This place always makes me laugh! Now, I think I am pretty funny, but never would i get up on stage and try to entertain a crowd that paid to see a show! So, I always take that into consideration when attending a comedy show. This shit is hard, even if you are funny! I’ve come here to see comics I love. I’ve come here with no idea of who is going to preform or whether they will be funny. I’ve also come here to see a friend attempt amateur night after losing a bet. Come early and have a drink at the bar and/or the restaurant to loosen up. Then be prepared to drink wildly concocted cocktails, delivered by a server during the show. Typically, there are at least 3 – 4 comedy acts. The last should be the funniest, as they are the headliner. It is my experience that the local MC is pretty funny as well. Most of the weekend performance have an early show and a late show. The late shows tend to be more fun with raunchier jokes and cursing! ***Birthday bonus: Bring you and 5 friends to a show during the week for free the month of your birthday(if you join their email club)! Also, ametuer nights are free, so get there early!

This is one of my favorite spots in Minneapolis. Been there twice, great experience both times. Brandi has opened both times, and she’s got a great dry-humor set. I definitely recommend doing the dinner before the show, purely to have better seats. Long Island Ice Teas are delicious.

Very inviting atmosphere. Drinks are pricey, but a Free Open Mic Night, is well worth it All. Met some great people, drank some good brew, had Great Laughs

Laughing is like, really really fun. I do a lot of it at Acme, so I’m totally a fan. I’ve seen a couple weekend shows here recently, and I had a blast. One thing that I love about Acme is that it is a small, intimate venue. There are not a ton of seats, so you will always be pretty close to the stage. However, I wish the seating was tiered a little, because I am short and always the one craning my neck trying to see past normal-height humans. Ugh, but that’s my daily struggle. Useful info: It’s $ 18 per show, and assigned seating. However, military and student ID’s get you $ 5 tickets! There is paid parking across the street, but I have been able to find street spots(free in the evening). The shows that start at 10:30pm usually get out around midnight. Drinks at the bar are about $ 8 – 10 for signature cocktails, and rail/well shots are $ 4.50. The comedians I’ve seen have been pretty cool and will hang out with people after the show.

The food in Sticks Restaurant has always been above average, with the waiters being well trained and focused on pleasing guests. Comedians are usually good too. I will have to admit that the older comedian last week came across more like«stale toast» and was really not very funny at all. Regarding him, he might consider retiring and allowing people who have something to offer perform.

I always have a good time here. We came because it was my friends birthday and with their Birthday Blast program, you get 4 free tickets during the month of your birthday. How great is that? It’s awesome. We got there early and enjoyed a few beers at the bar, but don’t forget they also have a restaurant. There weren’t too many people there on a Wednesday night(and it was quite rainy) so we were seated quite close to the stage and had a great view. The comedians were good. The wait staff was good. There’s nothing bad I can really say about Acme. I always enjoy myself. My friends and I always have a good time. TLDR: check it out!

I can hands down say that any night I’ve spent at Acme has been one of the best out in the twin cities. Nothing brings people together like laughing until you cry. I’ve seen a wide variety of comedians, although still somewhat lacking in diversity, they have been witty, spot on and I appreciate that they aren’t typically disgusting. Drinks are expensive but enormous so if you’re ok spending $ 12 for a pitcher of a cocktail, then no problem! It seems the bartenders have been there for a while, recognize similar faces over the years and the staff are really nice and seem to like their jobs which goes a long way! This is a perfect spot for birthday parties, bachelor/ette parties or people like me that recently had a baby, need a night out with the spouse and both are too tired to talk but want to laugh. The 8pm show is perfect for parents that need to be home to relive babysitters before too late.

My husband and I went to the late show at Acme last night. We had a blast! Three comedians were showcased, and as is typical, the best went last. This was a perfect way to spend the evening. The theater is small and cozy, and was completely full. It’s good to see so many people come out to support these comics and Acme. Reasonably priced at $ 20/per person. Parking is ample and reasonable at $ 5. Drink service was excellent throughout the show.

We ended up going here since we didn’t have any plans on a Friday night. We called an hour before a show and got some tickets in the back. We came here with low expectations but ended up laughing for the majority of the time. The headliner was Pete Lee and I’m pretty sure the whole audience thought he was funny from all of the laughing. The ushers bringing us to the seats were friendly, the waitresses were nice, and the whole atmosphere was great. I’m glad I found this place because I will be back!

Birthday Club! Ok, honestly, even with FREETICKETS, I went in with low expectations. But after a few years of fun nights out I am a FAN of Acme and I think you should go too! Unless you hate laughing. Or get horribly uncomfortable during a bad set. You don’t have to get tipsy, but the list of cocktails is strong.

I’m a fan! Free birthday tickets, $ 5 for students, comedy open mic night on Mondays, a restaurant connected to the club, and a killer post-show happy hour where you get to rub elbows with this city’s finest and funniest. What more could you ask for?! :) Their website… wtf…you can’t find an address on their site ANYWHERE. Yes, I can use google maps, but when I’m at your site, I want the info to be right there. The directions page says things like«We are about 7 blocks down on the right» and other vague nonsense. Put an address up there, friends!

