Food was awesome, Filet with a salad. Server could have been a little more atentative. All the food was awesome, so was the server but a couple times I asked for something and had to ask again.

this place is seriously ridiculous. all hype and no food. i was busy talking to the folks in my party so i did not study the menu. i ordered the ahi, my favorite thing to order anywhere. $ 32. what i got was a thin strip of sliced ahi with absolutely nothing else — not a grain of rice, not a sprig of asparagus. the ahi itself was unremarkable. bland with only enough drizzle for the first 2 – 3 pieces. $ 32. give me a break. to make matters worse, using a shiny tong, they rationed out one small roll for each diner. they could not bring a basket of rolls to the table because i guess that is how peasants do it. when someone asked for an extra roll, they acted like the person asked for an extra plate of free caviar. they didn’t even refill my pepsi. how could they, with pepsi prices being what they are. [eye roll]. i live in a large international city so i am no stranger to fine dining. the keyword is «dining». there was plenty of posturing, and hardly any dining.

A friend and I had dinner there over the Labor Day weekend and we were both very impressed. I had a New York strip au poivre which was outstanding. My friend had the filet with Bearnaise sauce and he loved it. We had the trio of sides which was fine. For dessert, I had Macadamia carrot cake and he had the chocolate cake which came with a large amount of dark shaved chocolate. Both of which were terrific. Coffee was served in a French press, a nice touch. Service was great. We talked about how good everything was for quite a while. If you haven’t tried it, you certainly should.

I have frequented this restaurant so many times that I have tried every seafood dish on the menu. The best part about the Chophouse is the warm bread served with the trio of spreads. The gorgonzola butter spread is my absolute favorite! I always request Derrick because if you are a frequent customer, he remembers exactly what you like and all I have to do is sit down and my favorite glass of wine magically appears; now, that’s what I call an excellent waiter. All of their seafood dishes are tasty, but I particularly love the lobster and the lobster mac and cheese. Having gone to this restaurant for the past 2 years, I was happy to see that they FINALLY made some slight changes to the menu. If only these changes would extend to the dessert section then I wouldn’t have to walk to C. Adam’s at the Public Market for dessert.

Every year I visit the Chophouse multiple times when I stay at the Hilton. What I love while eating in the bar is the Trio — it’s three side dishes for about $ 15. Marinated mushrooms, lobster mac and cheese and green beans. So good! The bar/server Marco is very good(and remembers my gang from year to year)! The atmosphere is so nice, we have met so many friendly people over the years.

Yoko was our server very nice lady. She gave me a selection for a drink which was get yummy. However the crab cakes were cold in the middle. The bread was warm and delicious the blue cheese butter taste really good. Our Cesar salad was delicious and I had a second drink in the mean time(don’t judge me it’s Saturday lol). Our server made conversation and suggestion before selecting our food. If you will be in the area and have dinner here ask for yoko(lovely lady) DING! Great dinner overall great service except for the fact that we wore sweat pants and the hostess mentioned it. But yet we saw people coming in with biker jacket and baseball caps.

The food was only outdone by the service. As always you get what you pay for and this restaurant delivers. Come on Friday for date night you will not be disappointed. Ask for Joe he is the most outstanding waiter I have ever had the pleasure of meeting.

Had a great dinner. Service was excellent and the food was wonderful. Get the side trio. It’s enough for 2 to share. Great wine selection via an iPad.

