Buffets: yawn. This is a buffet. So by definition: yawn. I’ll find something to eat, but nothing is going to be great, and I’m positive tons of food is wasted daily. I also hate seeing the piles of food(all different stuff, touching each other) on other people’s plates. So, worse than yawn. Gross.

I have visited the buffet multiple times. I would say it is pretty typical buffet fare. I like how they offer different specialty buffets throughout the week such as the crab leg buffet. Prices vary day to day depending on the special. On my most recent visit we went at about 2 p.m. on a monday. It was only open until 4 because they do not offer the dinner buffet on Mondays. The price was only $ 14, I used my Fire Keepers Club $ 10 off coupon so $ 4 for a buffet was a spanking good deal. There were multiple different stations; the first salad station had a make your own sandwich area, there was a standard salad station, the mediterranean station included pizza and pastas, the latin station had fixings for tacos, nachos and fajitas, the asian station included fried rice and crab rangoons, the american station had fried chicken and shrimp as well as sliced beef with sides such as potatoes, fries and veggies, there was a bread station that offered different types of rolls and butter and lastly the dessert station included a variety of hot and cold desserts as well as ice cream and sugar free offerings. My first plate I got fried chicken, fried shrimp, ranch fries, a meatball, a lemon chicken wing, baked risotto and a mini cornbread muffin. My second plate consisted of a taco, a salad and an onion dinner roll. Everything I had was totally acceptable food, nothing was«gross» by any means. I tend to hold pretty low standards when it comes to buffets, the only good ones I have ever had have been in Vegas. My only complaint is the dessert section. I love a good sweet and with how much of a variety they have with all the other food I wish that would be the same with dessert, I mean, if you want something sweet you’ll find something that will work for you. I just would’ve liked something a little more«interesting».

The only reason I came here with my husband was because we had a ‘buy one get one free’ coupon from a pamphlet type thing we got at an Admiral’s game. We decided to go to the breakfast buffet because it was cheaper(yes sometimes I will look at prices of places to determine when I will go eat there. Don’t judge me!). The place was fairly clean and it wasn’t too busy on a Sunday morning. We were served our beverages and we were given Champagne. I didn’t drink any so my husband drank them both, which he was fine with. The food was okay — it was nothing to rave about. It was edible but it’s not a place where I am just dying to return to nor would I recommend it. Though there was variety, I felt like the food had been sitting there a while and some of it just looked gross. I won’t be back for the breakfast buffet, maybe the buffet at other times is better? Maybe I’ll give it another try… or maybe I won’t…only time will tell.

Sunday Brunch at the Potawatomi Casino is $ 16 with a card and $ 18 without. Strong emphasis on the breakfast side of a Sunday Brunch(eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, etc.) there is also«prime rib,» ham, and a large salad bar. It remains to be seen if the buffet is as lavish as the traditional weekday lunch offering(given that the price is higher), but it’s worth checking out.

We came here because there was a free buffet with our summerfest tix. Our buffet was the Sunday brunch which included a custom omelet station, breakfast foods, Mexican, Italian(pizza and pasta), Asian, and of course american. Prime rib is available during the brunch as well. My favorite part of this mediocre meal was the made to order omelet. I get to choose what I want and it hits the spot! The dessert station had a big variety with decent picks. The prime rib was over cooked and the rest of the food was just okay. I tried a piece of pizza Bc of Unilocal reviews. I regretted it. Thanks guys! The salads looked boring and most of the food just looked unappetizing. It was a buffet though, so I still ate a lot! Service was pretty good. I’ve been to other casino buffets where service has been subpar, but they were friendly and on point here. Ambience was no bad at all! Generally clean and an updated look. Will we be going back? Likely not. If we get a free meal at the buffet we just MAY go but to pay for this buffet is not something in our future.

Great dessert bar — really got into the hot chocolate mess! Nice flavorful hot food items on the buffet — excellent salad bar! Steer away from the ethnic(Mexican and Asian) foods. Fried chicken is really nice– has wonderful flavor and crunch, the fried cat fish was also seasoned very well and very tasty.

