So I was a little unfair about my last review and waited a little bit before posting it. Since my experience the guy that messed all my shit up his been removed from the shop and another guy from there messaged me about my review and seemed genuine about turning the place around. I can’t forget about my experience there since it’s not tattooed on my arm forever but I can say at least the new people there are moving in the right direction to turn that place around. Customer service is a big part of a competitive industry and its a shame he wasn’t there before I went in. So therefor I can’t comment on the quality of their work anymore since they’ve removed people, but at least the people are pretty respectful even after you leave a mean review.

I went to get my triple helix pierced here and got pierced by patrick. He told me that you can only pierce it with hoops at first, and if you use studs they will get embedded in your skin and need to get them cut out. I went ahead and had him do the piercing but driving away thought that it seemed wrong because i had always heard you are supposed to pierce with studs or it will heal wrong. I went to atomic tattoo to get a second opinion and called avant garde and both places said that patrick did not know what he was talking about and that the way he pierced it would mess up the healing process. Atomic did a wonderful job fixing the mess cutthroat did for me. I would stay away from cut throat. as well as this i went with a friend who wanted a tattoo the tattoo artist was rude and tried changing her design. Also he had a wait 20 min before he started because he wanted to go smoke a cig first. After waiting 20 min we left. Just a awful place.

My arm is fucked up! I got a tattoo from an artist here and he pressed so hard my arm has gashes in it. it stings is bright red and looks terrible. I will be lucky if someone can fix this when it heals. I will not put an artist on blast but I would be careful with who you may choose to tattoo you at this parlor.

I had a spur of the moment idea to get a piercing today and stumbled across this place. The staff was very knowledgeable. Sometimes when walking in to tattoo parlors it is a little intimidating, but not here! The staff made me feel very comfortable and I trusted them completely with putting a hole in me! I will definitely be back for a tattoo!

1st tattoo at age 56. I walked into Cutthroat and they were friendly and accommodating. Jake did a great job! I would highly recommend CutThroat Tattoo.

Everyone at Cutthroat is great! I’ve had negative experiences at other shops around the neighborhood, but Cutthroat has never let me down. It is an extremely clean environment with people that are very serious about their work. I’ve gotten multiple piercings done by Jeff, who is highly knowledgeable in his work for he’s been piercing for years. His prices may be a bit higher than other shops, but this is because he insists on using higher quality jewelry. In the long run, better quality jewelry is worth the price difference! I’ve never had a piercing reject or get infected with his work, compared to some nasty cases I’ve had with jewelry made in China — and it simply looks better! He is always very informative through the piercing process and made me feel very comfortable, even though I hate needles! I planned a large tattoo and looked around at different shops for an artist, and decided to go with Mike D at Cutthroat. Everyone has great portfolios there, but I loved Mike D’s style. He worked with my price range, drew up my piece exactly how I dreamed it to be, and executed it beautifully. It took two sessions, but both times everyone was very kind to me and made sure I was comfortable. Jeff even gave me a sugar tablet when I looked a little pale. I recommend this shop to all of my friends, and I nor any of them have ever been disappointed!

Reasonably priced piercing, although my first piercing here was a cheaper price than my second one, both which were done within weeks of each other. I don’t know what was going on but felt a little cheated the second time around. Overall, the service provided by Jeff was great but the capricious pricing seems a bit«cutthroat»…,

All of this is said excluding Brian at Cutthroat. Beside Brian, I respect no one at this shop. Their tattoo artists have quoted myself and friends incorrectly too many times. I’ve continued to give this shop a chance seeing that some good work comes out of it, but it’s not even worth it. The last time we walked in my friend wanted a tattoo they quoted at $ 80. Made sense for what it was, when she asked how much it would cost to add an extra line about 3 inches in length, he told her it would be $ 140. I’ve worked at shops, and I know what goes on. I want to support Milwaukee artists and get ink from shops all over, but Cutthroat continues to piss me off more and more.

BRIANISTHEBEST! I got a traditional rose tattoo with a banner and it looks incredible. He’s a master with color. And he’s super helpful and collaborative.

I got a new tattoo this weekend, and I got it done by Brian at Cutthroat. I love my new tattoo for myriad reasons, but in honest, aside from the sentimental ones, it turned out pretty dang awesome. He did a great job; it looks exactly as I hoped it would. SO here’s the thing: I am a tattoo person, but you might not know it, since I don’t really show it. Most of my work isn’t visible immediately… so I’m pretty sure people don’t think of me as a, quote unquote«tattoo person.» That said, I am and I love them, and I plan on getting a few more before I’m through.(Sorry mom.) Brian specializes in more traditional stuff(sailor Jerry style five-pointed stars and flowers and the like), but he does great work all around. He drew-up and did my mister’s day of the dead sugar skull, which is awesome. He did a wrench for my friend on his forearm that’s insanely impressive… the line work is really clean. And he, despite his probably not loving it, honored my request for a last minute artsy-fartsy nautical compass. And it’s great. So Cutthroat: If you love traditional stuff and clean lines, go, and ask for Brian. He’s pretty dang good at what he does.