We were in town and staying at the Hilton. We decided to eat dinner at the Chophouse prior to going to the Pabst Theatre for a show. We were seated right away. The atmosphere is very elegant and intimate. There was a slight mix-up between servers over who was in charge of our table, but it did not affect our experience. Our waitress, Heather, was very attentive and friendly. We got the white sangria and the spiked ice tea to start – both of which were very good. You are given bread along with four different spreads/dips to start. We ordered the Beef Carpaccio for an appetizer. The beef was very rare and sliced really thin and it made for a nice appetizer without being too filling. My boyfriend ordered the ribeye for his entrée while I ordered off the seasonal menu and got the Braised Beef Gnocchi. We then ordered 3-sides and picked the asparagus, brussell sprouts and lobster mac and cheese. Everything was presented really well and tasted great! We were full by the end of our meal and pleased with our overall experience! The items on the menu are pricey but we went there expecting it to be pricey since it is a fancier place. We liked the idea that it was ala carte and you could pick various menu items and share sides which allowed us to try various items. We’d recommend this place and would go back!

Our large group was seated in a room adjacent to the main dining room in this lovely restaurant. We were immediately greeted by Jack, our waiter who pleasantly introduced himself and then went about bringing us drinks. Since there were many drinks to be delivered, the Manager, Michael also helped serve us. It is clear that the team works together to assure the diners have a stellar experience. Having a private room was perfect for us since there were some announcements and recognitions to be made — preventing any disturbance to diners in the main dining room. The service and food were both exceptional. The food came out at one time and it was all hands on deck to deliver it to our tables so the entire party ate at the same time. I asked for my salmon to be served as raw as the chef felt it could be served. It arrived rare and perfect — my instructions had clearly been expressed to the chef. The ambiance of this restaurant carries out the beautiful décor of the Hilton where it is housed. A real treat for those of us who appreciate old architectural details.

Okay for a hotel restaurant. Not the best steakhouse, but definitely not a bad option. — Braised beef(bar menu) was wonderful and tender — Caprese salad(bar menu) was not great — the mozzarella and tomatoes lacked a lot of taste — Hamburger(bar menu) was good and comes with crispy fries — Carpaccio(bar menu) was okay. The crostini that it comes with were perfectly crispy, but the sauce they used on the meat, was not the best. Perhaps personal preference, but it ruined the taste of the meat — Green beans — excellent — Mushrooms — Drenched in oil and sauce… not the best. Too much sauce

I had a delightful and scrumptious meal here. It is fancy-schmanzy all white table cloths and high prices type of classy. Everything is ala carte so your meal can cha-ching –add up very quickly. They have amazing salads on the menu — and quality ingredients, some very large sized sides, and of course all the classics you would expect at an American food fine dining establishment. I am so happy i decided on a special from the seasonal menu. It was wonderful and I ate every bite. Beef short rib with sweet potato gnocchi, fava beans and grape tomatoes. I enjoyed my glass of dry white wine and indulged in a crème brûlée’ for dessert which frankly was not that good and I typically love crème brûlée. This one has a fake sugar taste to it and no vanilla bean flecks. My dining partner had the wedge salad and it looked amazing. She mentioned it several times over the next few days So I think it was her favorite part of her meal. She ordered the filet at 32.00 for just one little piece of meat and a large baked potato that could have fed three people it was that large. I would certainly eat here again.

Took my girlfriend out for a night in Milwaukee, we had dinner at the Milwaukee Chophouse and we enjoyed it very much. We both got the 14oz ribeye, along with green beans, asparagus, a baked potato and tuna tartar. Everything from warm bread that your waiter/waitress brings you is delightful. I enjoyed my steak and she did as well, really melted in your mouth. The green beans and asparagus were delicious. While reading reviews on the chophouse, I noticed there were several people that noted poor customer service, we did not experience this whatsoever. Our waitress was very knowledgable and our drinks never became more than ¼ full before they were refilled kindly. Prices are good, service was excellent, and food was incredible. I would definitely visit this restaurant again in the future.

Here for business and staying at the Hilton; after a long day we just wanted easy. Seated immediately and ordered. I had the sea bass and it was amazing. Several ordered filets and they also enjoyed. I don’t mind paying for great food, cooked to perfection! If you are looking for great food Chop House is a good choice.