I had a buy one get one so we went on a Saturday night. Hopes were far from high since casino buffet. It was about as expected: kind of depressing, but no food poisoning so it’s got that going for it. Weirdly enough the pizza was one of the best things on the buffet, which says a lot. I had a bunch of peel and eat shrimp with extra lemon and horseradish in the cocktail sauce(points for offering those additions). They were fine, nothing special. They had crab legs, but they were Asian«salt and pepper» style, which really just meant soaking in a dark brown flavorless liquid that turned the meat gray. Not appetizing. All fish dishes were way overcooked as expected. Prime rib was ok, but steak«made to order» was so paper thin that there’s no way they could be cooked less than shoe leather. Baked chicken was stringy and dry, even the dark meat. Salad was iceberg from a bag with a bit of wilt, plus a small veg selection that looked half frozen. Udon noodles were pleasantly al dente but clumped together and super salty. Garlic toast was stale, bread pudding mushy, piña colada cake bland… You get the idea. The best thing I ate was the orange pot de crème from the desserts. Full of vanilla bean and refreshing and light. They get one star for that, and one star because we still left full to get our moneys worth, I guess. Sad panda. FORTHELOVEOFGOD, go to RuYi, the Asian restaurant in the casino that actually has pretty tasty stuff instead.

Friday Evenings are the only time I think your money is worth! The crab legs are perfect eating size! Prime rib is delicious! Perfect cuts! Variety of other ethic entrees, which I thought could use a little more authenticity, besides the American section! But, always walk out full and satisfied! Get there before 7pm! Otherwise, you’ll be starving in line! Def back on Fridays

First time I have ever tried the buffet, though I go to the casino at least twenty times or more a year. I came for an early lunch about 11:00AM on Saturday, 7÷20÷13. For $ 12.00, this is not a bad AYCE buffet. It wasn’t busy. The location is very clean looking and it is a huge room. Nice spaces between tables. Linen napkins are a nice touch. Hostesses are assigned to your table and they keep their eye on you, refill your coffee, take your plates, check on you… very nice. There are quite a few food«stations,» including but not limited to(from memory) Mexican, Asian, Mediterranean, a salad bar and a dessert station(and one or two other stations I can’t remember). Everything looked tasty, but my first go-around I «built» myself my own version of a Caesar salad(my favorite dinner salad). They actually had a set-up for Caesar salad, including Romaine, grated Parmesan, croutons, whole anchovies and the dressing, all in separate serve-yourself dishes. Impressive. I tried their Panko Fried Shrimp because it looked really good. It WAS really good. I honestly could have made a meal out of the salad and shrimp, but I really wanted to try the items I saw at the Asian station, so I left room. At the Asian station, I built a make-your-own lettuce wrap: sitting on ice, they had head lettuce leaves ready to go; put one on my plate and filled it with minced pork that was very good. I also tried a diced steak dish, fried rice and Asian style green beans, all very good. As I was winding down, a gentleman who I subsequently learned was the manager of the buffet named Dave, came over to my table to inquire if I found everything to my satisfaction and if I needed anything or had any questions. Wow. Now that’s a professional touch that I never would have expected at the Potawatomi Casino. I will definitely be coming back here for more meals.

Overall, it was OK. The good: The from-scratch fish tacos and the prime rib were both great. A couple of the desserts, the éclair tart and the raspberry tart cake, were highlights, and I had more than one of each. The bad: The range of food seemed limited, especially for a shrimp and steak night(Fridays). The quality of some of the food was not good, as it seemed like it had been sitting out for a while.(We went early, around 5:30 p.m.) As others have mentioned, we had to pay a 15% gratuity up front for our large party. It was a bit surprising considering how empty the place was, but the servers did well to give us refills and clear our tables of used plates, so it was good, quick service.

GROSS! This place was EXPENSIVE($ 22) and really, really bad food. Save your dough and just go into a bathroom stall and eat what you might find in there. Guaranteed to be tastier…

If you’re eating at Potawatomi then skip the buffet and get the Blackjack Burger from the Fire Pit Sports Bar.

