I met up here for a quick HH meeting a couple of years ago. I was really rather surprised how easy it was to find parking and how dead the bar actually was. It was 5 o’clock and they had good HH specials and deals going on, so it was actually sort of disconcerting how dead t was. I was worried there was mysteriously something wrong with The Loop that I hadn’t realized. Overall, it as great place and enjoyable. If I had a reason to be in the area more, I would stop by again.

Busy Friday night but found two spots at the bar. Prompt and attentive service from the bartenders and they were very sweet to us old guys. We shared smoked chicken nachos and the chicken had a ton of smokiness. Couple that with some liquid cheese and that’s what nachos are about to me. The right balance of fancy /creative and ballpark simplicity. I had the Cuban sandwich with fries and devoured it — very, very good. My friend had a turkey burger but came with pork belly on it. I didn’t mind as I got that as a bonus, but kind of an odd combo for the turkey burger — if you want pork belly you probably get a regular burger. The surly furious on tap was a perfect compliment, and we snuck out just as they were setting up a DJ booth and a queue outside. Whippersnappers!

Terrible service. The bartender was not attentive at all. Took almost 10 minutes to order a beer after first sitting at the bar. Sat with an empty glass for almost another 10 minutes, and the bartender didn’t seem to care I was waiting! It wasn’t busy either — 8 people at the bar. So much potential but just didn’t cut it!

Will all the great food places in the Warehouse District this isn’t one of them. May be good for a beer if the wait staff gets around to you. Food was only so so.

I ordered the stuffed chicken and it was really good. The only downside is that the piece of chicken was small and I was still a bit hungry afterwards. Two pieces of chicken would have been just right.

In the last two years I have had so many bad experiences here from not getting a drink for 1+hrs to waiting in line and witnessing racism from the bouncers. Please don’t support The Loop. They don’t deserve your business. Also the food… not good.

This review is for the restaurant /lunch crowd. I can’t speak to the late night bar biz but there are plenty of other reviews here for that. I work in the neighborhood so I come in for lunch at least a couple of times a month. Service is usually good and speedy. The typical bar /lunch favorites, like burgers and sandwiches, are always reliably good. What stops me from giving 5 stars is inconsistency in some of the other items. I’ve had a couple of dishes, like the beet and goat cheese salad, that were sensational one day and just mediocre the next. What I really enjoy here are the sides. They offer sweet potato fries as a substitute for regular fries, and the onion rings are great. Large, slurpy onions breaded in a tasty batter that’s not too heavy. If you’re with a group of people, it’s fun to get an order of rings or some other appetizer to share. Those are always good. All in all, a good reliable place.

Loop is multi faced place, in a good way. I have been this place few times and haven’t been disappointed yet. You always get excellent service here. Wait stuff is busy but very attentive and jolly. It is a restaurant during day and night club after 10 pm. I love the crowd, they are little matured and well dressed.

Worst service I’ve ever had at a place that pretends they are a restaurant. Their food can be described as bar food at best. With all the great bar and restaurant options in Minneapolis, this place really needs to just go away.

Ad far as bars go, its really quite average. Overpriced food, overpriced weak drinks, really gets a «meh» out of me. But the kicker is how miserable the staff is. Holy jeez, you guys are making bank on tips tonight… Can you pretend to be enjoying yourself? If everyone is this upset working here, they’re either super depressed(not my guess) or the management is terrible and treats them like shit(this is my guess).

The Loop in the North Loop has fantastic Happy Hour drink specials until 6:30pm(yes, 30 minutes after most in the ‘hood end). The bar is always bustling with young professionals from the neighborhood. But my biggest issue with this place is the lackluster service. I typically wait 5 full minutes to get noticed after walking in, even on not so busy nights. Frankly, I can’t blame the bartenders because they seem to be hustling; it seems like the actual design of the bar(a loop) is the issue. Bartenders tend to stay on either the north or south side and never really have a good grasp of what’s going on. Or they only focus on a big group. It’s disappointing, honestly, because I feel like these issues have been brought up before and could be easily fixed by management. The happy hour deals are good. The ambiance is what you’d expect. Whatever you do, avoid this place after dark on a weekend. It’s transformed into Bro Central. During the day, however, it’s not so bad.

Ahhh the loop. If you can get over the pretentious vibe that tends to linger with the general North Loop crowd, the loop is a great place for a meal any time of day. We haven’t had anything we haven’t enjoyed(with the exception of the fish tacos… reallllly fishy) and the pizzas are sneaky good. The beer is always cold and the servers are always very friendly and attentive.

