They consistently put out great food! My favorite from the truck is their signature pork and shrimp patty sandwich with chips. If you see them around give them a shot.

I occasionally office in the Eagan/Mendota Heights area, and today we were graced with a visit from the Scratch food truck. Woo Hoo ! Food truck sighting in the ‘burbs ! I’ll admit that I’m slightly jealous of those of you that have a variety of food truck lunch choices in downtown Minneapolis and/or Saint Paul. Scratch had a nice sandwich selection today — Korean BBQ pork, coconut braised chicken, and some of the standards listed on their website. I got the Korean BBQ pork sandwich simply because I’m a sucker for all things Korean BBQ. Served on a large toasted roll, it’s topped with delicious cabbage slaw and fresh made salt & vinegar chips on the side. My co-worker opted for the sesame beef sandwich which was blatantly popular among the other street diners today. Of course, we had to split the pork eggrolls, which were a great crispy — fried compliment to our sandwiches. I’ll gladly return to scratch in the future if the opportunity presents itself, and hope this will serve as an open invitation for Geoff and Aimee to re-visit us in the burbs soon !

Tried their Korean pulled pork sandwich. It was very good. The sauce was spicy but not overwhelmingly so. Cabbage was good. You get a lot of food for your money and I could have easily shared my sandwich and still had enough for lunch. Would definitely return.

We were on a Sip & Cycle stopping at the NE tasting rooms. Scratch Food Truck was a perfect complement to the 612 flight of beer. Geoff and Aimee were super-friendly, fun and their food fantastic! Loved the mock-duck sandwiches and chips. The steak sandwich and egg rolls were also really good for the meat eaters among us. AND, if you accidentally drop all your food while walking back into the brewery, Geoff will not only make you another sandwich, but hand-deliver it to where you’re sitting!

A couple weeks ago, I was at the Government Center around lunch time, and was excited to be able to try some food trucks! However, I realized that it was early November, and some of the usual players were done for the season. As I was about to admit defeat and grab something from Panera, I see Scratch Food Truck and I was saved :) They have a nice selection of sandwiches; I was heavily debating between the pork & shrimp patty, the sesame beef, and the fried chicken. The jalapeño slaw on the fried chicken sandwich won me over in the end, though. The fried chicken sandwich comes on a long bun, and is absolutely delicious. The slaw is spicy and tangy, and paired with the crisp fried chicken and mayonnaise, it makes for a very excellent sandwich. They make their own chips here, too, and you get a very generous portion with your sandwich. I’ll definitely be coming back here.

It was a HOT summer afternoon in June and I just had to eat at a food truck for lunch. Met up with a friend and we landed on SFT. The line wasn’t too long, but after we ordered, it was about 25 deep! I decided on the Sesame Beef sandwich, mostly because I saw three other people get theirs as I was waiting to order. There is NOTHING wrong with this sandwich, I mean NOTHING. Did I say nothing?! The bread is soft on the inside with soft crust, they toast it on the grill before serving. The beef is just fantastic! Grill to perfection with great flavor! It wasn’t chewy, dry, over cooked, nothing; it was cooked just right. It comes served with a splash of mayo, grilled onions and mixed with cilantro. The salt/vinegar chips were a great compliment as well. Great sandwich! I’ll for sure stop by again! *if you’re planning to grab lunch, be sure to go early, the line gets long which means the wait gets longer.

We were at the Northern Spark event and needed some energy so we waited in the Scratch food truck line. The wait paid off as we really enjoyed our Sesame Beef with cilantro. The homemade fried chips were tasty too. We had the ginger rice krispie bar which was pretty good, but I’m not sure I need it again.(I suppose I just like the classic rice krispie bar recipe?) I’ll be back to try more of their sandwiches though!

Tried Scratch out for lunch and LOVED it! Great addition to the Food Truck industry in Minneapolis! The chef incorporates an asian taste to his food. There’s a selection of sandwiches and wraps. I went there yesterday and they had rolls on the menu! Two of us ordered the Pork/Shrimp sandwich, and another the sesame beef. The sandwiches are definitely large in size, perfect for any large appetite. Comes with tasty fried chips… not sure what the oil used was but very tasty! Everything is made to order, but still a quick turnaround! The pork/shrimp sandwich came with(what I believe) a tasty mango-type slaw and ‘mystery’ sauce that really created a ‘light’ asian taste to it. Not heavy at all, regardless of the size of the sandwich! All of us enjoyed our lunch and plan on coming back for more!
