My boyfriend and I had a negative experience here. It didn’t look like such a bad place when we first came in. It’s a little run down looking, but we wanted to give it a chance, and there are places that don’t have a «polished» look, but you end up pleasantly surprised. The Crooked Pint Ale House was NOT a pleasant surprise unfortunately. The food was average at best, the service was TERRIBLE, and we decided that we were not going to return to this place after we left. It could just be this particular location, but we don’t think we will be revisiting. My boyfriend purchased the reuben sandwich with cheese curds and I got the beer cheese lucy with the tater tots. The quality of our food was mediocre. My boyfriend said the sauerkraut on his reuben tasted off, and that overall, he’s had better reubens elsewhere. He showed me the meat on his sandwich and part of it still looked raw, so it was undercooked. On top of that, the waitress did not give him his cheese curds. She gave him fries, and he didn’t want to complain about it so he let it be. It wasn’t a complicated order, but somehow, she had missed it. My lucy was okay. It was the first lucy I had ever had, so I was excited for it, but unfortunately, it wasn’t all that great. I have since had other juicy lucy’s and those were a lot better. Our waitress seemed to be in a bad mood, and we commented to one another on how she looked like didn’t want to be there. She did not refill our waters even though we had them sitting out. She was not attentive despite the fact that there were barely any customers in the place. She had no excuse for her poor service, and as a result of that, we reduced our tip. Overall review? Disappointed.

I was really excited to come here b/c I’ve driven past it so many times and thought to myself«That looks like a fun place.» I have never been more let down. Before we could even sit down and take our jackets off the waitress was already asking my GF and I for drinks, we hadn’t even looked over the menu and the place was dead, what’s the rush lady? We were meeting friends for Trivia night and waited until they arrived to order our food. Overall the food was pretty bad. You can tell that the go cheap on ingredients and that things aren’t fresh and that microwaves do most of the work in the kitchen. I ordered their steak medium rare with mushrooms on top — which was an extra $ 1, no biggie — I got a well done steak with onions instead :-(. My friend ordered us some Brussels sprouts as an app and that was by far and away the worst app I have ever had. The Brussels sprouts were whole, soggy, and tasted old. We were expecting them to be pan fried not leftovers that were microwaved two days later. Their drinks maybe good here but steer clear of the food, go to Subway next door instead.

We were in downtown Minneapolis the other night and we were feeling comfort food so we decided to give Crooked Pint Ale House a try. Parking is interesting to find and you will probably have to settle of paying, don’t park in the small lot right next to Caribou, they will tow you(as told by our friendly waitress). Kudos to the hostess who was rockin’ it last night. She has two entrances to watch, one in the back and one in the front, and she was doing a great job of keeping an eye on both and being quick and attentive. She also was helping bust tables and such, she was a rock star. Our waitress was very friendly and nice too. All of the staff seemed to be going out of their way to be friendly, fast, and courteous to all of the customers. The ambiance is typical pub with dark wood interior, Irish themed décor, and large wooden booths and tables. A nice, large bar is in the middle of this place and there are TVs scattered around for watching sports. Now on to the food and drink! Since I was going to eat most of my calories, I decided on just water but there was a nice extensive beer and wine list. We decided to try their Molasses Bourbon Wings for an appetizer, the Beer Cheese Lucy and PB and Bacon Lucy for dinner, and finally finish with a Warm Cookie Lucy Sundae(I told you I was getting in my calories from the food alone, don’t judge me!). The wings were good, but the portion size didn’t justify out to $ 11. Give me more wings if I’m dropping the same amount of money as I would for a full entrée. It’s supposed to be a teaser for both my stomach and wallet. The burgers were good. I don’t know if I would necessarily call them a true Lucy burger because they were not exactly«full» of stuff. Still they were tasty and oh man the beer cheese was good! They did skimp on the fries though; their portions sizes seem prudish here. Finally, the Cookie Lucy sundae. Yes it was tasty and full of fat inducing chemicals, but it kinda was a disappointment. First of all the cookie was burnt on top, really cooks? You can’t send that out to me with ice cream and whip cream on top and not notice that the cookie has been charred, make me a new one. Yet because of my Minnesota passive — aggressive attitude and not wanting to be a problem to our nice waitress, my wife and I sucked it up. The other thing that was disappointing was that we barely had any of the cream cheese filling in our cookie. I don’t think we even noticed the filling now that I think about it… it was still good, just not what the menu makes it seem to be. Final Verdict: Not a bad place. The hostess and wait staff were the shining star out of the whole thing, they were attentive, nice, and speedy. The food has potential, but the portion sizes are shrewd for the price and I can’t forgive the burnt cookie, I shouldn’t have to send it back, the cook should have known better than to serve me that in the first place. I will probably swing by if I’m off of Washington to give it another shot. What can I say? I’m a Minnesota-nice guy!

Lots of tv’s, including a giant screen with projector. Service was prompt, walleye sandwich was pretty good. Good beer selection too. Get the tots! They’re a little bigger than usual but have cheese and other stuff in them(onions and/or peppers maybe? Anyway, they’re awesome.

My experience here was great. Grace was my waitress for the first part of my night and she was very knowledgeable of all the beers on tap which impressed everyone in my group. After we were finished with dinner we went to the bar where Steph took care of us. She was also great and as soon as our beer was gone she was refilling our next beer. Top notch place that I will recommend to everyone who visits here.

A group of 5 of us went last night to see a really good band. I really like the feel and atmosphere, but the service is pretty lousy across the board. I’ve never been anywhere where servers and bartenders are so condescending and just lame. Music was excellent, and as much as I’d love to see the band again, I won’t go to this place to do it.

