The first time I came here the barista that helped me was super rude, so even though the coffee was really good, I didn’t return for almost an entire year. I came back on the recommendation of my stylist at The Fox Den next door. Boy am I glad I took her advice! I absolutely recommend the Maple Vanilla Cold Press. It’s to die for. So caffeinated, not for the faint of heart.

Great. Bathroom. Drank a cold press that changed my perspective. I had it in a cup like the sort from summer camp. The cream danced. I posted a video showing what you’re in for. One of a kind time.

Ok. I am a self diagnosed claustrophobic and avoided this coffee shop for such was my impression-small and packed. Then caffeine hunger and geography conspired and I dared to step in leaving the hustle and bustle of the city. Inside is a very welcoming space and a vibe of a different era– time flows slowly, brewing takes time and waiting takes time slowly. There’s a downstairs even. A keen listening yielded the sound of a ping pong match and it became my hobby. I looked down to my feet tapping to the beats of the ambient music, from a different era. There is more, the girls, who look like the profiles of a dating app designed to lure you into subscribing. They look smart, well dressed and polite. They must possess a device that transports them from point A to B without traversing the distance in between for they don’t appear elsewhere. One of them has to be my soul mate. If you are familiar with Louis cks bit about a barista who made the s out of my coffee, then agree this is where he was inspired to write it. One drawback though, the barista. He held a lot of love making my flaming mocha. There he was pouring passion into making drinks to those before me and when it was my turn suddenly time stopped flowing slowly and it was just another coffee shop. That ought to be enough for a 15 minutes experience.

This is a VERY unique place. The coffee was very strong and maybe a tad bitter, but it might be just what you need for the gray days we have had lately. It is definitely a dive coffee bar, but there is plenty of seating and a great kombucha! There is plenty of space to work – and judging by the number of people on computers I am guessing free wi-fi. Also guessing an art crowd since one person was studying Picasso and another was writing music. The music might be a bit loud if you were really trying to study or work without your own headphones, but it is a place I will go to again.

It’s a very unique place… you could think of it as artsy, vintage, or just a little run down. I’ve had better coffee that isn’t so bitter, but at the same time, I did appreciate the ceramic mugs that it was served in. The bakery items(we had coffee cake and the chocolate chocolate chip muffin) were tasty, but if they had been heated up for a couple of seconds mmm mmm mmm. They do have kombucha though, which you don’t find at too many coffee shops… the lemon rosemary was delish! If you find yourself with some time to spare, why not check out this place. If you need something to do, there’s a birdhouse take a book, leave a book library out in front. Even if I probably won’t be back in the near future, I won’t rule it out of my coffee shop inventory.

Great variety of coffee choices, laid back feel, helpful staff, and the best combo of customer demographic I found in a café while visiting Minneapolis. Extra points for: music, seating, wi-fi, gaming, Art, snacks, extended hours, and the well placed book box mini library out front. After having loitered about on a daily schedule, Cozying up to their wi-fi, I still felt welcomed as well as productive and enjoyed conversations with local friendly folks and travelers sitting outside, in the(cough)smoking area. My only reason for not giving Caffetto 5 stars is that people tend to smoke in the doorways which easily finds its way inside. Not being a tobacco smoker myself, it was rough being in that city. Cough, gasp, ect. But hey, that’s my prob. being the last non-smoking man on planet Earth without tattoos, who still reads actual books.

Their baristas are legit! I had the best iced mocha here and the barista took his sweet time making it. Hand stirring and stirring for at least 30 seconds. They didn’t put ice right away in the cup, it was after, because the espresso is the star. He placed milk in the cup, then mixed the espresso and chocolate, then pour ed it on the milk, then poured more milk on top and added the little ice needed and topped it off the legit whip cream. Very impressed. … My drink took 8min-10min to make, so don’t go here if you’re in a rush but it was definitely well worth it.

Cafetto’s charm lies in its eclectic crowd, unique décor, and tasty treats. The coffee is good, if not the best in the neighborhood. Perhaps the space is a bit dilapidated, but that’s part of the charm. They always display new at by local artists, something I enjoy. It could use with a bit more cleaning, but I never found its unkempt state anything but charming. They offer plenty of outlets inside, and there is space outside when the weather is accommodating. If you’re not in the mood to sip coffee and work, Caffetto has board games upstairs, plus pinball and ping pong downstairs. None of these activities ever seem to generate much noise to distract those looking for a quieter afternoon, either.

Love. Besides being the place you can take your family for a quick coffee-and-croissant breakfast(if that’s your thing), caffetto possesses the an atmosphere that encourages the building of real community within its walls, and outside on its patio tables. Never, at any other shop, have I ever felt comfortable or WELCOME to sit down and introduce myself to the local residents, who later became pleasant acquaintances because we all love caffetto. I also appreciate that they are accepting of people less fortunate, and don’t turn them away. This show of empathy hopefully teaches others the value of common kindness towards other humans. It certainly means a lot to me as an individual and encourages me to support them. Finally, their coffee, cold press, and especially their triple americanos are rich, well-made and delicious.

I like it here. The staff doesn’t kiss your ass, which is a refreshing change from a lot of places, but they’re polite and seem like cool people. If you’re looking for a super fancy place, this isn’t it, but it’s got a nice feel and I like their teas.

