I ordered chicken, cheesecake, and coffee for delivery. The delivery guy was great, on time, worked with me to make a difficult delivery, and the food was awesome. Especially the chicken and the coffee. Definitely recommend.

First time trying Café Royale and I’ve gotta say, I’m impressed! Had a Philly cheesesteak, wasn’t your average cheesesteak, certainly not a flavor you’d expect from it, but it was VERY delicious. Had excellent flavor, kind of a middle eastern twist on it, and it was on a pretzel roll. WIN! Also ordered Chicken Suqaar with rice. Now this dish here. Out of this world! Excellent blend of green peppers and onions pairing perfectly with the magnificently seasoned chicken, all on top of a bed of absolutely amazing Basmati Rice Pilaf. Seriously, this was just completely fantastic. Delivery time was not however. 1 and a half hours for delivery is WAY too long. I’m genuinely hoping that this was a one time thing, and if they get it right the next few times, i’ll happily upgrade this review to 5 stars. The food was honestly THAT good!

Went there recently because my husband and I wanted to try something. We usually go to Mediterranean places but this was one that we did not like. It tasted nothing like Mediterranean. Fries were soggy. Buns tasted not fresh. Most of all service was not welcoming.

Waited two hrs for food, no discount, bad customer service, if its going to take two hrs for food tell us that! Then we can take our buisness elsewhere or choose to wait all day this is my first time eating here terrible first impression wont be calling them again they have alot to learn on how to run a buisness

By far the worst experience ever ordered from this place waited around 2 hour I finally gave up and just cancelled the order. They showed up but I had already made arrangement to cancel never again will I try to order from here again.

Been here twice
So far I’ve had their wings, pasta, burger and somosa and all tasted really good.
Really impressed so far.
Will definitely be back.
Only advice I’d give them for now would be to maybe tidy up their kitchen or at least cover it in a way so people can’t see it. The back looked really messy so some picky eaters might avoid it.

This is my first and last time that I will eat there
Me and my wife we ordered to Philly steak sandwich in the one appetizer and the total is $ 40 including tax
The bread was really old. And we have a side order that was missing it was a bad experience that’s all I can say
But it could be it was and of the of the day that’s why I guess

Staying a few blocks away from restaurant and placed an order in for delivery about two hours ago. Called them three times and each time was a new excuse on why they aren’t here with my food yet. I know people make mistake and my order could have been forgotten but I value honesty in employees. Minneapolis doesn’t have much great food for delivery to begin with and supposedly this was the highest rated one — guess I expected better.

It’s been a bit hit or miss. Food is 4 stars, service is 3 ½. The food is good, and the delivery can be pretty quick, oftentimes within 25 – 30 minutes of ordering. Sambusa and mixed grill plate royaale have been good. But some things are inconsistent despite ordering the same thing each time. Serving sizes have been off, and sometimes the food is not as good as other times. After a bad experience, they offered to send me a free meal the next day. When I called the next day, no one knew what I was talking about and it took about an hour and 20 minutes to deliver once they made my order.
I enjoy the food here, but the service leaves something to be desired.

Let me lay it down:
1) they were out of half of their menu (including the mixed vegetables and rice)
2) no toilet paper in the women’s restroom… Anywhere
3) the place was pretty dirty. The floor was very sticky
As for the food. It wasn’t so bad. We ordered the chicken suqqar and it was well seasoned without being too salty.

We had the chicken suqaar with pasta and the BBQ chicken special with rice. Also had the watermelon drink and tea. It was all great. The chicken suqaar and rice is so flavorful and amazing. They give you enough rice for 12 people. It comes with a small salad.

This restaurant has the best somali food in all of Minneapolis. Excellent service and deserts. My family had the rice and chicken suqaar plate and rice with bbq chicken. It was so delicious especially with the green sauce. We tried the chocolate cake with ice cream, tirimasu, and coconut cake deserts. All were super tasty. I would definately recommend this place to anyone looking to try authentic African food along with excellent service.

I love eating here. I’m so happy they finally opened on in Minnesota. I use to always eat at the one in San Diego. The food still taste amazing. My favorite thing to eat is the grilled chicken wrap. It’s to die for. The seating will seat a large party. It’s a great place to bring family/​friends/​co-​workers.

I have been to this place 3 times now, two out of those times was seat-​in with my co-​workers. I have to say, I really love their Pasta, Rice federation with Tilapia… mmmm, boy was it delicious!!. The staff that was taking my order and serving was also very friendly, easy-​going people. The service was excellent, including the time it took, environment and off course – the meal – served hot and delicious. I already told some of my family members about this place and I plan on coming back!!!

I normaly don’t give reviews but, I had to do this one! This place is the most customer frendly somalian place you could go to! Workers are well trained on taking orders over the phone and getting the order ready as they promise. They don’t have customers waiting for a long time like other places. Food is nice and fresh. I have told all my friends about the new place and they love it. I will deffanetly be back here the next time I come to MN!

Wow — I was in MN and decided to stop by Café Royale, hoping for the same experience as that of the highly respected original SD location… I was once again blown away. The owners have managed to really uphold excellence in food quality, taste, ambiance, facility cleanliness, and overall customer service standards. Come here to have the best Somali and Mediterranean food ever… try their t-​bone, sweet n sour chicken, or goat meat… top that with tiramisu cake.
