You want goo food? Go here, every time iv had some new and delicious that sometimes I dream about it. The staff is super nice they can brighten up anyone’s day. One last added thing is that the design inside of the place is really vibrant and fantastic looking. It’s the middle of the winter yet I feel like I’m on a beach.

Eggs rolls were very good, the atmosphere was cozy and fun, the service was very good. I had the chicken curry with coconut milk entrée, which was very good. I will come back. Sunday is happy hour all day with $ 3.00 beers.

This place is amazing, hands down best egg rolls I’ve ever had in my life. My boyfriend is super fussy since he works in the food industry and he loves it as well. The potato sauté is to die for! I eat here almost once a week I love it so much.

Great happy hour prices on food and beer. Nice little patio on Lyndale Ave makes the experience even better.

Every meal is an opportunity for greatness. The food at Vo’s was far from great. We started with egg rolls, fried wontons, and fresh spring rolls and all three lacked flavor and originality. And even the sauces were not enough to cover the mediocrity. Then we ordered the chicken with broccoli and hot and spicy chicken. I realize that to define a Vietnamese restaurant you often order traditional Vietnamese Phở, but based on the outcome of these dishes we will never get to try Vo’s version of Phở because we will not be back. The flavors were bland and boring… not at all what we expected. The best I can say about this experience is that the people working there are extremely pleasant, friendly and more than accommodating.

I recently moved to the area and ordered a bunch of Vo’s lunch specials to feed my movers. Unfortunately, I was not very impressed… The meat in the banh mi was not like the meat I’ve had at other Vietnamese restaurants and it tasted a little off. The spring rolls were chewy, like they had been sitting too long. I did enjoy the egg rolls(as others have mentioned) and the chicken and beef brochettes. Prices were good and service pleasant, but I just did not think the food was on par with my favorite Vietnamese restaurants in the city. Maybe I’ll try it again sometime, but it wouldn’t be my first choice.

I just moved to an apartment nearby and wanted to give Vo’s a try. The food was good and the outdoor patio is adorably kitschy with table settings featuring purse shaped floral arrangements. Also, our teenage waiter was the perfect amount of awkward, shy and helpful. Overall, the food was the right price & good enough to make Vo’s a place I would walk to on a fall day.

Visiting from Los Angeles where we have amazing Vietnamese restaurants. This place was superb! Would highly recommend it. Their egg roll is amazing!

If you’re looking for vegetarian Vietnamese food, this is a great place to go. It doesn’t have the most authentic Vietnamese food around(go to My Huong or Quang’s for that) but I got their tofu curry dish, which comes with rice. My friend got the vegetarian special phở and they were both delicious! The curry tofu dish had just the right amount of sauce without drowning everything and came with an abundance of broccoli, carrots, tofu, onions, all sauteed to perfection. The phở broth was also surprisingly tasty considering it’s vegetarian, though I didn’t try the rest of the ingredients. The prices are slightly higher than those restaurants you’d find on Eat Street, but the ambience is very cozy, very cute. You have a few tables outside to enjoy the beautiful Minnesotan summers and falls. And inside they have a variety of seating — booths, tables, even a cute little patio set for 2 people. Great place, will definitely be back! Note: They’re closed on Mondays, so don’t swing by to kick your Monday blues.

How do you make an eggroll? You push it. Ayyyyyyy. We’ve driven by Vo’s a number of times and what finally caught us was the huge banner that says $ 3 Surly all day. Well ok then. Friday night. 7pm. Half full. The booths are the place to be but they were all full. Nice and cozy and private in there. Seated right away, took a bit to get our orders. Got a couple beers and the eggrolls. And they were damn fine eggrolls. Even my lady liked them and she normally doesn’t(because she’s weird and doesn’t like eggrolls, who in the hell in their right mind doesn’t like eggrolls??) I got the broccoli stirfry. Big portion. Crisp veggies. Good flavor. Rice was kinda dry. She got the phở. Not great. Not terrible. Kinda forgettable. Service was good. Prices were fair. Get the eggrolls.

This place is a hidden gem seriously one of the most delicious Vietnamese restaurants in the Midwest! Most flavorful Egg Roll I’ve ever had! The Cheese Wontons were amazing. Most importantly, very inexpensive for the quality of the dishes and polite friendly service.

Service was great, even though understaffed. Ordered spring rolls, Vietnamese curry chicken, and the phở. All were fantastic. Plus they have tall boys of Surly for $ 3 all day! Will definitely come back again.

The atmosphere at Vo’s is great with semi-private booths and that neighborhood feeling. I was disappointed in their Phở. There is only one option and they were light on the sprouts. The broth was also very bland and lacked character. I would definitely go back, but will probably skip my favorite soup(Phở).

Vo’s is the best. It was a sad day when we moved out of the neighborhood, because walking there was our go to on the weekend. Great food, great service, great price, and did I mention the food? We still drive over from northeast when we want some stir fry or coconut curry.

This place could be the perfect neighborhood Vietnamese restaurant if only the food was a little more consistent. On my first visit here I got the Chow Mein with beef. The meat was tender and juicy and the sauce was flavorful. Plus I’m a sucker for the crunchies! My boyfriend agreed to go with me for the $ 3 Saga. The service was so-so. I had to call the waiter over twice to get a refill and it wasn’t even busy. But overall a pretty good first visit. My 2nd time at Vo’s I opted for the takeout. I figured the Chow Mein wouldn’t be so smart in a takeout box as the crunchy noodles would probably get soggy. So I went with the BBQ pork/chicken with an egg roll. The pork was tender but the chicken was pounded thin and incredibly dry. The barbecue sauce was tasty but I could have gone for more(probably because the meat was so dry). My egg roll was perfectly crunchy. My boyfriend got the curry and loved it. It was spicy and the vegetables were fresh.

Overall, I would go back, but it’s not a place that I am dying to go back to. I think they could hire at least one more server. They only had 1 server and 1 bus boy. It was very busy when we were there. All of the tables were full and there were tons of people waiting in line. We were lucky when we got there because they had one table open. The server was polite, but you could tell that he had a long night. I think they did the best they could. It was our first time there, so I don’t know what the normal traffic looks like there. Food thoughts — I had the BBQ Pork rice platter. I thought it was delicious. My boyfriend had their Phở. He said it was actually pretty good. He said the broth tasted similar to one of his favorite Phở restaurants, which is a pretty big statement! The atmosphere was very interesting. If you walked in not knowing it was a Vietnamese restaurant, you would think you were in Hawaii or something. It was a good try to look like Vietnam though!

It pains me to write a less-than-stellar review for a place run by such nice people, but… I’m not going to restaurants in order to meet new people, so… I just ate a a greasy carrot egg roll and a pepperoni/spam-y/.definitely not pork) banh mi. And by ate, I mean, had a bite of each and threw the rest away. I learned while waiting for my food that what I thought was a Tiki-theme in the restaurant is actually meant to mirror Vietnam. It didn’t seem very Vietnamese to me, but then again, neither did the food. :/:/:?
