This place is wonderful! I can’t believe I had never checked it out before. They offer a lot of gorgeous vintage wear and accessories. Quality vintage. Not thrift shop passed as vintage. And considering that quality, I thought the prices were fair. My pal and I were just browsing, but ended up spending a lot of time in this little shop, listening to the old records playing and looking at all the pretty things. I had a hard time walking away from the necklaces and pill box hats. Why would I need a pill box hat? More like… why wouldn’t I?

I am not a frequent visitor to the Linden Hills area, so I had no idea about this store. But now every time I do find myself in that area, I am sure to stop in. I’m surprised not to see more reviews or to have heard about it before now, because I think it is among, if not THE best vintage store in the Twin Cities. The first time I went in there I found a great 60’s gold skirt set and some cool accessories. The second time I went there I found a super cute pin-up swimsuit. Will I always have such luck? Hard to say, but we’re off to a good start. I found her inventory to be higher quality and perhaps more discerning than some of the other shops. Everything I’ve seen has been in really good to mint condition and is clean. She also has some designer label stuff in there, like that beautiful Pauline Trigere dress hanging on the wall, which is cool and sets it apart from some of the other stores. Prices were reasonable as well. I only wish it was closer to my house!

I’m not sure how long The Vintage Studio has been open, as there isn’t a ton of merchandise, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. The owner has a nice selection that doesn’t overwhelm you. The shop has a boutique feel, with groups of dresses, shoes, purses and jewelry. But you’re probably not going to spend hours browsing. When I was there last weekend, the owner was pricing a lot of items yet to be put out, so maybe the racks will fill in, but the store is small, so I doubt the choices will ever be abundant. But it’s across the street from Hunt and Gather, so it’s worth putting on your Saturdayafternoon vintage scrounging tour to see if anything grabs your fancy.
