This is my record for my most out of date review ever, it closed 4 years ago. But they still have a bakery in St. Louis Park. If variety is the spice of life, then variety needs upgrading. Their website says they have«More flavors than anyone else in the world … 222 and counting.» I didn’t see 222 flavors in the case, but there were a lot, and all, I suspect, from the ones I did have, equally mediocre. To this day the space stands empty, empty as the flavors of the cheesecake that once littered the inside, empty as my heart after reading about congressional districts in Texas being redrawn so that minority urban districts are diluted by white suburban ones. Coincidence, say the lawmakers who crafted these districts, hah, just as much coincidence as the connection between the crafting of these cheesecakes and the café going out of business.

Muddy Paws has closed their store on Hennepin Avenue in Uptown, but still offers their delicious cheesecakes via their website: Order one! You will be impressed at the selection and quality.

Its saturday morning, you had a good friday night of drinking… breakfast is on tap. You drive down to the Uptown Diner only to find a bunch of folks mulling around waiting for a table. Fear not just head down the block to Muddy Paws. Although known for their cheesecake this aint no one trick pony. If your looking for something savory they have like 5 diff quiches, if your looking for something sweet, the bread pudding is quite tasty. Both are like six bucks or so and well worth it. They also have excellent coffee and lattes. I recommend the light roast coffee.

Who would ever think that a caf based around a single dessert type would make it? Well, Muddy Paws succeeds because of their innovation and quality. They offer all kinds of deli-type food. We had some croissant sandwiches that were super delicious. Their cheesecake is also really good, not super heavy but well made and comes in a ton of flavors. They also have a suggestion box where you can suggest a cheesecake and if they make it they will let you know. You can also order a custom cheesecake in whatever flavor floats your boat. In addition to their restaurant, Muddy Paws also caters weddings or wherever you have a large group that needs to be fed. They have earned numerous accolades and press, as evidenced by the frames leading into the shop.
