I live in the area and have driven by this place a thousand times… From the outside, it looks like an old-school corner liquor store. I popped in one night for a case of Grain Belt Nordeast. WOW. Pleasantly surprised. Easy off-street parking. I walked in and was greeted by several very friendly employees. The place felt larger than I expected, spacious, clean and organized. Very good selections all the way around. Good prices and some good sales. Super friendly staff. They just won another customer. I’ll be back.

This is my absolute favorite liquor store. The location is ideal and there is always a spot in parking lot. The staff is super friendly and very helpful. They have gift wrapped my purchases, carried boxes of booze out to my car, and help me pick out the perfect item for my evening. I always manage to leave with something awesome for a very reasonable price.

Prices and selection are very reasonable, and staff is super friendly and knowledgeable — they helped my husband and I select a couple of liquors we were having trouble deciding on — even gave us samples of one we hadn’t tried before! Plus they sell Greenie Mix so you can bring a little bit of Tony Jaros home with you :)

Friendly, family-owned neighborhood store. May not have the pricing or selection of a big box store, but the service makes up for it. Kegs available.

River Liquor is the best. The are always knowledgeable, friendly, helpful and very generous with the community. The store is nice. They have everything you want and if they don’t stock it they will get it.

Kind of stumbled across this place due to the fact I rarely find myself as far NE as Lowry Ave., but this place may be the cleanest and orderly-est liquor store I’ve ever been in. They didn’t carry what I was looking for but they did have a modest mix of micro beers, I picked up a six of Limited Edition Lagunitas($ 9.99 … ouch! … but it was Limited…) in place. They had a lot of major brands and it seemed that was their focus, or biggest sellers, as it were. Wine racks down the center of the place and the remainder shelved the hard stuff. Prices of the micro I looked at seemed fair. I also bought a Powerball ticket so if you don’t see any further entries from me, you’ll know why. Upon further review I have to believe Minneapolis, especially Northeast Minneapolis, has the highest number of bars & liquor store per capita in the entire eight county metro area. What that means or says I have no idea.