Cafetto Café has everything I could ask for in a neighborhood coffee shop and more. Enough character to write a novel, fair trade drip coffee, and both kombucha and cold press on tap. I made daily visits to Cafetto on my last trip to Minneapolis and to keep cost down only ordered drip coffee or kombucha, though next time I would like to try a cappuccino for the true coffee shop test. All around, I was impressed and will definitely visit again.

I don’t think I will come here again. I appreciate their eclectic musical tastes, their cheap prices, and the staff have always have been professional, however the wifi was spotty, the outlet I was using turned my laptop on and off, and the café was overheated. I understand that was just tonight, but over the years I’ve experienced similar disappointments there. I think it is an alright place there to meet and talk with friends, but definitely not a place to study or get independent work done.

I came here with my daughter today at about 2pm & there was a line of ppl & only one girl serving. We had a bit of a wait but when it was finally my turn I ordered a chocolate chip muffin, a lemon ginger poppyseed muffin, an Leninade, & a vanilla latte. I love my latte, and the weird lemon drink is alright. The two muffins… One was supposed to be chocolate chip but she gave us blueberry instead… And mine would be fabulous if it didn’t taste like it was already a week old. I would love to try this muffin when it’s fresh because even though it’s dry & hard it’s still got a wonderful flavor with a sharp bite of ginger against the sweet of the lemon. I just don’t want to have to pay full price for a very stale muffin no matter how good it is. Stale is stale & not worth full price. The atmosphere here is dark, old school bar turned into coffee place, hipster, loads of young students on their Mac laptops. Service wasn’t bad considering she’s the only one here working a busy long line… And the blueberry muffin isn’t that bad… It’s so stale though…

The coffee may be delicious but this space is dank, dark, and the bathroom looks like it came out of a horror movie. Good if you are looking for somewhere cheap to work the whole day, as they have lamp lighting on in the midday sun, or if you’re with a group and looking to simply looking to play some games. I ordered the clam chowder soup as well, which felt seruously scary to eat, as it was overfilled with potatoes and tasted grainy. Save this space for a day when you feel like compromising your standards.

The good: Decent cappuccino, open late, free WiFi, and plenty of plugs for your computer. Lots of tea and games. It’s a great place to stop to study or work. The bad: Dirty and full of really strange smells. I can’t even identify what it was, but it was pretty awful. Not much selection from the bakery counter. This place could be so charming with some TLC. It’s obvious someone loved it once, but it fell out of favor. I’d love to try them again if they clean up.

They allow dogs! This is a cute little hole in the wall type of café with reasonably priced coffee and drinks although I’m not a huge fan of the décor. It was a bit dank and dusty for my tastes. I do like however that they sell artwork from local artists. The bathroom is a bit far if you’re sitting on the main level; it’s downstairs in the basement and looks to be unisex. The stall itself looked like something coming out of a horror movie though and the hand towel was very worn. Overall, I’ll come here every now and then when I’m in the area but will most likely only get my drink to-go.

Girl friend and I just stopped by. She and her sister had always wanted to try it and while we were getting gas across the street, we strolled over to try it out. I had a two shot macchiato. Served with a dollop of foam on top, the espresso started with a VERY strong initial impression and then settled to an excellent nutty finish. Compliments to the barista in all aspects. The girlfriend got an iced chai which wasn’t too sweet and finished with a nice peppery after taste. I appreciate a fragrant and zippy chai. The shop overall was very dimly lit(on such a sunny afternoon) but was cool and comfortable. A few taps suggested I could grab a beer should I be in the mood for something a little stronger for the Friday afternoon. The ship theme was impressive. Some great art on the walls showed a unifying theme. Had I had more time to investigate, I would have loved to talk to some of the staff members and get to know more. I would recommend this shop to anyone close by and even as a destination if you are comfortable with a very«Up-Town-y» café. The treats looked appetizing and the crowd seemed satiated and comfortable. Definitely smoking friendly

Caffetto serves as a good reminder that it’s probably time to get my eyes checked. After walking into the back room from the sunny exterior, I was a bit stunned of how dimly lit the place was. I second Annie D and Jonathan T that this place isn’t exactly where you’d go to for a mind-blowing coffee shop experience, but I do like the fact that it opens until 1AM and its tea is A-OK. Add that to the quirky fact that you can have a ping-pong showdown in the midst of your cramming session makes it a pretty interesting place to be in.

If there are more places like this around the world, Unilocal should consider including a new category called«coffee dive bar.» Caffetto Café certainly has its charm –such as the free book exchange/library in the birdhouse outside and the pinball machines downstairs– that attracts all walks of life. I can definitely see why people hang out there. But when it comes down to rating a coffee shop, I must rate it mostly on its drinks… After tasting almost all of the options on the menu, Caffetto makes alright, but not great, coffee. Also, after visiting the other coffee shops in the area, I can’t seem to get past the fact that things look like they are going to fall apart inside. The rundown seats, floors, walls, and tables all make it difficult for me to even consider camping out there. I’m not saying that you shouldn’t visit Caffetto, but if you are in the area and need a cup of joe, I would consider other cafes on Lyndale.
