YESSSS. Go to this place. They are so friendly and kind. I had never had African food before and they were just so excited and proud for me to try it. They told us all about all the kinds of food and it was such a pleasant enjoyable experience. Highly recommend woohoo!

Great food. Showed up to get something to go right as they were starting to close and they gladly made me a dish. Strangely no menu, the chef basically asked me what I wanted and went and made it. Maybe because it was during closing. I got the chicken and rice, which also came with a salad and cup of soup while I waited. Ended up being like $ 11 for everything plus a banana and a bottle of water. Good service, good food. Lots of rice though, next time I’ll ask for a bigger salad and more veggies.

Five stars! This is hands down the best place in Minneapolis for Somali Food. I have been here many times and each time the food gets better and better. I would absolutely recommend the Rice and suqar(which is like beef stew) — which seems simple and unassuming but it is really easy to mess up. Not Daalo– they absolutely nail it. Customer service is absolutely outstanding. I love it and it’s family friendly so you could bring your kids without feeling uncomfortable. Tip: Most of the portions are really large and could easily be shared I Looooove this place!!!

Had the roast goat with rice to go, and asked for it to be spicy. The flavours were very good — I even enjoyed the rice which in most places is quite bland — and the spice level was just right. I would have preferred a bit more sauce for the meat but enjoyed the dish. The menu could be a bit more of focused — includes a burger and spaghetti for example — but I have yet to try those items so I cannot judge. Shakir is a great guy too who will make you feel at home.