I was really surprised to read all the reviews(after going here) talking about what a great dance place the Loop is. We got there a little before 10pm on Friday and although there was a noticeable change at 10 — all the women bartenders disappeared and suddenly all men appeared(I’m assuming because everyone on my side of the bar was a lady — and a DJ started playing, no one was dancing. And the sound system is not good. But I didn’t go there to dance so that’s okay. I did go there for a drink and it was not the worst Old Fashioned ever, but it was not good.

This place a great spot to hang out and catch up friends and listen to good music. The drinks are great and staff is very friendly. The owner even stored by to see how we are doing and even bussed dirty dishes to help out the waitress. Overall, this had good food, drinks and music.

Honestly, I couldn’t decide what to eat. Everything sounded awesome and interesting and creative and exciting! This restaurant is definitely bigger than it looks. It’s comfortable and the staff feel like your best friend. Started out with the banana-strawberry-basil lemonade drink that was mind blowing. It started tasted like banana and then it was a lemonade strawberry and towards the end basil. I would have never thought of those things but I’m really glad they did. Pork wontons were oddly good as well! Cream cheese and pork? Who knew. Fish tacos were simply tasty. The pineapple rice was a compliment to the fish. And using the cabbage instead of lettuce was a nice touch. The jambalaya was spicy, our server was no liar. But more of a rice base than soup. Not the best around but relatively decent. Everything was so filling. And both of us forgot that we were treated with a salad. 17 different dressing, anyone would be pleased. Our server was informative, friendly and a great worker. I wish I would’ve caught her name.

This is a great place to sit back, have some good drinks and watch the crowd. The location is perfectly nestled in the North Loop. The staff is attentive and works very hard especially on the weekends as this place attracts huge crowds who like drinking and dancing. The food and drinks are very reasonable priced. This place also caters to the sports fans. With large screen TVs everywhere, this is a great place for watching games with friends and fellow sports lovers. Parking could be a problem weekend nights but The Loop does offer valet service for a fee.

This is not a 3, it is a 3.5. I just don’t know how to show a half star rating. The restaurant/bar itself gets a 3, but the bouncers/security staff gets a 4. Averaging a 3.5. The Loop has a reputation for being packed at night with lots of drunk young people. Perfect if you are young and drunk. It is one of those places that is a restaurant until about 8:30pm on Friday night when they clear the tables to pack in as many drunk folks as they can. I know for a fact that they have good late night bouncers/security. Last weekend we stopped by — there was a short line and a small crowd of people in front either smoking or waiting to go in. We were standing outside debating whether or not we want to smush thru the crowd to get to the bar. Then all of sudden bang, I just heard a gun shot, and then someone smacked my ass. As I turned around I saw a couple people ducking for cover and a drunk dude running down the street. Took me a second to realize what happened but some drunk wanker who got kicked out whipped a rock at the window and it ricocheted off and hit me in the ass. The bouncers were on him like a pack of hyenas. I felt safe. They chased him a block and a half down the street as he made a very drunkenly zig zag attempt to get away. They tackled him and started stripping his ass naked. Just giving him what he deserved. A strip down beat down. I uploaded a photo for reference.

Note: this rating is just about The Loop Bar as a night bar — I claim no knowledge of the food they serve. Only beer bev and dancing knowledge from this gal. The Loop, The Loop, The Loop is on fire. Okay, depending on your night scene this place could be a nightmare or a paradise. For me, it’s a paradise. They play great jams, have a fun dance floor, and the crowd is great. For those non-dancers(first off why aren’t you dancing — dancing heals souls, or something like that), there is room to stand or sit without feeling like you’re the only one not dancing(unlike 508 bar basement downtown). Fun place to bring a group of friends, I reckon. Alcohol selection is pretty average, and service is good considering they are serving a billion people a night. Now, I don’t know if every time I go my party eyes deceive me or if there are actually a ton of good looking(BUTFUN!) people there. Could be the lights or too many IPAs, but I’m pretty sure I’ve batted eyes and exchanged numbers with some dudes that are way out of my league here. Baller.

The let me in wearing flip flops… #icant. The wobble and songs that were 4 years old blasted from the speakers. Everyone here knew each other .The girls here seemed to be having fun i guess when you aren’t in 5 inch heels you should be all smiles(they were also wearing flip flops). Clearly there is no club code here, no dress code and no music code. I was already drunk and apparently Minneapolis has the cheapest Ketel and sodas in the continental US, now that I can get on board with.
