The key west fish tacos are amazing: a great combination of heat, acid and sweetness flavors. Fresh vegetables/fixings and nice pieces of fish make for a good lunch for $ 10.

I was looking for a falafel truck and could not find one so I tried Lulu’s today. I was so disappointed and unsatisfied that I signed up for Unilocal. There were no descriptions on the chalkboard so I should have known better to interrogate them about every item on the chicken and waffle. I gave it two stars because it was white meat and still moist, and the service was quick for a food truck. The spicy mayo was gross and all I could taste despite scraping the chicken skin off to get rid of it. The waffle was like a cloying sponge of fat and not the crispy buttermilk deliciousness you might expect. It had far too much syrup all over it which pooled in the bottom of my food tray. Who knew it would come with bacon(which was not cooked enough and slimy), cheese, and poorly seasoned grilled onions. Too much going on one plate… A waste of $ 10 for an unappealing meal that I threw out because I just could not eat it.

Stopped by this food truck since I had yet to try anything. My friend suggested we split the chicken waffle sandwich but like an angsty teenager I said no thanks and ordered my own… along with fries. I like to test my inner fatty. Boy was I tested! Not only were most of thee it’s left, but I was only able to get through one of the sandwiches. They lightly fry the waffle, and you get fried chicken strips in between. There’s a mayo aioli sauce along with pepper jack cheese. They lightly dust powdered sugar on top and stick it like we’re at the state fair, food on a stick style. You can’t though so make sure to grab a fork. It’s the perfect combination of sweet and savory with a little spice. The one complaint I had was that the menu mentioned nothing about bacon, and there was definitely bacon on it as well. I would have gotten something different or asked to leave it off. At least give me the chance to refuse! Other than the fact that it could have been a horrible experience if I were Muslim or Jewish, the sand which(with bacon taken off by me), was good. Fries were nothing special but for $ 3 you get a complete tray full. So is it worth it? Yes. Now to go eat some salad or fruit.

Lulu’s food truck offers calorie-filled deliciousness. The menu is limited but includes a chick-n waffle sandwich, a bbq pork mac&cheese sandwich, salt fries among other tasty looking treats only a state fair or food truck can or should offer. My favorite though are the key west fish tacos. How do I love thee fish tacos? Let me count the ways. Warm flour tortilla, pan seared white fish(grouper maybe), red cabbage, a very special sauce(move over Burger King whopper) topped with a generous portion of al fresco salsa containing cilantro, red onion, mango, tomatoes, shredded carrots and black sesame seeds. The owner and order taker guy is a bit rough around the edges, it’s a bit disorganized and the line is long, but it’s all part of the charm and let’s face it, anticipation is half the fun. Lastly, it’s all worth it because it is just that good. I am a fish taco enthusiast and only two other places are as good; Don Chepo in Isla Mujeres, MX and Por Que No? In Portland, OR. Well done Lulu’s. You’ve got my vote. If only your food could run for president…

I split the Parmesan Truffle Fries for $ 5 and Caribbean Crab Cake Sandwich $ 10ish with my friend Lauren. The sandwich came with Cajun Slaw on a pretzel bun. I’m not usually a fan of pretzel things but this bun with the cake and slaw was really good. The sauce or slaw had just the right amount of spice kick. I was tempted to order another sandwich afterward Lauren finished off the majority of it. I could have skipped the fries but I was hungry. Most people in line were ordering the Chicken and Waffles. If I see this truck again, count me in.

When I think of street food, I imagine colorful food trucks with friendly staff offering a short menu of wildly-creative, rarely-healthy, and tasty food. That’s LuLu’s. Their chicken and waffle sandwich(a combo of waffles, syrup, cajun mayo and fried chicken) is insanely good. It’s also an insanely bad choice when you’re wearing business attire. Bring wipes or the sticky trek to a sink where you can wash off the aftermath will be a grueling one. It could be your most memorable food truck experience of the season!

With a delightfully creative menu that includes some interesting variations on classic street fare, Lulus is a good truck to grab some lunch. I had a pulled pork and mac & cheese melt. While the pork was good and the mac & cheese topping the pork was OK, the star here was the grilled bread. They were able to get the right consistency of butteriness with crispness. I have also had the fries with sea salt. I am not a huge fan thick cut fries so these are not my favorite. However, they were superbly salted and great for fans of a thick fry.

My friend and I recently stopped at Lulu’s food truck for a quick lunch during the work day. To my pleasant surprise as I was deciding what to order, someone didn’t claim their sandwich and the server gave it to me for free! Great because I didn’t have to pay or decide what to order but unfortunate because my friend’s food took a long time to make so mine was cold and hard by the time I walked away. My pulled Pork Mac and Cheese was still tasty and the meat was high quality, but the bread was soggy in parts and hard in parts because of not eating it right away. I was so hungry by the time I are this sandwich that I forgot to snap a pic, sorry! My friend’s Pulled Pork on a Pretzel Bun looked really good and juicy and she appreciated the flavor but said there was a little too much sauce. I give the service 4 – 5 stars and food 2 – 3. I’d for sure try Lulu’s again since the menu had great variety and was extensive!

Yum! First time having lunch with my younger brother downtown and decided to try a food truck. The truck was right outside my building, the Wells Fargo tower, and first stop we made. The menu looked amazing, we walked down the line to see a couple more menus but we were intrigued and hooked as soon as we say lobster Mac N Cheese Melt! so we had one of those and ordered the chicken and waffle sandwich and the Parmesan truffle fries to share between the two of us. huge portions for the price we got the meal for. My favorite was the lobster mac n cheese melt, think grilled cheese on steroids! they stuffed it with creamy Mac n cheese and lobster meat in between a layer of cheese and bread. AMAZING! I could have eaten the whole thing but ya know had to share with the brother. The fried chicken and waffle sandwich was pretty good too. Fried waffles acted as the bread layer(dipped on syrup) with cheese, bacon and fried chicken pieces. The fries were good as well, but felt we were missing the Parmesan and truffle? kind of plain but still good fries that went well with all the sandwich goodness we had to share. Keep in mind this is not a meal you should be eating on a regular basis, you would clog an artery pretty quickly with the amount of fried products we had but I am willing to take that chance every so often to get that yummy taste of those sandwiches again. Well worth it, when you see what you get you cannot help but start to salivate.