My husband and I went here for our anniversary dinner and had such a wonderful experience! Our server was knowledgable and very helpful when picking our drinks and steak preparation. We each had salad and steaks, and wow! I got a NY strip with the cave aged blue cheese and the maître d’ butter and it was phenomenal(as long as you like blue cheese). My husband got the truffle butter on his steak, which I gladly samples and was also impressed. We shared a side of twice baked potatoes, which weren’t bad but severely paled in comparison to our steaks. Our night was capped off with a surprise piece of blueberry cheesecake — which was also delicious. The entire staff was friendly and the food was excellent. We were literally in a food coma the whole next day. I would definitely go back and recommend it for a nice occasion.

I normally eat at kil@wat, but had a Marcus Club member discount card so gave it a try. Boy was i glad i decided to explore. Service was excellent. Atmosphere is perfect, not too quiet but not disruptive either. And the food was delectable. I had the Veal chop, my daughter had the strip steak. Melted in your mouth. One of the best dirty Martinis I’ve had. The Wild mushrooms served with the Veal were very tasty. My daughter enjoyed her fudge cake dessert. Will be returning for a date night with my hubby in the near future.

I came during downtown dining. We were seated, the waiter comes over and the first thing he says is how busy he is. It felt like he was saying the service is going to suck, just so you know. We tried asking about the wine list and he seemed really anxious and uninterested in helping us select a bottle. He left, we discussed it and chose a bottle. When he came back we told him what we wanted and he said they were out. We picked a different Sauvignon Blanc and he said they were out of that too. He claimed that he had gone down to the cellar to get a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc for another table and he’d be hard pressed to find any more. This tells me that the issue isn’t that they didn’t have any, but he didn’t want the extra work of going and finding one. I ordered a salad, a medium rare steak and a twice baked potato. The salad and potato were great, but the steak I got was medium well. The waiter left and I realized how over cooked it was. He came back and my friend noted that my steak wasn’t medium rare. I give him credit here, because he brought me a new steak, which was SO much better. Overall, the service was poor and the food was average. I don’t have plans to go back again.

Went for an after dinner cocktail and dessert. Not too busy. We sat at the bar. I ordered a frosted banana martini. our bartender disappeared for what seemed like forever. She said she was looking for a banana for the garnish. Actually it was about 20 min which is 20 years in bar time! The drink was just ok. It tasted like Godiva chocolate martini with no taste if banana. I didn’t drink it and it was removed from the bill without asking. We also ordered a carrot cake. No eye contact when I confirmed the order. Now the carrot cake– there are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe that cake! It was the best carrot cake ever. It was a death row meal carrot cake. Light cake. Many layers, perfect ratio of icing to cake, and crunchier things on top. Wow wow wow! Come here for the carrot cake and the surly service :)

Chophouse is in the ground floor of the venerable Milwaukee Hilton and as the ‘premier’ restaurant in the hotel there’s a reputation that has to be maintained. And yep, it hits all the high points of an expensive steak joint: hostess in an elegant but slightly sexy dress, wait staff in finely appointed serving outlets, actual tablecloths on the table, a proper butter knife and bread plate, lots of exposed dark wood accents, and a menu with very high prices. As expected, the side items are all add-ons. I find this a bit annoying. When you’re spending $ 40 for a steak, should you really have to pay $ 5 for some scalloped potatoes or steamed veggies? Oh, well. Do have the salad, which is a nice scoop of shredded lettuce and macon and dressing presented well. It’s a good appetizer. The steak? Oh, yeah, this was an excellent steak. Perhaps a little too well done(my medium rare as well as that of my table mate was definitely medium). Yes, the manager stopped by to ask, but you know, I just can’t deal with sending food back to the kitchen. So instead, here I am slamming them semi-anonymously on Unilocal.Oops. Other than being a bit too well done, it was excellent. New York strip had the right texture and an excellent flavor. I had it «au poivre» which is a great peppery topping and really accents the steak. We skipped dessert. $ 110 for two steaks, two beers and two salads. Woo!
