Samantha Hewitt was such an amazing help and I found a beautiful one-of-a-kind dress. So happy with my experience there!

I’ll start off by saying that I did buy my wedding dress here. But I warn all brides that you may not take photos of anything that you try on here. This was disappointing as I would have liked to take more time to make my decision and it would be helpful to have photos of the dresses that I was deciding on. I came back for a dress fitting in a rainy, November morning(40 degrees outside). We had a 10 am appointment but we arrived 10 minutes early as we allowed extra time in our hour drive to get there in time. The door was open so we let ourselves in. As we’re waiting around for some help, an associate came to tell us they were in a meeting, the door should not have been left open and we need to leave. We said we had an appt. in 10 minutes and asked if we could wait inside since it’s so cold and rainy. She kicked us out anyways and locked the door. If I did not already buy my dress here I would have walked away. Me, my mother, and 93 year old grandmother were appalled. !!!If you’re looking for customer service, go elsewhere!!!

I went to Henri’s this weekend in search of my wedding dress. I was not expecting very good customer service when I walked in because I read a few of the reviews on here and they all stated that they had VERYPOOR customer service. I however, was pleasantly surprised. We(My Maid of Honor) and I were greeted warmly by two gentlemen when we walked in. When we told them we were there for wedding dresses, they snagged a girl who was walking by and had her escort us upstairs. Once upstairs, we were surrounded with tons of beautiful dresses. Their selection was huge. A friend had recommended that I give them a shot because I am a plus sized bride and they said that Henri’s has alot of plus size dresses that you can actually TRYON. Most of the other stores that I’ve been to only had 2 or 3 plus size dresses in their store. We were assigned a consultant by the name of Debbie, who was pretty fantastic. She was super nice and helpful and she listened to my concerns about finding a plus sized dress. She proved my original recommendation right by bringing me at least 8 plus sized dresses to try on. And they were all BEAUTIFUL! I did not actually purchase my dress from Henri’s but I wanted to give a review because I was rather impressed with the place. The few negatives that I do have are as follows: 1. I didn’t like how you had to go upstairs for the bridal department. It is not handicap accessible at all. Because the shop is located in an old building in Downtown Minerva, the upper level floors were all uneven and kind of played tricks on you. I tripped many times(I’m also a huge klutz). 2. I wish their dressing rooms were larger. When trying on dresses, you’re crammed in an itty bitty 6X4 room with a curtain instead of a door. There are no mirrors in the rooms. Instead you have to walk out into a common room and stand in a mirror in front of others. They did however, do their best to give me an area where no one else was trying on dresses, but on a busy day, this could be a problem. 3. The did not have the appropriate size undergarment for me to try on with my dress. I made do, but it was kind of a pain in the neck trying to keep my «Girls» from flashing everyone that was helping me get in and out of my dress. If they sell plus sized dresses, why don’t they have plus sized undergarments to go along with them? 4. While we were there, there was another bride trying on dresses who was obviously upset. We over heard the consultant say to her, «well honestly, you should have ordered this dress 3 weeks ago!» and at that the poor girl was in tears. While, I’m glad that my consultant was so awesome, I’m even more glad that I didn’t get stuck with that lady! I felt terrible for the girl and it really put a bad taste in my mouth about the place in general. We told our consultant what happened and she agreed that she should not have said that to her. I hope this issue was addressed after we left. All in all though, I thought Henri’s was a great option for wedding dress shopping. I can not say how they handle their customers after a dress was purchased though, and you need to be careful about which consultant you get!

I always hear people say this place is pricy, but I disagree. I tried on several dresses, and all of them were in the $ 500-$ 900 range. In my opinion, that’s not bad for a wedding dress. I also had great service from Julia and another woman(may have been Anna, but I cant remember for sure) while I was there. Based on my experience the day I went to Henri’s, I’d give it a 4, but the service since then has been a major disappointment. First off, I was shocked that they don’t do alterations. Luckily, Julia was nice enough to tell me she would setup something for someone she knows to come in when I pick up my dress to do all the measurements and alterations. It’s a far way from Kent, but the price she gave me for everything to be done was worth it. Unfortunately it didn’t pan out this way because when I called to see if my dress was in yet, she told me it was, but she acted as if we never had a conversation about alterations before and kept saying I was confused, because they don’t do alterations there! She even told me not to say«fitting» because they don’t have them there. Secondly, Julia wasn’t even there when I went in for our«inspection» appointment. I was fine with whomever was working, but I thought it was odd. Third, my dress had a long piece of string hanging from the front(about 3 inches long). The girl working said she would take care of it, yet it was still there when I got home. I was scared some beading would come undone if I messed with it, so I waited until I took it to Valentino’s in Stow to have it fixed. Fourth, my dress was so big on me everywhere that I find it hard to believe I shouldn’t have been ordered at least a size smaller. Also, I’m wondering why no one ever called to tell me my dress was in. I called a month before my wedding(which is this Saturday) when I was told that it was in, and I could come in for an inspection. I got a letter in the mail when my veil came in, but no call or email for that either. Finally, they do not allow wedding dress inspections/pickups on Saturdays because they are«too busy,» so you have to go on a weeknight. When you live an hour away and work ’til 5pm M-F, this is very inconvenient. All in all, I would not recommend this place when shopping for a wedding gown.

When you first walk in the door you wonder to yourself, «is this a Halloween shop or a bridal shop» eventually a shop clerk will glance over and without asking say, «you are probably looking for the upstairs» Upstairs is a selection of somewhat pricey dresses and shop girls who will not acknowledge you until you approach them. My main issue was the after-the-purchase service. I was actually just assisting a friend who was buying a dress. So. After my friend spent over 1,100 on her dress, we went across the street for a quick bite before hitting the road on an hour and a half journey back to Akron. Sadly, I left my keys there. Knowing that Henri’s delivers we called the café and asked them to bring the keys to Henri’s. They said they would be happy to and did so. At that point, the the Henri’s staff became super unhelpful to the point of RIDICULOUS. First, they claimed to not have received them from the café. This was untrue. They just didn’t care to look or check. For the next three days my keys were«lost» and they accused the café of not delivering them. I was passed from one unhelpful shop clerk(Anna) to another(Julia) who must have degrees in Buck Passing. In fact, Anna promised me she would return my call on more than one occasion and simply didn’t. Finally she landed on a great excuse. She claimed that it is not«company policy» to return lost items. And, I was told that I would have to pay for shipping if I wanted the keys returned to me. So I sent an email with a UPS label attached and they(Anna) STILL did not send my keys. Five days later, I found out that the keys had been sent to the bridal department(by Anna– rather then PUTTINGTHEMINTHEMAIL???). Julia reminded me that it was technically not her job to handle shipping — no kidding. Thankfully, the woman at the café(Tracy– bless her heart) who I had called in order to find out who the keys had been given to at Henri’s, said that she would be happy to retrieve them back from Henri’s and ship them to me herself. I called back to the useless waste of space Julia and she said that she would give them to the person I indicated. I said her name was«Tracy», then she asked for her last name which I did not know. She said she needed to have it in order to give the keys to her. Are you kidding me??? THISPLACESUCKS JULIASUCKS ANNASUCKS BTW– Anna answers the phone by saying, «how may I give you excellent service?» Anna also refused to let me speak with a manager. Why? Conclusion: Do not waste your time with this shop. They have zero customer service skills and treat people with an enormous amount of disrespect. Your money is better spent anywhere else.