We ate here on Mother’s Day. We were a party of 8. The first thing we were informed was that because there were 8 of us, there would be an automatic 15% gratuity applied. WTF? This is a buffet for crissakes. We said we weren’t looking for a table for 8, just wanted to sit at tables next to each other. There were plenty of empty tables. Nope … if we even wanted to sit close there was the automatic gratuity. Even after talking to the manager, same verdict, so being with a group of stubborn people, we sat at separate tables with strangers between us. The irony is that our group are big tippers. It wasn’t the money, it was being forced to pay a set amount just to sit at a table. Anyhow, the food is pretty average. The shrimp and oysters were good and the prime rib was ok. The rest was pretty typical buffet fare. To me the desserts were way too icky sweet. Of course, the room was permeated with the lingering smell of cigarette smoke. Obviously Mom and I will not be back. I can’t speak for the others, but I’d be surprised if they returned either.

Not usually a buffet fan, but a friend told me to go for the seafood. I think we went on the incorrect night, as Potawatomi decided to change the day. But there was still other seafoods, just not crab legs. Different types of food are sectioned slightly apart, everything had the appearance of looking good… lots of stuff was just typical buffet food… overcooked, sitting out too long to taste good anymore. The peel and eat shrimp was good, at least you can’t over cook that since it’s served chilled. And the Prime Rib was the BEST thing available, rather good. Price was about the same if I went to a sit down and got a steak, however. I really wouldn’t want to go back.

I’ve given The Buffet two strikes at delivering on a good meal but like Kenny Powers says«You’re F#c*ing Out!». PRE: Wait in line behind hard of hearing senior citizens trying to use their players cards for payment. PROS: There’s plenty of spacious seating that cuts down on the«ass-in-face» ratio(people standing while you’re sitting eating). The employees are friendly. Actually, the buffet employees are friendlier than the casino dealers. CONS: Most of the food tastes like leftovers from a catered corporate picnic. A corporate picnic catered by ALDIS. When the tastiest option is cheese pizza, this is a bad sign. Most food is fried or crusted over with stale cigarette casino air. MISSING: I think Potawatomi is missing a HUGE opportunity to pull people into the casino that otherwise wouldn’t gamble if they had a quality buffet.

I went for the lunch buffet, I hadn’t ate all day in antisapation of eatting here for the first time. There are differant sections for each type of ethnic food. There was American, Asian, Mediteranian, Latin, and then a salad and a desset section. The American cuisine was pretty good, fried chicken was crispy and moist but I added a side of bbq for the chik. I think it was too bitter I tried it once but never again. The potato wedges weren’t anything to write home about but the mac and cheese was nice and cheesy, yum! Next was the Asian, this was my fav. They had a vegtable stir fry, the veggies were so fresh and not too soft. The garlic chicken too was really good, the garlic wasn’t over bearing and the veggies weren’t cooked to mush. Spring rolls were awesome, I love the fresh veggies and the roll wasn’t greasy which was nice. I also had breaded butterflied shrimp, I couldn’t get enough of them! The outside was crispy but the shrimp were soft not rubbery and the cocktail sauce complimented the shrimp wonderfully. Yummm! The Mediteranian wasn’t so hot. They served roasted potato wedged that were sweet, if I didn’t know any better I would of thought they were sweet potatoes and they were oily. I tried their roasted zuchinni with squash this was bland and disappointing. There was a few selections of pizza that looked okay but I passed. Next was Latin, this was the biggest disappointment because I am a huge fan of mexican food. There was beef enchiladas but the sauce was so over whelming you couldn’t taste the tortilla or the beef and my guess is that the sauce is not made from scratch. I made myself a tostada, the beef was greasy, and the onion was cut too largely. Their guacamole is sad and anyone that knows good guac would be appauled. I coulnt Believe a place of this statuet would even consider serving guacamole undeniably from a container premixed to their customers. What, do they think we’re fools?! Well not me! The salad bar seemed fresh but since I didn’t go there planning to fill up on lettuce I had skipped over it. Although I did try a cold pasta salad that was delicous! It had bow tie pasta, whole black olives, halved grape tomatoes, cubed chunks of feta cheese all combined in there italian dressing. And of course my last stop was the dessert section. There was a large selection, their best dessert was the cheesecake mmmmm I’m almost drooling just thinking of it! I had also tried coconut cream pie which was really good as long as you love coconut like I do. I tried the tiramisu too and well ya know that has a dfferant kinda taste all together, I enjoyed the mild coffee flavor and the light fluffy texture of the cake. Yeah ya know not all of it was cracked up to be what I thought it would be but what in life really is? Over all it was a pretty good experience, the restaurant was clean, the waitress never left a dirty plate on our table longer then a minute and she kept us with a never ending supply of diet soda… hey I had to cut calories some where!!! :)

