After terrible service at a neighboring restaurant, we were on the hunt for a drink and a snack. We walked in here and were seated and approached immediately. We chose a beer and a glass of wine off the menu and had our drinks within minutes. Awesome start! Joe ordered the gyro special, which he said was quite good. I got the cheese plate and asked for some oil/parmesan to dip the crusty bread in. The cheeses weren’t as unique as I’d hoped they’d be, but they were still delicious. She kept an eye on us and kept us refilled, which kept us happy :)

Tonight was my first and last visit. Lovely space and the soups my friend and I had were good, but I have never felt so unwelcome at a restaurant! We arrived by 9:15; our server wasn’t particularly pleasant and seemed like she would rather be elsewhere… maybe she was having a bad night, or maybe she just dislikes working in the service industry, but end result was a less than stellar customer service experience. She brought our food and wine and I can’t say she was rude, but was definitely disinterested in us as customers. Though we weren’t aware the place closed at 11:30 on Fridays, we certainly became aware prior to that time. She and a gentleman employee were closing out the areas around us, running the dishwasher, slopping the mop around the bar floor directly across from us, blowing out the candle/s etc. The most obvious sign of our prompt to call it a night may have been when our server, who now was the only employee we saw in the front, walked up with her coat on and carrying her things as she was basically waiting for us to leave…5 minutes before closing time. We were not the type of customers who needed much attention at all, nor were we lingering past closing… we were in our cars by closing time, which seemed to be about 20 minutes later than the remaining two employees would have liked. We made a comment on our way out apologizing for holding them up, to which our server” jokingly” responded about never coming back. it felt as though they couldn’t get us out of there fast enough… unless we were willing to lock up the place ourselves. I get it… I work in customer service and closing on a weekend can be a drag, but if you can’t make even a basic effort to make your customers feel welcome and basically shoo them out the door, you may be in the wrong line of work. Truly, an unpleasant experience.

I stopped here for a glass of wine with a couple of girlfriends one weekday evening. The space was dimly lit and cozy. We ordered some wine and some small appetizers. The wine was good, not fantastic, but good. The food came out very quickly and was attractively presented. The waitress was kind but was obviously trying to get customers out the door(including us) as they were close to closing time. It is a cute place to grab some quick and inexpensive food and a glass of wine when you don’t feel like cooking.

Thank you, Beaujo’s for another wonderful night. Tonight was my birthday dinner with my 3 best girl friends. I have been to Beaujo’s many times but I wanted to take a minute to acknowledge just hows special this place is to me. I have always had excellent service, food and wine. Tonight was no exception. We had two waiters helping us out tonight. Both were patient, helpful, and generous. The people that work at Beaujo’s are so friendly and inviting. Our meal started with the breads and spreads(yum!) appetizer — a perfect portion for sharing. For our entrees we had two flatbreads and two salads. Portions were perfect, ingredients were fresh, and presentation was beautiful. We all left very satisfied. After two full hours devouring glasses of wine, eating our delicious meals, and catching up with friends, one of our waiters overheard that it was my birthday. Complimentary glasses of champagne were promptly brought to our table. This gesture touched me and is just one of the many reasons that Beaujo’s is one of my very favorite places in the twin cities. Comfortable, romantic atmosphere, awesome service, and great for the palate. What more could one ask? I can’t wait for my next visit.

Stopped in for a quick dessert and coffee. The apple pear crisp was delicious! Nice, cozy atmosphere with a friendly and courteous staff. We will be coming back!

Intimate, cozy setting with great food and drinks… I had my Birthday party here last year. Just intimate, close friends– about 10 people. We had the back room all to ourselves. Everyone had a mellow, good time & the staff was very accommodating. I love the artwork everywhere(including the bathroom) & the overall atmosphere.

I’ll give it 5 stars purely to acknowledge how nice it is to have a neighborhood joint that is not pretentious and has kept it simple. It’s where you want to come if you want good wine, light snacks, decent dessert and low noise for a romantic conversation. It’s very much on the warm and fuzzy side of things as bars go. A gem in SWMPLS.

You know what? I love it here. I’m a very specific kind of customer at this place. I like to sit at the bar, have a glass or two or three of one of my favorite wines(the Liberty School on the menu, for those wondering), sometimes have a meal, read a book, and generally be left alone. I don’t really appreciate staff checking in on me every ten minutes, because I’m freaking reading. This place gets that. I can have a nice chat when I arrive about what I’m reading this week while ordering, and then they leave me alone. If I need something, someone is always lurking around the bar within speaking distance. The food is good, they have my favorite wine, and you may have to bring the flourless chocolate cake to my grave as an offering for my ghost one day because(after)life without it once a week seems sad and unbearable. There seems to be a collection of us that come to sit at the bar, have a bit of a chat, and be left alone. None of us really talk to each other, and it’s basically perfect. The staff doesn’t get weird about me taking up space for up to(and probably one day exceeding) three hours at a time. That’s important when you’re deep into a book and just sipping on wine. This is my go-to reading spot when I want to pretend to be social(«I’m at a wine bar talking to people!» Lies.) and drink some wine. I guess I could come here with people, but nope. Nooope. Complaints: 0 Books Read: 3 Glasses of Wine: secret!

