EC Design

I got my wedding band from Emily Johnson via Fire Opal in Jamaica Plain, MA. The quality and finish are great and the production was completed in a very short time frame.

My Fiancée (now wife!!!) and I went to Emily this past July to begin working on her engagement ring. Neither of us really had any idea about rings, but she made sure to take the time over several meetings to help walk us through all of the options and answer our endless list of questions. She was so amazing to work with in fact, that when it came time to consider the wedding bands that there was really no consideration needed at all. We called Emily and were back for round two.
We couldn’t be any happier with the way our rings turned out and the entire process. It means so much more to us that we were able to work directly with the designer/​artist/​craftswoman (she really does it all!) instead of simply going to a big box jewelry store.
Even though we have since moved away from Minneapolis, I’m sure that down the road we’ll work with her again for a special anniversary present or even just a splurge. If you are considering her f, please stop and contact her now, she (and her jewelry of course) are simply the best!

Emily was personable, flexible (we were out-​of-​town travelers), and delivered a high quality products. Our wedding rings turned out better than we could have ever imagined and were custom to our personal style. Highly recommended.

My husband and I wanted to be thoughtful about the rings we decided to purchase for our wedding. To us, supporting a local artist, versus a manufactured standard engagement and wedding ring, was very important. We did not want cookie cutter! We also wanted sustainable jewelry that was made of reclaimed metals, and a design that meant something to us.
Upon finding EC design online, we both agreed that we liked her style. We visited her shop and it was a comfortable, easy environment where Emily exhibited much patience as we tried to decide what we’d like.
On our second visit, we decided that we loved the «linear band» design, that to us symbolized tree bark. We also did not want a diamond or stone, and found that a stack-​able narrow band with a «gem» of rose gold was the perfect solitaire to stack on the band. Almost 2 years later I love our rings and get many compliments on the originality and how «us» they are. Thank you, Emily!

I was at a big, gay group dinner the other night where my friends and I realized that all the married couples had rings made by Emily at EC Design. And for good reason! Her designs manage to be classic and unique at the same time, which makes them perfect for couples looking to do something outside of the standard wedding ring scene. As for my personal experience at EC Design, the process of ordering a custom-​made piece of jewelry could have been really intimidating, but I found it to be much easier than I expected. I felt like Emily kept my budget in mind while also taking the time to explore all the possible options to design a ring I would be thrilled to give my partner. Highly recommended.