Certainly not the worst, But STILL not the best. There’s an array of many foods. The shrimp is rather delicious. But as for a few of the other items, A pass or fail. The salad bar ain’t bad. The dessert bar is pretty enticing too.

Good day to hit the casino for The Buffet. It was rainy, windy and cold plenty of others were there after 1:00. Good variety of stations, Mediterranean, Latin, Asian, American, salad, and desert. Each station has soups. Salad bar is so so. Pizza, fries are great if timed just right. Mexican taco bar– blah. Carver station had pork roast that was surprisingly tender and juicy. Mashed potato’s, fried chicken, fish and shrimp, bread rolls were good as well. Service Was attentive for clearing and drinks(Pepsi products). The chairs were comfy. Entrée plates were plenty hot. Unfortunately the salad plates were warm too. The BAD a single hand sanitizing station at the entry was broken and a temporary was taped to the wall? Other items to avoid the Italian meatball, Chicken pad thai, crostini, taco ground beef. Stuffing was too mushy for my taste. Surprising to me a person at the next table had a huge serving with turkey. Overall the quality of the food is dependent on personal taste and stand time.

If you are looking for a great buffet selection, at a reasonable price, the buffet at Potawatomi Casino is not advised. We arrived on a Friday night to find a bustling, busy casino. After a little searching, we located the buffet near the center of the building and got in line. We waited a good 45 min to pay for dinner, and finally get seated. At cost of nearly $ 25.00 per person for dinner, we figured this would be one hell of a buffet. I can’t begin to tell you how wrong we were. To begin with, the buffet offers a very small selection of food. Most of dishes are fatty, deep fried, heat attacks on platter. Seriously, the food is comparable to what you would find in a high school cafeteria-but worse! None of fish nor meats seemed fresh, and everything looked as if it were kept under a heat lamp for hours. For $ 25.00 a person at a buffet, I expected more than fried chicken, fried shrimp and fried fried everything. The food is so dry, it took several glasses of water just swallow. We also discovered that finding a clean plate is a difficult task. There are plate trays sprinkled around the dining room, however; you won’t find any plates. If you do happen to find a plate, be careful not to burn your hand. The desserts were also very nasty. I’m not into hard cake, stale cookies, nor brittle pastries. The cheesecake was starting to go bad from being under the extreme heat lamps. Also the seating is awful. Our table was right in the crosswalk of hungry buffet goers. Service at the buffet is decent. The servers and waitstaff really do try to provide hospitality. Unfortunately, good service is not enough to keep me coming back. I’m sorry, but we are not fans of the buffet at this casino and won’t be back ever again.

For $ 12.99 on Tuesdays or with your Firekeeper’s Club Card(free to register) you can experience the awesomeness that is the casino’s buffet. It’s not much more expensive than eating at the other restaurants or ordering a la carte from the cafeteria. You have more choices and don’t have to worry about walking away hungry. My friend’s husband is extremely picky and he was able to find not only his beloved pepperoni and cheese pizza, but also fried chicken, turkey and a chocolate chip cookie. I went crazy and tried a little bit of everything — American, Mediterranean, Asian, Latin. Well, I didn’t eat any salad. As another customer put it, «Forget the salad. Let’s get some food.» You’re going to find a salad bar, unlimited beverages from plain iced tea to coke products, various pastas, fish, mussels, meats, rice and just about anything else you could dream up. The dessert area is equally as impressive. We came around 11am, before we left at noon for Bingo. We didn’t eat again until 7:30pm.
