taste. It just wasn’t a cool crowd(strictly my opinion) — I didn’t feel the vibe when I walked in that I look for. I did manage to have a good time because I was hanging out with a few people who were just being silly and dancing. I would consider going back to see if it’s any better but I’m not in a big rush to get back. My guess is if you liked that movie you gotta at least go check this place out… haha. Maybe you might go on the right night and it’s a blast. Don’t forget to let me know about it.

I hate chain restaurants and bars, but was actually kind of excited when I heard coyote ugly would be coming to milwaukee. Literally the second me and my friends walked into this place we all looked at each other and said, «trashy.» But, it was my friends birthday so we decided to stay and order at least one body shot. I get that the place is brand new, so maybe the ‘coyotes’ aren’t too good at their job yet, but seriously the worst body shot ever, all they did was hold the shot glass for me and pour me some lime juice, and thought it was just fine to charge me an extra $ 20 body shot fee. When she handed me the $ 33 dollar tab for one shot, I just looked at her and asked her if she was serious, $ 20 to have my friend lay on the bar and you hand me my shot glass? I’m all for paying extra for fun shots but this was ridiculous. Just because your chain of bars was in a movie, its not okay to charge outrageous prices for your drinks, needless to say I will not be returning back to this bar.

Went ot opening night for this place it was good times. There are two bars one upstairs and one downstairs each with their own coyote Ugly show. My group and I agreed that the show down stairs was much better and there was more room. I think we will go back again, and review this place when it has been open for a little bit.

«Is it like the movie?» my boyfriend asked. I replied, «Um, kinda I guess.» Yes there is dancing on bars and I saw a guy get his tie cut off as well. I guess the ridiculous crowd surrounding the bar is like the movie where no one seems to be able to get a drink because it is so crowded is like the movie… although, don’t quote me on it, it’s been a while since I’ve seen the movie. I liked that there were multiple floors and tables spread throughout, but knowing Milwaukee, maybe they should have made the bar bigger on the first level and skipped on Coyote Ugly Gear Store. I did go on opening night, so I guess I probably should have expected it to be busy and crowded, but it was really just out of hand. And bar patrons taking photos of the bartenders, gives me the hebie jeebies. I’d probably give it the benefit of the doubt and up it to 3 stars, but having drinks knocked into me, not really pleasant. Will I go back? Probably, I mean it is a good gimmick and all, but it won’t be for the overpriced drinks and creep factor of some of the patrons.