What a great place to go to drink a glass of wine and a cheese /fruit platter with a friend. The service is nice, they are attentive when needed but are not pushy. It was nice and quite on a Thursday later afternoon /early evening time and a perfect place to stop before heading for a quick shopping spree across the street. You are able to get a flight of wine which is always fun. The cheese platter was great, but it did come with blue cheese, unfortunately my friend was allergic so we just ate around it. It is a nice and cozy restaurant, it is a little on the higher end price wise, but i do enjoy the relaxed environment

With all of the new larger restaurants in the area, Beaujos is a gem in the 50th and France area. Cozy atmosphere, great wine list, and great food. The walleye entrée is my favorite. Can’t wait for my next visit.

I don’t like writing bad reviews, but this place won’t be here long… Soooo enough enough said. There’s other options that are better. Service lacks class. For a wine bar, super limited options… And not friendly or welcoming.

Waited for A LONG time to be greeted and checked on throughout the meal. Wasn’t even sure who the actual server was since we had to practically beg to get service. Food and wine were good, service was awful. Ugh

When I purchased my livingsocial deal for Beaujo’s, I was very excited. I love Edina, especially 50th and France. I was expecting a wider menu selection, even if they are focused on serving on what’s available seasonally. My friend’s salad was huge, though less expensive than my entrée, and had some leftover to take home. I felt a little short changed. Our waitress was only partial interested in checking on us.

Great atmosphere, service and great wine. What more could you possibly ask for? Don’t let the flight fool you, it’s a great way to get 3 glasses of wine at a great price We will be coming back, lots.

We used to come here fairly often but there has been a decided change in service. We agree with the other comments as service used to be wonderful but the new staff is much less concerned with the patrons. It’s too bad but we find ourselves coming much less often because the service has degraded so far. We are now trying to find different wine bars/bistros as this one is no longer as enjoyable as it was…

Not bad for a wine bar. I love the«flights» of either Red or White as it’s a 4oz try of what Wine they have featured. We did the Spain Reds, and discovered a new wine that we’ve never tried before. Small and quaint and worth it for a stop in.

This review is based on a takeout Bite Squad order. The menu looked attractive with some interesting riffs on usual items. The pan fried walleye, dredged in panko bread crumbs came with herb-roasted potatoes and seasonal vegetables: green beans. The fillet was large in size but oh so fishy! There were choices for ordering the walleye rare to well cooked and this was the well cooked version. For $ 16.75, the amount of herb roasted potatoes was very small. The grilled shrimp salad came with 6 cayenne grilled shrimp, mixed greens, avocado, papaya and an orange peel vinaigrette. This too was priced at $ 16.75 and the shrimp was wrapped in foil to keep them warm. Nice portion of mixed greens, skimpy on the avocados at this price but the overall combination, although interestingly different, did not come together as a whole. The shrimps disappointed, missing the grilled flavor. I’m willing to pay a higher price but either the portion size or the taste has to live up to that. Not confident enough to give this place a second try.

Went here on Saturday night with my boyfriend after dinner down the street. The place is cute and quaint. There were a few open tables so we were able to find a spot to sit, but many of the tables had reserved signs on them even though no one ever came to sit at them. The wine selection is decent and the server was knowledgeable about the wines. We took one of her recommendations, and we really enjoyed it. We did not order food so I can’t comment on the quality of the food. They get three stars because we also experienced bad service as many others have pointed out already. The server stopped by quickly to take our order and talk with us about their selection, but after pouring the first glass of wine from the bottle, we never saw her again. Another server came by quite a bit later to refill our water glasses, but never asked how we were or if we needed anything else. I found it very strange that it’s a wine bar, yet they never came by to refill our glasses from the bottle. It was that same server who eventually came to bring us the check. Shortly before 10pm they started putting up the chairs in the back room and at the table right next to us. We actually thought they were closing, but they weren’t so I’m not sure why they did that. It definitely gave us the hint to get out of there. We may go back, because the wine selection was good. I’ll just have to make sure it’s on a day when I have a lot of patience for bad service.

I’m sad to say that I had a very disappointing experience here all because of service. We came in on a Friday night around 8:30 with a group of 5. Given that it is a wine bar we were hoping to enjoy wine and some cocktails. After ordering a bottle of wine and two beers, no one came to check back in with us. We were hoping to order more and waited a LONG time before anyone even glanced over while walking by. At that point we were reluctant to stay so we asked for our check, were brought it immediately by an impatient and curt server. It’s unfortunate. I wonder if we had come here for food and drinks if the service would have been different.

Staff kept me company while waiting for my date, who never showed. Great place for lunch, dinner, or a few glasses of wine. You’ll find a friendly staff and a VERY clean restaurant. I also liked the open deli-like kitchen set-up.

On a Saturday afternoon, there were open seats at the bar and open tables towards to rear of the place. I liked their color selections and décor — «rustic» feeling. They had 4 or 5 beers on tap and plenty of wines to select from on their menu. The least expensive glass of wine on their menu was $ 7.50, and I think that’s a bit much. I ended up having a Stella Artois in the«proper glass».

One of my favorite spots to enjoy some wine and selection of small plates. If you get there early you can even get the great table by the windown(my favorite). Enjoy a wine and cheese tray combo. Have been visiting for years and have notice a lot of the same serving staff — always a good sign.