I don’t remember who was the main comedian when we went there, but guy was not funny. He was quite old and seemed like a generation gap, most of the people were not enjoying the performance; but that’s not the reflection of the club so i am not going to give negative points based on that. I like they had some competition going as well so all candidates were doing gig for 5 minutes so we get to see lot of variety. Another good thing is you can take your drinks inside, which you bought from their bar. They also serve the drinks inside. Tickets were not that expensive either.

I came here to see Tom Segura. I got the belly busting laughs I came for! This place is a little tucked away, you’re going down below street level to get to it, so prepare for no cell phone service. Good news is parking is easy. There’s a large lot across the street for $ 5 parking, there’s also street parking. Once in the building you have the line and restrooms to your right, and a decent size bar to your left. If you make reservations, which is what you should do, you should get there 30 minutes prior to pick up tickets. Otherwise you can get on the wait list and hope people don’t show up. Tickets prices are affordable, about $ 15-$ 18 for just the show, $ 30 to include dinner. If you get the dinner package, you’re usually seated right in the front. Your tickets will have your seat numbers on them. For large groups you need to all be there and pay at once! I got stuck behind a group of 19 bachelorette party girls and 4 still didn’t show up to pay. We ended up waiting along with everyone else for them to arrive since they could not stop the transaction. The cashier really should have told them quickly that they should cover it and have the late arrivals pay them back. We grabbed drinks at the bar, it was fast and friendly service. Once seated in the theater area, service was also awesome. We had someone show us our seats and the server was there right away to take our orders. Their specialty drinks were pretty good and comes in a cute carafe, so try one of those. The show was just what I needed. I laughed loudly and may have snorted accidentally, but I did not care. I highly recommend seeing Tom Segura if he’s in town. You can tell he doesn’t just go off a script the whole time. He picks on the audience. I had the pleasure of being one of those people. This venue was nice and clean, but sort of dark in the bar/waiting areas. I didn’t like that the restrooms were super dirty. The woman’s had toilet paper all over the stalls(and it was 1-ply), hand towels everywhere, and the soap dispenser looked disgusting. I get that they have a large number of people going before and after the show, but they should really have people cleaning more often then. All in all, I’d come here again, but the comedian is probably the person that’s going to make your night. The venue is alright.

The food at this place is simply fantastic. Ordered a crab cake(because I have issues and need to eat them) it was one of best I’ve eaten. Also ordered braised short ribs. Awesome! Please make a dinner and a show of this place. You will not be upset. Take a date here. The food and atmosphere is really magnificent.

The food is way below average, do not eat here with so many great places around. If you do eat here get the mushroom ravioli. The comedy is fun, it is odd and quirky.

It’s easy to reserve tickets for a comedy show by calling, and there’s no extra charge for ticket handling. Getting there early as we did, we found a free parking spot on street within relative close distance. We found ourselves a table in the room off the main bar area trying to get away from the loud sound and coolness of the air ventilation ducts. Sitting in back may have reduced that sound a bit, but brought into plain view how *filthy* their air ventilation filter was. I would guess that their system is working overtime(literally«gasping» for air) given the amount of grime covering the filter we saw. Our server in the bar area was pleasant and efficient. Once inside the gallery for the show, our seats were good, but our server never brought around the glass of wine my friend ordered. After quite a long wait, he got up to go talk to a server or someone at the bar, and was later told that the bar lost«his ticket»; therefore, they charged only $ 3 for that glass of wine. A nice gesture.

ACME has made me cry at least three times now. From laughter. I have visited this comedy club numerous times, and can say that I have always been in stitches. Monday nights are open mic night. The show starts at 7:30 and last 2 hours. A perk? It’s free. The best part? It’s funny. They have a large group of individuals participate in open mic, and only a handful are so-so. I still give them props for having the courage to stand in front of an audience and try to make them laugh. Don’t forget, it’s free. If you’re going to complain because three people didn’t make you roll in laughter, you need to grab a drink and calm down. I recently went on a Tuesday to a regular show for girls night. Tip for recent graduates or current students: bring your student ID and most shows are $ 5. My girlfriends and I all agreed that our stomachs hurt afterwards from laughing so hard. Definitely go to ACME for a fun outing, date night, or just to get some of nature’s best medicine.

Open mic night on Mondays is such a cool concept for a comedy club. And it is a free 2 hour show every Monday night starting at 7:30. There is plenty of street parking near the club but there is also a paid lot across the street($ 5 all night after 6PM). Acme also has a restaurant/bar inside the same building. The menu has Italian and traditional American food. The auditorium has about 60 – 70 seats and smartly designed tables for every few seats. Drinks can be ordered from within the seating area before and during the show. Carafe drinks are priced well and the bar has many options for their patrons. The comedians have to register at 6PM on an open mic night. Each gets a few minutes time on the stage to tickle your funny bone. Out of the 30+ comedians on stage the night I was there with my friends, I would say 25 of them had really good material. It is a very hard job to make some random strangers laugh within a few minutes. Even some of the biggest comedians in stand up comedy’s history had to struggle to find the right balance and jokes that could appeal to the masses. I thoroughly enjoyed my free night out at a comedy club with some really good laughs. I would go back every Monday night, if I could.