None of the 3 of us liked our food. Bad flavor, not cooked well. The service was never near or helpful even thought it was late and not busy. Not impressed. Won’t be back.

Just stopped in with the sisters waiting for the nephew to finish class. I had one of the best Arnold a Palmers ever(just the right balance) and sisters had Bloody Mary’s. we decided to try the home made tater tots and were not disappointed!

We wanted to sit in the lounge area and there was enough space but were rudely told that it was reserved(no signs) for another party. This was around five in the afternoon on a Saturday. That started me off on the wrong foot. They do have a decent selection of beers. I had seven other people at the table and we were able to find a beer that made everybody happy.

Showed up early and liked the vibe of the place. Great beer selection and nice TVs. Came with a larger group and we drank and ate appetizers before ordering dinner. An hour and and a half later our dinner arrived. Food was absolutely disgusting. It was cold and repulsive. Only cold beer saves this shithole.

We came here with a groupon. The food and service were great! Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. My beer cheese burger was super delicious! It was cooked medium like I like it. And the tator tots are a must! Will return!

There is really nothing worth going to this place for. Its a bar with decent beer selection and crappy food. Parking is a nightmare. If you cant find a better place to eat and drink you are doing something wrong. For an ale house they dont have a huge beer selection. 15 or so craft beers on tap. Not bad but thought there would be more. Their beer glasses taste like soap. The food was awful and expensive. The cheese curds were clearly frozen variety. The lobster grilled cheese was horrible. Probably the worst thing I’ve ever had at a bar. Zero flavor and old ass«lobster» chunks. It tasted like a brussle sprout sandwich. Yuck! The ruben was nothing special and definitely not worth $ 14. Even the pickle tasted like crap. I had a groupon so the damage wasn’t so bad but if I had a bill of $ 55 for 2 beers and 2 horse bleep sandwiches I would have walked out and flipped the bird. TERRIBLE! ZERO out of 10. Go somewhere else(Macs industrial, Ray J’s, Legends, Elis East… anywhere but here)

The steak salad was great. The steak is very thin, but the cook did a fabulous job of keeping it as rare as he could. Their version of a juicy Lucy wasn’t as oozy as expected but still good. The service was fantastic!

I came with a friend on a Friday night to watch the US Men’s Soccer Team in their Gold Cup match. There was a big crow there to watch, it was a fairly live atmosphere! Of course, there is a huge selection of drinks, we had a few. The biggest plus, though, was the half-priced appetizers during the match! We split brussel sprouts, tater tots, and poutine. All of those were fresh, creative, and tasty! I’d say the poutine was the best, but take your pick. The only negative was the service. Towards the end of the night, we had to wait quite a while between visits.

This is a great place to grab a decent priced burger. I’ve only had their burgers so not sure how the rest of the menu is. I’ve had the hangover lucy and the PB& bacon lucy. Both were super delicious and I have my eye on the beer cheese lucy the next time I go! You won’t be disappointed when ordering a burger here! One thing though, every time i’ve gone, service has been slow. So if you’re in a hurry you better know what you want to order by the time you walk in because it can take a while for your server to show up, and the food to come out, and to get your check!

I really have had some fun times at the Crooked Pint Ale House! I must have driven by many times on Washington, it’s sort of hidden. When you walk in though, it’s a big space. The set up is unique. You can easily park in the back lot(for a fee), and when you come inside, you will be in the upstairs bar area. There is a lounge area, bar seating and a few booths. Then, down the open stairs, there is a main dining area where a GIANT full screen television! No matter where you are sitting in here, you can see the game. I do think it rolls up to the ceiling, because another time I was here with a live DJ mixing on a stage in that same spot. Initially, I was given a grouping and went to check the place out on a Wednesday night with a friend. It happened to be Sassy Lassy trivia night, so we stayed to play. I must admit, this was a crazy ton of fun! We ordered a lobster grilled cheese with tater tots and tacos. It was decent, but the best part was the homemade tater tots filled with goodness! I think they have meat, onions and sour cream baked inside. I didn’t ask too many questions, I just ate! Another time I went and ate a BBQ bacon Lucy burger with fries. The BBQ sauce was sweet and tangy, along side the baked cheese inside the burger. The coleslaw on the side was not a bad idea either. Bonus-Sign up for their email rewards club and get a free appetizer for signing up, then a free burger in your birthday month! They are always sending me free stuff.

Was staying across the street from this place and thought I’d give it a try and take in the Sunday night game– Solid craft beer selection, my server was attentive and had some beer knowledge. Had some chicken wings that were well executed and tasty, definitely met expectations but nothing worth going out of your way for. They have this Tater tot dish that has homemade tater tots laced with Serrano chiles and bacon. They are served over a creamy gravy laced with ground beef and melted habanero cheese– It was an incredibly rich concoction reminiscent of SOS also known as cream chip beef on toast only it had the tots floating on top. This dish was so rich and nasty I actually felt guilty eating it and could not bring myself to finish it.(although I really wanted to) It was white trash gourmet at its best. I shamelessly recommend it.

On my first visit to Crooked Pint I made a quick stop for chicken tacos and a glass of Sav Blanc. I liked that the shells of the tacos were toasted and the sauce on top was very good. I was pretty disappointed that the menu said it was served with«chips and salsa» and I got exactly two(yes two) rather large chips with salsa already poured on top. First, that wasn’t nearly enough to describe it as coming with chips and salsa. Second, my two chips got soggy before I could eat them. If not for that minor disappointment I would have given the good four stars. I also tasted my friend’s Rachel sandwich and that was also well done.
